Hahaha! Love it. The reason they had to use caffeine pills instead of real drugs is because of the Saturday morning time slot and age demographic - they weren't allowed to have anything "hard" like cocaine or prescription drugs. So they just kept the same kind of reactions, just with caffeine.

I am a Doctor of Pharmacy & a licensed Pharmacist in both America & the EU & I could tell you A) Cocaine is a dopamine/norepinephrine reuptake inhibitor & B) Caffeine is an Adenosine agonist which causes upregulation of Adenosine receptors and causes a nominal spike in norepinephrine levels. Two completely different mechanisms of action & two completely different feelings. It does NOT affect the nervous system the same way.
