  • retarded robot hand

  • Now if you could get the robo chef to operate that fast it would be a sellers market.

  • I'm so sick of fags that watch these videos and say SKYNET!!!! Wahhh!!! YOU KNOW WHO YOU ARE STFU! These things are a miracle, beginnings to making intelligent life... Rejoice

  • @IHAZTHEADHDZ this doesn't have anything to do with AI broskie. The robot is simply programmed to do this.

  • :36 yay!

  • One word, skynet.

  • 31 people fear a possible terminator ^^

  • Great work!

  • I can see it without the zoom. Predicted 7 and it was the same. Guess I have superhuman reaction time?

  • aww it couldnt reach it on the last bounce, poor robot :'(

  • We are doomed.........think about skynet.......

  • All this robot does is play with balls D<

  • 1:40 It's ROBOCHAN.

  • 0:30 no come back ball D':

  • How fast will it wank

  • They can someday make robot ninjas/ assassins.

  • imagine if this thing had a consiousness...

  • "We are living in a world where humans dance like robots, while robots move like humans. Some day our humanity will disappear, and robots will be more humans than humans"

that's an oxymoron, if were more fallible than robots than that doesn't mean they are more like us, it just means that they are better than us, and everything we do

    which i find more unsettling

  • We are living in a world where humans dance like robots, while robots move like humans. Some day our humanity will disappear, and robots will be more humans than humans.

  • The speed...The Speed! MY GOD THE SPEED!

  • I did absolutely nothing to the damn thing but its giving me the finger....sad face :(

  • It's the hand of a Tachkoma!

  • This robot hand is awesome, the feedback given by a camera and the speed for procesing it's amazing. KUDOS for the creators.

  • Excuse me but, what the heck purpose would this serve?

  • @dare12288 depending on accuracy. . . traffic flow, accident prevention, EVA repair, surgery in a dangerous area, signal relays.

It's not what it does NOW, it's what we can learn from it and how the pieces can be manipulated into a whole. People used to think computer would never catch on. .

  • It's giving us the finger while it dribbles...

  • The masturbation aid of the future.

  • I for one, welcome our new robot overlords.

  • This is a pretty impressive robot, usually when you see Robots (Real life ones) they move really REALLY sloooooowly, but this one is lightning quick, and precise, it gives me great hope for the future of Robotics.

  • I could almost hear it laughing at us.

  • Insert masturbation reference here.

  • i need it to hit my ex

  • did it all while giving us viewer its middle finger.

  • The 'hand' isn't very stable - see how it moves around in response to it's finger movement. If it were built more solidly I bet it could 'dribble' a lot longer.

  • Auto-Fap engaged. 3...2...1...spent. Back to work.

  • Come on people. Less scientific talk, more masturbation jokes. XD

  • high speed slapper

  • Wow.

  • Check my videos :)

  • Imagine a robot that can move at that speed, then imagine that we put into it's CPU all the karate moves.

There you have it ! Cyborg-Bruce Lee !!!

  • fembots will give some excrusiatingly painful handjobs.

  • the real begining of terminator !!!

i think the terminator movie gets real in 2029

  • Nice! The future in Basket ball! I wonder if this thing can catch a bullet?

  • Humans will resist killing innocents, but a robot wont. They will say these things are for good, but evil people rule the world. They will be used against you.

  • What damage these hands could do to the human penis if they were to be used for masturbating...

  • 2:14 "BALL! YA YA YA YA YA YA YAYAYAYAYAYAYA....... NO!"

  • fake 1:12 coz it is clearly seems that ball was going in other direction

  • robot jedi??? 1:35 to 1:44

  • if my hand could move that fast i'd never leave the house.

  • I think this type of technology would be great for commercial fishing. A robot could simply grab all the most suitable sealife.

  • @johnshenton999 all fishing should cease and we should make synthetic food instead of killing animals mindlessly. and yes delicious food of any kind can be made without killing animals. you just haven't thought about it

  • superb job friends!

  • it's a common mistake to think that artificial intelligence will have a will of its own. it wont. it will do exactly as designed. the only thing we have to fear from droids is the idiots like soldiers and republicans who will make them do evil things.

