  • this guy is a Twat!!!

  • you are a genius !

And its really cool to watch all of your videos like this one.

  • that girl who got the words right obviously cheated I mean she put them in order for fucks sake

  • I only wrongly added angry and anger but those where the ones I guessed in the last couple of secs.

  • The only thing I can remember is how his hair reminds me of a character off Finding Nemo

  • Good stuff, am quoting you for my psych and law degree exam!

  • INCEPTION

  • I found the article on wikipedia and some other reference about that plane crash, but does anyone know where I can find more info about the investigation and the testimonials people sent in?

  • SIX people " DISLIKE " ..... what ?

Being entertained by a genuinely engaging presentation that not only informs as to the fallacies and very nature of pseudo-scientific belief but also provides a healthy does of humor, too ? Sorry. No reikki demo here. No folks being " cured " with touch, auras, crystals. Nobody talking to someone else's dead mother. Why are you online, anyway ? Shouldn't you be keeping the phone line free for your call from Sylvia Browne ? What are you, 327th on her list ?

  • oh come on. she obviously cheated. i mean, she got the words in freaking ORDER.

  • It's Brian Brushwood! Oh my goodness!

  • lol i wrote both words! XD

  • INCEPTION!!!

  • she cheated

  • Hes so cool hes got red shoe laces! he can re-late with the kids!!

  • briAN BRUshwood has..'agressive' hair..........

  • damn I wrote anger... but I didn't write sweet. I guess that makes my memory half good LOL

  • This is great, it's like my cognitive psychology class last year condensed into 30 minutes :)

  • This actually plays a role in the 9/11 conspiracy theory. If you listen to the theory, one of the largest bits of evidence that they have is that thousands of people saw and heard explosions at the base of the buildings. looking closer at the buildings collapse, it did not start with the base of the building but rather at the top, causing each floor to add pressure on the one below. People are certain of this, but they have never taken into consideration the fact that the mind is not perfect.

  • I think you missed the point: study after scientific study has clearly shown that regardless of the event (big or small), humans are prone to badly misremembering important details. I didn't make of this up (I'm just an idiot who eats fire for a living). I'm just reporting on the fine work of memory experts such as Elizabeth Loftus.

Odds are that many of the details you remember about where you were when JFK was assassinated are actually incorrect. At least that what the research shows.

  • @merged If you remember where you were when JFK was shot, you're waaaay to friggin old to be on youtube.

  • @merged Studies were made (not sure if I'm able to find a ref tho) where people were wearing eyemovement tracking devices supposedly for some tests on eye sight or smthng, but in their break there was a staged hold-up. Bystanders were asked to identify the people responsible and most of them picked the wrong guy although they were sure they were right. One person even swore she didn't see it, although it happened right before her eyes. Regardin JFK, how do they know they remem correctly?

  • the stars mean.....A.S.S.H.O.L.E.

  • Yes, and 99.6% of people mis-remembered important details of the plane crash... Did you even watch the video?

  • I didn't get the false memory! :O

Then again, I couldn't remember a lot of words :P

  • Great stuff...

  • It's important to keep in mind that what the demonstrator here is illustrating isn't a "bad" thing, if memory didn't work "forwards" that is, in anticipation of outcomes to events there would be absolutely no use for it! This is what separates us from computers---complex associations, creative, maliable, dynamic memory! Although I understand that nobody wants to be "tricked" or think of themselves as "liars", but you ARE, you are inescapably human...and it's a beautiful, amazing thing.

  • This is absolutely poetic. couldn't agree with you more.

  • I liked your description, but what I would like to add is that what truly separates us from computers is the ability to truly make a decision (up for debate of course).

  • Yeah computers dont make decisions they just take a predetermined path depending on the situation. Humans have flaws that make us a more unpredictable. Anyone who is really scared of computers taking over (yes there are real life people that are this stupid) does not know how computers really work

  • Knowing the logical limitations to human thought really sort of ruin the whole mystery behind things. The more i learned about the real world the more i started seeing things logically and eventually i could not even believe in god or an afterlife because the universe is just not that simple. Learning how the world really works is like having the ending to a good movie spoiled for you.

