Alcatraz is an awesome place. I will definitely be visiting it again. You can't really see everything there in one day. I was there last week and am now even more obsessed with it!

I went there for a tour when i was a kid in like 86 or 87 and i was just amazed with the place. I just want to know if they still do tours of the island I would love to take my kids there some day for a tour.

yes they still do the tours, a was there in 2006 a always wanted to see alcatraz n sanfrancisco, the place is fantastic..

I was there in 1985 on a tour with the El sobrante boys club and I got my hands slammed in the solataire door and I remember screaming to them to open the door . it hurt I guess that was my sign I would go to prison later in life (BUT I WENT ILLEGALLY AND MY CASE WAS OVERTURNED AND NEW YORK WILL HAVE TO COMPANSATE ME

What's the music being played from the beginning ? I find it quite relaxing and in a sense an oxymoron. I mean because the music is calm and relaxing yet it's showing about Alcatraz which was one of the most feared prisions ever created.

Wilf, Thank you for watching and comment! The music is from the PBTM library (link posted in description) I choose that song cause it reflected my experience in how I saw Alcatraz while visiting. I felt Alcatraz had seen hell and it was finally at peace.

Alcatraz, This was where i first worked. Ive been everywhere on that island, under the prison, on top of the prison and even on top of the light house. Very fun place to visit and to work. Under the prison looks nothing like how it did on "The Rock". Under the prison is the first level of the fort which was there in 1849. The top of the prison is painted this white color and its very blinding.

i didnt see anything creepy, i heard a story that some chairs were left in a circle in one of the hospital rooms by one of the workers and the following morning the chairs were thrown across the room and the legs were bent upwards. While we were under the prison theres this big metal door on the floor of D-Block, we started to bang on it from under and chanted "Let Us Out." someone who was giving a tour in D-Block said they he say some visitors jump in horror. ahh good times. lol

yes, its a very big cell(compared to the other cells) that is located in the hospital.

I was everytime in holydays at Alcatraz and every year there was something closed. Why cann't money spent for the last standing houses? You have to pay a lot for visiting, this money should be for restauration those very interesting part of the USA.

I was there last week too, they closed down a lot of the areas. I was hoping to see the shower room, it looked interesting from "The Rock". But that entire area was closed.