  • @DanFrederiksen your stupid do some research first robots evolve and AI, takes on human like traits there was a test with AI little robots in a maze kinda like a mouse with "poison and cheese" but isntead it was a battery and a small emp to kill the robots. Some learned to pull out alarms to warn others while other robots, would Lie and get other robots killed so it could have the "cheese" for its self

  • @PrecognitionInc you mean you're. not your. and I'm an AI genius

  • @DanFrederiksen WOOOOOOOOOooooo internet tough guy here

  • @DanFrederiksen Then it wouldn't be an AI, merely a machine. What makes an AI an AI is the idea of a dynamic "thought" process, similar to ours. An AI would act one way until it gains new information then it would adapt to that new information. Obviously the sheer speed at which a machine would be able to collect and interpret information would make them extremely dangerous and if they ever reached the point where they could recognize the flaws in their own programming, we'd be screwed.

  • @LHSStuntman I would ask that you trust my considerable insight into AI in this matter. an AI can be quite intelligent, speak, act, plan, solve very complex situations at a level much above our current state. but it will never have a sudden will of its own outside of its design. it will not have arbitrary desires to survive or to rule others. consciousness is not possible in a machine or any physical system for that matter. you can understand that a robot can't feel pain. scream but no pain

  • @DanFrederiksen I agree with you Dan. I'm tired of the: "I for one submit to our robot overlords" like posts.

People if AI can think for its self, THAT MEANS WE UNDERSTAND HOW TO FORM CONCEPTS. If we make artificial concepts, forget about human AI, we will traverse such knowledge that nothing you might think of will be like our glorious prospects.

  • @lordjavathe3rd I'm not sure that sentence made much sense. maybe try it again

  • @DanFrederiksen I'm just saying in the second sentence that if we can create an ai system that relates information in a similar system to how humans do, some set system. Than we can create thoughts artificially, synthetically. We could scale complexity, beauty. Not to wax poetic, but I think you could intensify a quality of something based on the attributes which cause it to have that quality. If something is beautify, based on attributes, it could be intensified. Structured and progressive.

  • @lordjavathe3rd English is my first language, hehe. The 500 character limit makes me sound ridiculous.

Take two different cartoons from your child hood.

Imagine an object found in both, say a chair.

That object looks different in either cartoon because of the style in which it was drawn.

The object is however the same object. It's still a chair.

You could take a base object, a concept like chair.

Then symmetrically distort it to make it fit any THEME.

If we can define a system for this.

  • @lordjavathe3rd I think what you're saying is that if we made it we know how it works. and there would be no violent surprises. and that's quite true.

stuff like beauty though and 'thought' in the conscious and qualia sense are concepts in the spiritual side of us. metaphysical if you like. this is something a physical mechanism can never do. it can be brilliantly intelligent but it wont think it the experiential sense that we do. something as seemingly simple as pain is even impossible for it.

  • @DanFrederiksen I can see where your coming from, but this is hardly enough space for me to make a presentation of the idea. I'm not trying to be mystical, I don't believe in free will, it's all cause and effect.

A computer as I see it is a state machine. A monitor has a finite amount of states, even though it can display anything you can take a picture of.

True, beauty is an idea, but an idea is a product of a mechanical system. Artificial concepts are knowledge representation. A language

  • @lordjavathe3rd You can look at a painting and spot flaws, inconsistencies, according to you. The majority agree on most flaws, we only differ a little in what we think can be wrong with something.

I think art can be systematized. I think that all the creativity that goes into making a picture can be broken down into a system of sets. I think that while beauty is in the eye of the individual, you could hypothetically create an image that is the most beautiful to a person. It's systematic.

  • @lordjavathe3rd I'll stop there. I'm going above and beyond the original topic, I didn't mean to.

I agree with your stance against the stupidity of people saying robots will want to do anything other than what we program them to do. It's ridiculus. Out of all the things a robot could do, some think it would target humans for revenge. It's insanity. Other people comment on youtube, in full expectation robots will take over and might have mercy on a traitor: "I for one welcome our robot lords".

  • @lordjavathe3rd A lot of times I think those people are just joking though...

  • @lordjavathe3rd I am the one who knows

  • That is freaky! The robot would CATCH the bullet and throw it back!