  • I didnt get anger.

  • nice lid fucko

  • Definitely interesting stuff.. I have an extremely poor memory, so this stuff doesn't exactly come as a surprise to me (I did rather well, didn't get Sweet, but got Anger, 10 on first/8 on second), and I can understand a bit why you'd get those two words in the lists. I'm a bit of a linguistics buff, which also helps my understanding (I.E. lexicons).

But if you'd asked me how sure I was about Anger being there, would've sworn I saw it, even remembered where it "was" on the list. Great stuff.

  • The trick is to throw away things that yiu are ubnsure about. When i see something I only say what I know for sure like shape and so forth. I have seen how bad memory of people is but my long time memory is great and I wouldnt be able to be implemanted with a false memory. I have fail safes on how I think and it wouldnt get far if someone tried it.

  • So you say. Ever put it to the test? Can you even test for that sort of thing? How many oranges were there in the store display five months ago? How many cars did you walk by from the parking lot? Which way did you fall the first time you tried walking?

"Failsafes"? Please. You're not a machine, and memory is a fuzzy thing at best. You're as fallible as everyone else, you're just fooling yourself if you think otherwise. Try remembering your earliest memory, and asking your parents about it.

  • yes you can test it, because I keep a diary ;)

  • If these guys would have asked me which 4 I remember from childhood I would say gflat out which I remember and which I do not and chances are at age 5 I wouldnt remember ANY of them.

People who fall for this are stupid

  • So your failsafes involve running away entirely to avoid failing.

You're either a hypocrite, a liar, or a douchebag. Whatever the case, you're insulting everyone else for being human.

Guess what, kiddo? You're human too, and you're better than no-one. Your memory is just as bad. Fuck your diary, unless you memorize it you WILL get details wrong, and even it might be wrong to begin with. You have nothing, and you are worthless.

  • haha yes I will get details wrong but not major events. I don't suddenly get conned into thinking I went to someone elses birthday party or that I was a mini mozart with a piano. The things that these people get conned into believing is quite absurd and no other explanation can I find other than they are THICK like you. I bet you are someone who believes in UFO's too aren't you!

  • He never said people will get major events wrong. The whole point of this is that people get details of basic things wrong, just like you say you would. You can't say you're smarter than everyone else when you are going based on something different from the subject at hand. If you still think you're smarter than everyone else, he has a show called Scam School that's part of the Revision3 website where he did an episode with two different lists for this test. You should go check it out.

  • oh yes and I consider 95% of humans thick. So if I am insulting the human race so be it. Its a pathetic race.

  • wow your really pathetic. You realize your at the bottom of the barrel for humans right?

  • That is ok, considering people like you ARE the barrel.

A worn out one at that.

  • You know your going to be sorry you acted like such a brat sometime after you hit puberty. Until then why dont you just be a good little kid and get off the computer. I dont think your parents would approve of the stupidity you have been spreading online.

  • No, since parents are dead,]

People like you really don't think do you. That is why you wind up on a silly video like this trying to defend rubbish

  • sure they are buddy lol seriously i am not buying your bs. Your just some stupid little brat who is bored so you go here spreading lies to feel better about your pathetic boring life.

  • you still here?

    haha

  • By the way, it's not 95% of people who get a false memory in this test. It's 84%. I just thought you and your high and mighty ego might want to know that.

  • Well there you go ;) It is like people who get stuck to couches by hypnotists. Total nonsense pseudo science.

  • well you keep believing that but the people who fall for this kind of thing allow themselves to be fooled because they are not thinking logically.

  • Ha, well I can honestly say, both times I did not have either of those false words.

  • yes me too.honestly I didnt put the false words he said.yes.I could have remember more if the mother fucker wasnt talking(pattern interrupt)sad I even had a little bit of trainnig and still

  • People need to sharpen up!

  • This is seriously awesome.

  • I'm curious how many people added sweet to their list after they hit that "wall" this guy talked about. Did they automatically assume sweet was on the list or was it added when their brain was trying to come up with things that might be on the list?

Now that would be an interesting addition to this experiment.

