Well I don't like the BBC commentators because they don't give credit the moves that the gymnast actually do..."straight to the floor" thats not in the code of points..I thought that was a Shushunova...thats what I want to hear...I love Beth though this floor is still great. I just get tired of hearing all this praise for BBC and they don't really tell you whats going on.

Unfortunately there's only so much they can do. But in any case I think she's great because she shows you don't have to be really pretty to be a good gymnast - she's inspirational next to all the model-like nastias and shawns.

I'm not a big fan of bbc and if i didn't know a good bit about gymnastics i would be really confused hearing that a stumbling spin is beautiful and stepping both feet out of bounds is well done...i think beth is a powerful tumbler but wow bbc

i think christine was pointing out that the spins were performed well, she didnt comment on the ending. I agree with the out of bounds though i was surprised she didnt pick up on that... the tumble was very well executed however, it was just the slight mistake at the end... i agree though, the bbc glorify average execution, in this case, i think they were right to praise an excellent performance of a phenominally difficult routine.

I hate how gymnasts are amazing at tumbling and then they ruin it all with their terrible dance ability. It's awful. The really need proper training in dance, I mean the pirouettes are hideous, they just fling themselves into it. And what the fuck is with the flicky wrists and the bendy back action. A lovely floor routine. And I must say, I love the leotards for Great Britain as well. For those who are asking, Sandra Isbasa took the gold in the floor exercise, then Shawn Johnson and then Nastia Liukin, if I'm not mistaken. I personally like BBC's commentary better, and I'm American. I find things to like about all of the gymnasts.

it is not me who is the one who is competing for the whole world to see and judge. yes i know they are difficult because i was a gymnast and a good tumbler for 10 years. yes overall she's a good gymnast to make it that far but her floor routine (and beam) both need work.

Not quite true. The BBC commentators are famous for being supportive of every gymnast and staying positive, regardless of the country they come from. They're not nearly as biased as their NBC colleagues, who only focus on everyone's mistakes but the ones of the American gymnasts'. Besides, I wouldn't call the British team mediocre when they missed the final by a spot.
