a while ago, where i live a guy brutaly killed some baby s and a woman in a daycare center, and they also blamed it on violent videogames and his intrest in horror movies. I play lots of violent games but that doesnt make me wanna murder people in real life. Its surely a mental thing that doesnt evolve by playing games.

I saw this on BBC news the other day; and they quoted him to say "No one see's my potential. I'm serious" Then they went on to say he talked about Counter Strike.. Is most likely because he didn't fit in or whatever.. video games aren't the reason why people murder.

I think the parents of that guy (Tim Kretschner) are the ones to blame.
Their son was depressed and had psychiatrical treatment, and what did his father do with him?
He took him to the shooting range, so i think this became the best thing in his life at that time.
and later on he started shooting his airgun on friends.
I mean all the signs were their it's just a fail from the people that knew him

It's interesting how video games are blamed for the parents screwing up and moms everywhere are getting ready to use that as yet another excuse for failing and ruining other peoples' lives. Don't holy texts have more malevolent killing and violence than most video games? And isn't it the uncaring and shallow, or close-minded and abusive parents that mess up the kids? i agree that videogames arent the reason for kids going out and killing people; however is it not possible that this kid got addicted and started acting out.. example would be such as a kid who watches pro wrestling and throws his brother threw a table because his favorite wrestler does that and his brother for one reason or another dies of bleeding ... that would be a similar scenario. my personal opinion about parents who blame games is just a scapegoat cause they are shitty parents i'm probably not the first to say this but yeah i have played everything from MMO's to FPS and i don't feel the need to go out and shoot people or go WoW on them and cast frost shock -.-
