  • precision landing awsome

  • Lawn darts for grown ups.

  • Дебильные америкосы!)))

  • 空対地爆弾と同じ落下軌道ですね

  • S.L.B.M mini. Oh! Dangerous.

  • One thing I can say for sure is that the technology seen in this video is higher than that of China....

  • This is a pen! This is a pen !! This is a pen!!!

  • 最後の結末は驚いたが、最初の

    5.4.3.2.1・・・あれ? みたいな間がうけた。

  • あぶね~人に当たったら死ぬ

  • Balls of steel behind the camera! Props!

  • This is how jericho missle scene in iron man should have gone down.. Lol

  • I know the parachute should have deployed, but did it not occur to the organizers, that sometimes what goes up fuckin fast, also comes down fuckin fast. lmfao.

  • @TishBracken came down slower than it went up

  • @Michael2987

Your right it did, but it probably hit the ground at around 150mph, which in my book, is still fuckin fast. lol

  • @TishBracken yeh that kind of speed is very possible

  • i cant stop pressing "6"

  • amazing!

  • Camera man doesn't care, he will just use his giant steel balls as protections

  • e-MAZING CAMERA WORK

  • Michael Bay should hire this guy!

  • best thing this week for me..anyone else?

  • Heads up everybody

  • IS this place located in ohio?

  • i guess parachute failed?

  • *thonk*

  • Well caught by the camera man.

  • filmed like a boss

  • for some reason, this reminds me of my career.

  • OH SHIT! that was the best camera work I've EVER seen!

  • A+ camera work

  • regardless of permits or 'class 2' or 'class 3', this was still a really dumb move... 9 people just died in the reno aircrash, by a veteran ww2 pilot crashing his plane into the crowd. 9 people who's family's will suffer greatly, so yea, all your permits and classifications mean nothing when people's lives are in danger. This is not a 'sport' this is a 'hobby' and no matter how good you think you are with dangerous technology there will always be potential for a person to screw up

  • @illicitfilms Oh no something bad happened, lets stop everything!

  • It's like not creating any sort of pitch change to make sure a highspeed object launched into the air will always fall away from the spectators is stupid or something.

  • Thank you, cameraman, for not botching this shot.

  • SSCCCHHHHHEEEW-thwoop.

  • Hahahaha, HEADS UP EVERYBODY, HEADS UP!

  • What horrible ending, all that build up for a little "poof"

  • Damn imagine if that impacted on top of you?? a nice visual memory for the kids

  • i cant seem to stop pressing 6 O.O

  • Wow, what did they think would happen? What goes up must come down

  • Press 6 and repeat.

  • I was waiting for the BOOOM!!

  • @vinsimjos What boom? I guess the rocket was empty of fuel.

  • damn nigga

  • SWEET! I love lawn darts, thats a big one though!

  • Wow, that was close. Oh well, law of murphy. Anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. Just glad no one got hurt. Look at it this way, it's rare for a rocket's chutes to not deploy. It goes with the territory.

  • holy shit

  • press pause than 6

  • @david1513 I believe it is spelled "creep" not "creap." If you're going to insult me, please do it correctly. Much Thanks :)

  • @david1513 Well Shit Tyrone

  • That is one heck of a prang.

  • 0:38 - The sound of a rocket screaming before it dies.

  • lol, i thought that was funny as shit

  • ground win!

  • Good grief, that looked like a JDAM!

  • 0:39.5

  • 0:40

  • 0:39

  • this is very similar to middle east weapons

  • Wonder how many people went to the toilet after that one.

  • it may have been a failed launch, but it definitely made a nice thud :P

  • Ahahah "uh oh.. that doesn't look good"

  • Imagine being in the middle of that!

  • Holy shit! That was way too close for comfort

  • "please stay away from the rocket", but come in hoards like zombies!

  • not safe

  • WHOA!! wish I could have been there to see that

  • Rocket suicide lol

  • uff

  • WOW!

  • WOW!!! That would have ruined someones day if it had hit them.

  • @pmedic297

    Would have killed them

  • hahaha

  • @lonestar1775 lol!

  • woot i was the first 41,000 view!!!

  • lol damn dude that was close

  • It didn't break the sound barrier

  • lol holy shit

  • u could hear it broke the sound barrier before it crash

  • Looks like the Lucerne Test Range in California. 28-bucks for the motor? Must've been awhile ago because judging from the size and design (air drag) of that bird, it would've taken at LEAST a J-motor to boost it to that height and those cost alot more than 30-bucks! I'm guessing that was a K550. Man, I miss High Power! Danged economy!