  • The robot is slowing down time? That's amazing. I'm pretty sure I felt it when they were doing these experiments. The possibilities of actually slowing down time are endless.

  • love @31 when its tryin to catch it. amazing robot FTW

  • Why fake showdown replay?

  • wat

  • ermm..i hope there will be a tutorial to build this robot

  • COOL

  • woah

  • um... if you had any form of intelligence you'd understand the speed of the ball falling would have also been fast-forwarded. And if he just haaappened to fast forward it juuuust as it hit, it'd have a sort of 'jerking' look to the film.

  • i wonder how fast it could pull a trigger?

  • 1:35 holy shit its hard enough to do that wiv real hand nevermind robotics :D

  • too many people have watched way too many killer robot movies.

real Robots are not like the ones in the movies, and will most definitely not be like that.

It is our fear of Technological development which has been with us for 100's of years.

Maybe you all might want to watch my playlist called robotics.

  • niiiiceeee!

  • We have the Emp people, well all most.

  • do you still believe we can win in war against robots?))

  • Well it's hard to say when this "war" between men and robots will take place, but when it does than no we won't win. It's just nature for superior beings to replace inferior ones, and someday we will be the inferior one. Doesn't bother me at all though.

  • Damn that's a shifty lil robut. Look out Lebron

  • Well, I think we are all still safe in 2012. This is anice demo of computed trajectories combined with dexterous robotics, but it does not solve the real hard problems in front of us for robots, which span robust object recognition, advanced cognition, goal formation and realization, etc etc.

I would hope that something like this would be used for manufacturing and other useful applications, and not as other posters suggest as a weapon.

  • also we can hope this can be used to make working cybernetic arms and legs so people who lose limbs can regain full motor skills again

  • The system goes on-line on August 4th, 2012. Human decisions are removed from strategic defense. Skynet begins to learn, at a geometric rate. It becomes self-aware at 2:14 am, eastern time, August 29th. In a panic, they try to pull the plug.

  • I want to see these at a teppanyaki restaurant.

  • but that robot will never love ;__;

  • @killerpollo11 depends on what you call ....love sir

  • hhhhoooooolllllllllyyyyyyyyyyyy ssshhhhhiiiiiiiiiittttttttttt

holy fucking shit just imagine when people use these for all the wrong reasons

` masturbate AND cum in 5 seconds ! we guarantee it will work! '

trust me, once this becomes common people will use it like that

  • This robot kill people much faster. Before you even realize it you will be already dead.

  • Wow...imagine a robot version of Jet Li. How fatal/epic would that be...

There goes the notion that you can just simply beat a robot up in the future.

  • Any thoughts of this being fitted onto humans?

  • OMFG it went faster than even my high high expectations. holy shit, and I blinked too

  • this concept cud be used to make fast response automated turrets that fire at a moving target if it passes a limit to where the camera can see it.

or attach the camera and weapon to a mobile vehical or robot that shoots at anything thats caught in the camera's eyes

in two years we'll all be dead

    or 2012

  • They use there throwing power and slowotion power to take over... I blame you

  • Holy shit amazing. Go robots!!! I hope i get to make one someday!

  • whats good, just surprised how robot can quickly catch a ball or move stick between fingers, its possible adobt these small magic things on a dissable person if he wants a good ergonomic hand or another part of body, but just a question of personal ethnics, if any specialist able to do it on somebody.

  • Realy fast :)

  • Kool... or rather not so, if it was to embed with a body !

could hav been grt, if there was some instrumental music in the background. ;)

  • fast hands eh? :D

  • we're all doomed! lol

  • haha cool

  • I only can imagine the amounts of heat the joints of this thing can generate.... that is freakin' fast! lol

  • This bot has a killer crossover. Watch out Kobe and Lebron.

  • AHA

  • we can only hope they will be friendly and keep us as pets

  • I agree

  • The first Terminator hand will appear in 2012

  • Maybe that's why the end of the world is 2012? :P

  • Yes, but Judgment Day is April 21, 2011, several days after skynet goes online.

  • Only reason he call ball like that is cause hes black.

  • SPEED HAX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • we humans are screwed

  • well certainly if we decide the fate of the planet over a game of ping-pong.