  • nice spiked hair dude

  • False Memory Syndrome was invented by a pedophile. He was a nasty, creepy poostinker of a man who liked to kiddyfiddle. Luckily, he's now dead.

  • his name was sigmund freud.

  • His name was Sigmund Freud!

  • !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • HIS NAME WAS ROBERT PAULSON

  • LOL!

  • that was amazing

  • whatever doesnt help me what so ever, i think these things are for people who are gullible.. which is most of the world

  • how fucking hard is it for youtube. to put videos parts in god damned order. SHIT

  • Agree hair and boots distracting(never judge a book blah blah) but great presenting ..be happy to watch more.

  • Wow this seems like a really interesting lecture, I'm going to have to watch the whole thing!

  • i think my memory would be hindered for paying too much attention to his hair... wow.

  • Yeah dude, I almost dig the hair though... just because it's not what you'd expect. I'd shrug this guy off on the streets, but now I really wish I could sit down and talk to him.

  • so military pilots and specialist, with radar tracking as proof is fake? haha yeah right dude yeah right keep thinking like that you are blind just open your eyes, how many people are crazy or dreaming?

  • your an idiot! the only people i know or have meet that believes in ufos, or any of that other phenomenon bullshit, are of substandard IQ's! You really have to start training your brain and start thinking! Just dont believe blindly, try and work shit out for once!

  • Military, commercial pilots, radar tracking specialist, nuclear physicist, astronauts and even some Presidents are all "Idiots". Obviously this are way more intelligent people than you;I forgot you most be a "Genius" You deserve the Novel Price.. .Look at the crap you watch and then comment about IQ's asshole, bet you didn't graduated high school. Bitch

  • whats wrong with what i watch? ive got a mensa IQ(means im in the top 2% of the population)and i would say i understand alot more than you with a greater understanding of what i do know. if there are these sightings of space craft its not aliens. it would be aircraft built by humans

  • Mensa IQ. ROFL

Judging by your grammar mistakes, I'd bet my life that you're just full of shit. :)

  • You are entitle to belive what-ever the fuck you want to belive in, but dont call people "Idiots" because they dont think like you; that is a very Stupit and Idiotic way of representing your self.

P.S Check your Grammar then comment.

  • right think about this. if aliens exist, why did they not start with complicated beautiful crop circles? why was it just plane circles? sounds to me like humans starting of simple and then with experiance and knowledge getting better. now doesnt that make more sense??? And what is wrong with my gramer?

  • oh and by the way i dont call people idiots 'cause they dont think the way i do. I call them idiots 'because they dont put any deep thought into things they read or are told!

  • That's where you are wrong, dont look at this clow stuuf.Look at real evidence from real experts and video footage from nasa. If thats not enough look into Quantum Physics from David Sereda's

  • right you just said look into quantum physics by david seredas! now dont you think if humans are able to come up with and understand such complicated maths, that anything suspicious or "alien" would be made by humans! now i'll ask you this. do you understand the odds of aliens, coming into existence, then becoming tool builders(hyper-intelligent builders), finding us and then getting here?

  • My friend, look at Michio Kaku on Aliens, on Phyysics. There's your answer.

  • tell me what the odds are of aliens getting into contact with humans!

do you know where aliens are spotted most and what societies see and believe in them!? plus explain how you think they get here aswell. Im curious

  • I just gave you some answers to your questions. I advice you to make your own research and come up with your own answer.

Maybe you belive or maybe you wont, it's your call.

    Regards

  • well it sounds like a leap in faith in your part. and an intelligent person can come up with proof to anything no matter how improbable. looks like we should agree to disagree

  • Even the most intelligent of persons cant reach to deaf ears or blind eyes. I agree with the disagree.

    Regards

  • lol, right back at you!

  • Also look at Michio Kaky Civilisations I, II and III.

  • It's zero.

  • If we had evidence of extra-terrestrials visiting earth, we wouldn't be discussing UFOs. The world would be changed and no religion would still be standing. Either we have evidence or we don't. Having a few people saying we do doesn't make it so.

  • WOW that was amazing!

  • this shit is crazy