  • This, ladies and gentlemen is why we should angle our launch rods and rails AWAY from the crowd. You have a big field, use it.

  • At the end "That coulda killed someone!" NO DUH

  • WHOOOOOA! that coulda killed someone!

    awesome!!!

  • estimated speed at impact?

  • terminal speed ;-)

  • LOL terminal speed.

  • 300+

  • fast enough to hurt. =)

  • Had one of these in Taupiri NZ. Darn thing lawn darted right up to its fins..had to get a spade to dig it out of the ground.

  • >>>>>>>>>>> time :41 sec

  • double check your soup before you lunch

  • I this the Estes Gemini DC upscale? Anyway insane to have the crowd standing that close!! Luckily no one got hit :)

  • All minimum required distances were observed.

    There are two lessons here.

When the LCO calls a heads up, it's no joke. Heads up means heads up!

    And gravity wins, every time.

  • the LCO is always right when i launched my rocket they were in tower with ironically reinforced steel roofs, its funny how they're trying to protect the people but is was all good no accidents

  • wowowoow, too bad the chute didn't deploy. It happened to me when i launched my first rocket. The rocket accelerated so fast that the chut inside actually get suck deeper down toward the bottom of tube.

  • Why did the sound come way after the impact? Did the audio get off or something?

  • holy shit... this sound!

  • This video is freaking hilarious! lol . "uh oh.. that doesn't look good" "Heads up EVERYYBODDYY!!!!" Lma0 hahAHAHHaa. Then.. "Stay away from the rocket everybody" and herds or people are running towards it. Lmfa00 hHaAhahahAh! Funny stuff.

  • Well said.

  • well done, great camera work to catch the impact, that is one big rocket

  • Why didn't you put some TNT in the cone...lol

  • someone could have died

  • sounded like a morter

  • Yipers. It's scary when that happens. But HPR has a good safety record. I'm not worried.

  • dont people ever fucking listen stay away from it dumb asses jesus and people wander why they get hurt and sent to the hospital..

  • dam! im glad that bloke was shouting watch out.. or someone cud of lost their head!! that was a bad crash!

  • dontt worry obama will stop this he will impose a tax on rockets since evil rich republicans are the only ones who could afford this luxury

  • injuries in this hobby are from negligence or stupidity. narrow-fearminded comments like some of those are disrespectful when an open mind is what breeds awareness and prevents stupid shit from happening... and besides, terrorists already have access to Stinger Missile Systems that are designed just for killing aircraft!!!!! there's something to think about dumbass.

  • Amazing video. Glad no-one was hurt. People, just because something bad happened, and it happened to be caught on video, does NOT mean that it represents the entire hobby.

One plane crashes, and then no-one wants to fly...

I've noticed that the vast majority of you-tubers are hand-waving armchair micromanagers. It's a crying shame.

  • whoa

  • Whatever, Mr. Alarmist. You evidently know nothing about rocketry, a hobby that has been by MILLIONS of people. Stay in your shelter and stock up on your non-perishable goods while you wait for the apocalypse.

  • it' people like you that don't understand the sport of amature rocketry or any other sport for that matter, that don't know the sport, that get stupid laws past prohibiting it. For your information, for that rocket they probably were at least class 2 certified if not class 3 and had ATF low explosive holder permits.

  • @airgunsniper I hope those rocket engines aren't DDs. Send a form and a $200 check to the ATF and WAIT every time you want to buy something >:(

  • @airgunsniper +the real experimental ameteur rocket launches don't allow non experimental or non high powered flights. the national experimental launch requires a $40 registration to watch, and children under 18 are not allowed...we don't take our hobby lightly

  • @airgunsniper that rocket is level 3...! my rockets went from 3/12 oz to now 15.24 oz or 432 grams, heavey huh? do you know if it will still fly on a 24-40 airotech composit D-Eand F motor at that weight ? i know the D motor puts out 9 1/2 pounds of thrust for two seconds, and the E is like 4 1/2 pounds of thrust for 3 seconds..! most people here use the F and G motors, ive never used a F motor yet...! but it will fit inside my case the 24X40 mm case, thank you for your time,,,

  • @airgunsniper it's not a sport

  • They have a permit. The government makes money off them. Likes their money.