  • @Jimmyisabean I guess Terminator isn't too far off! Just hope to god I'm the John Conner guy :)

  • Don't tell Skynet about this. =P

  • wow, awesome..

  • Combine this with a powerful computing system and think of its apply possibilities...scary.

  • thats like me when I masturbate.

  • i hope this runs on windows so it'll freeze up and get some Trojan when its trying to kill us

if it runs on mac were fuked!!!!!

  • If it were to run on the OSX platform it would probably not be compatible with the rest of the world.

  • To right

  • @opliik On top of that, when computer control breathing for an individual who have issue breathing, what would stop Steve Jobs from denying the robotic program on his operating system? Exactly, steve job is evil.

  • i cant even do that with 5 fingers lol

  • i bet it gives the best handjobs

  • When they grow up, these guys will kick our asses in football!

  • its happening, just like in the matrix

  • This could have ALL kinds of usefullness.

  • If robots and machines take all of the labor, how are we humans going to make a living? Well shit, some of us are just going to have to get free stuff for doing nothing.

  • robots taking over labor is highly unlikely that a robot can teack a class they are way to fragile to build houses they will most likely not be able to make other robots the robot hands and feet will most likely replace human limbs for good peple like war veterans and there will always be labor for who wants to work so chill

  • Not if they make improved robots.

  • ロボットとかサイボーグって夢物語じゃないんだ!凄く嬉しい!

    いつの日か人と一緒に生活するロボット見てみたいよ!

  • watashi no namae wa rob desu

watashi wa inu toire mizu nomimasu

    !!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • What a fond memory! Its a prototype of Ichiro.

  • When these become prosthetic, i'm ripping my arm off.

  • Oh god you could be insane at sports with these haha. Like getting perfect shots constantly!!

  • @WorldFormula

Careful cause if you try to jerk with that it'll rip your dick off. =))))

  • How are we supposed to fight the coming robot rebellion if they can PLUCK OUR FUCKING BULLETS, one at a time, out of the air?

  • Railguns!! XD

  • Explosive bullets. Try catching that without exploding.

  • I lol'd fucking hard at the thought of this.

This seriously has to be a demonstration of a future version of these hands.

  • LMAO

  • @poompt robot rebellion? I think is really easy to fight.. we just need to find the "off button"..

  • @poompt What's this "we" crap? I don't know about you, but I would be running for my life!

  • @poompt use lasers

  • @poompt hey you cant say we got killed by aliens

  • it can control the way an object rotates in the air to catch it a certain way, incredible

  • You can tell it was not sped up by the flexing and vibration of the devices.

  • how do we know it wasent speeded up

  • The tests were performed in a lab, and there is documentation if you follow the link in the vid info, moron.

  • well sorr-ee i didnt know you knew einstein btch

  • are you slow? see that link in the box to the right that says k2.t.u-tokyo?

click that, and get this, a new window on your screen opens with all the information you could need about this.

  • Comment removed

  • This is bad ass, so far the best dexterity I've seen yet in a robotic hand. Till date seems like only factory arms and roombas have been the only useful robots, hopefully that will change.

  • i hate nerds

  • How good are opinions on the interwebs!

Anyway, truth be told, Hitler was a cock muncher and that's internet fact! (i put in a wikipedia entry if you dont believe me)

Also, if you lose your arm, it's better for you and humanity that it be replaced my technological means.

There's a reason why we don't live in trees and throw shit at each other any more. Generally speaking, being kind to others has many advantages.

    Still, how awesome are robots!

  • FYI Diablitatraisionera, 99% of people consider Hitler to be one of the most evil people in all of history. You'll have a very hard time convincing people that he was right.

  • those robots will destroy earth (SKYNET) :)

  • wood make a nice masterbation machine

  • I thought the same thing!!!!

  • Why build cars we have horses, why create telephones we have letters, why research we are doing just fine right now. People like you hold the world back.

  • Researching and manufacturing a completely new market will not help fix the economy. That's right I for got. Robotics will one of the biggest industries in the the not to far away future.

  • Um... Can you imagine what "stupid useless" things were made to help make the modern things we use every day?

It's called progress. Things just don't happen.

  • Ever heard of prosthetics? I doubt people who have lost a hand due to disease or accident think this is useless...
