BTW...The difference between a low end .357 load and a high end .38 Special load is only about 200 fps and 150 Ft Lbs...give or take. (in barrel lengths over 4 in)...In 'Snubbys' the difference is even less.
Buffalo Bore makes several .38 Special loads that exceed 1000 fps.

I've never shot a revolver. I have heard that the .357 kicks more than the .44 since there is more powder behind it than the .44 round, but people also tell me the 44 kicks more since the bullet is larger.
A .357 magnum is a fairly small bullet, magnum is a term used to describe a cartridge with excess powder. yes, a .357 mag will kick more than a regular .44 bullet. A bigger bullet traveling a distance at a slower pace than a smaller bullet with more powder behind it makes a huge difference. There's nothing to compare with a .44 mag, it's like a .50 cal basically. My dad has a .38 special that can fire .357 mag's, .38 spec, and .38 longs but there is no comparison to a .44 magnum.

I've shot a lot of both and must admit I can't tell the difference from the recoil. But then I'm a recoil junky, 12 gauge doesn't make me flinch, for some reason my body just doesn't register recoil that much.

I don't think that they're taught that improper stance. Anthropologically, a stuck out (offered) female butt has a MUCH different connotation.
They're naturally hesitant to taking a proper stance because they'll have to stick their butt out if they bend their knees and lean forward from the hip.
When I teach a female to shoot, a combat stance is the thing to which they're most resistant.

Let's compare standard Winchester ammo in both 357 & 38+P:

357: 125gr * (1450fps)^2 = 583.7 fp Energy...
38+P: 125gr * (945fps)^2= 247 fp Energy

So, 357 has about 2.5 times the Energy of 38+P...That's a gigantic difference, those are the Numbers, those are the facts (Even when compared to +P)...So "given that situation", it still shouldn't be hard to tell the difference (Even if you want to IMAGINE that she normally shoots +P)

I don't think that they're taught that improper stance. Anthropologically, a stuck out (offered) female butt has a MUCH different connotation.
They're naturally hesitant to taking a proper stance because they'll have to stick their butt out if they bend their knees and lean forward from the hip.
When I teach a female to shoot, a combat stance is the thing to which they're most resistant.

Let's compare standard Winchester ammo in both 357 & 38+P:

357: 125gr * (1450fps)^2 = 583.7 fp Energy...
38+P: 125gr * (945fps)^2= 247 fp Energy
**
So, 357 has about 2.5 times the Energy of 38+P...That's a gigantic difference, those are the Numbers, those are the facts (Even when compared to +P)...So "given that situation", it still shouldn't be hard to tell the difference (Even if you want to IMAGINE that she normally shoots +P)

That would be the S&W340pd. It chambers both. I have a 342pd which is a .38 spl.+p but it won't chamber a .357mag. It's the same frame as the 340pd. Both are very nice carriers.