  • Pizpot's comment is truer then the bible itself

  • Flight - A

    Parachute Deployment - F

    Ground Splat - A

  • Note to self... don't paint the rocket sky blue.

  • wow yo, thats dangerous.

  • ouch

  • please stay away from what is left of the rocket holy shit that thing hit hard

  • what? no injuries? YAWN

  • Are you volunteering to be the first fatality involved in HPR?

    Dumbass.

  • I wonder what was done immediately following the cratering event? Were people moved back? Were other failure modes analyzed? Were any other assessments done, or did they launch another one 10 minutes later? Having a "near miss" occur because of an anomoly is one thing. Having an actual injury occur later on would be criminal.

  • for every one rocket that lands without a chute like this one, there's literally hundreds of flights that go perfectly.

Rocketry is one of the safest hobbies in the Country, and the people who participate are very safety concious... there has NEVER been a fatality resulting from organized rocketry, whether the rockets are 2 feet tall or 20 feet tall.

  • Nerds!

  • smart enough to launch a rocket, yet stupid enough to launch it straight up

  • How else do you launch it?!?

  • that was launched exactly per NAR and TRA rules, it was about 300 feet out and it was leaning out, remeber perspective dosnt caputre on video very well...

  • it was ok.i wish it would have landed on my dads head. that would be something

  • he said heads up

  • omg guy siad hands up ? hahaa that's insane

  • HAEHAEHEAAHHAEAHE its heads up! heehhehe to see the rocket =p

  • LOL

  • yeah it looks great until someone gets hurt

  • How do civilians get a hold of such deadly rockets?? That thing could take out a 747. I wonder how many terrorists in training were at that launch.

  • Did you see the crater it made...that was like two whole inches deep. That was huge model rocket and it barely made a dent.

Another thing, even three stage model rockets barely make it past half a mile...about 2,000 ft. Aircrafts cruise at at least 30,000 ft.

  • I was there thats a friends rocket, the nose cone was about 4 feet down.... the dirt collpsed in on it thats why it looks like its not very deep. and the rocket was close to 12 feet tall. funny how perspective changes things..

  • now your just stupid, a 747 flys at about 30,000 feet, that made it to about 6000 feet, and if you notice the simple electronics to get a chute out didnt work (primary and back up) imagine how difficult it would be to actually steer one int an airplane flying at about 700 miles per hour.... you my fiend are just plain stupid... the only reason we let people like you live is because it illeagal to kill you..

  • > imagine how difficult it would be to actually steer one int an airplane flying at about 700 miles per hour.... you my fiend are just plain stupid... the only reason we let people like you live is because it illeagal to kill you..

Yes, and imagine how hard it would be to hit a 747, cruising speed 556 mph.

  • You miss the point. A 747 is a big lumbering target on its final approach to an airport. A fast rocket like this with an high-explosive payload could really fuck it up. I didn't think I needed to explain the obvious, but I see now that knuckle-draggers like yourself are dumber than shit.

  • Try to get a hold of the motors needed to power these things. Try to build one. Try to find a high explosive payload. Try to shoot down a 747. Then tell me that it is easy to shoot down a plane. It really is not. High Power Rocketry is EXTREMELY regulated and there is no way that an un certified person can get ahold of the parts neccessary to try to do something like that. Please dont post anything like this again.

  • Amateur rocketry is an extremely safe hobby. No one has been killed or seriously injured when conducting launches per NAR or Tripoli regulations.

The chances of launching an amateur rocket and hitting an airliner in flight, either at altitude or on final approach are slim to none. These rockets have no guidance system. A 747 on final is still traveling at a pretty good rate of speed. Someone one did experiments to try and hit an aircraft on approach, they were never able to hit it.

  • Well, it was supposed to have a parachute that comes out at apogee...

    Clearly, something didn't work though...

  • where did they think the rocket would go? what goes up must come down...

  • This is a prime example as to the extent of american thought and planning

  • model rockets have automatic parachute deployment, so that particular launch was an anomaly. =)

  • What sonic boom - that flight was subsonic the whole time

  • I think i heard a sonic boom but i could be wrong ;)

  • Nah - you did hear it hit the ground though :)

  • Heard that sonic boom?

  • roflmao that's fricking funny as hell

  • OH MY GOD, could have been bad

  • What the... Oh my gosh, this could have ended more badly than this.

  • Holy crap!
