  • I love the That 70's Show episode where Barry and Chris play the gay neighbors XD

  • What's amusing to me that Robert Reed very vehemently refused to appear in the final episode of "The Brady Bunch" because he found the plot and the devices used in it to be absurd (You can read the full account in Barry Williams' book "Growing up Brady: I was a Teenage Greg" ) Yet somehow he was okay with this? One has to wonder how much above scale they were paying him.

  • Once again Red Forman has shown us the way!

  • Cindy Brady (Susan Olsen) was and still is my favourite Brady!!!

  • At 2:32, Barry Williams wipes out on skates. I was in the Navy (and overseas) when this show was on. Thank Heaven. Actually, it's entertaining in a kitschy sort of way.

  • Loved this show, especially the musical numbers- wish all ethe episodes were available on DVD

  • this show sucked balls

  • WOW....Tina Turner. And what about bobby's hair.....laughable

  • At 1:01 - Hey, Greg, what's new, pussycat?

  • This was so great! Great job Susan! Thank you for posting this!!!!!!!!!

  • I think this is awesome! Brings back memories

  • Fantastic job, Susan. I loved it.

  • If this is crap... it's the best kind... I don't think that they could put a show like this on television today, even if it were intentional I only wish they could ...because I loved every smelly frame.

    It was just AWESOME CRAP!

  • I'm probably alone in this, but I think if you accept as a given that the Brady Bunch Variety Hour is schlock, it isn't really bad schlock.

  • You're not alone

  • @sre65ct that was fucking epic comedy material i cant type im pissing myself cheers my friend

  • Nice work, Susan O! I have the DVD of the show, but this makes me want to see the rest of the series. The costumes in particular are delightfully horrible. I plan to buy the new book, but every time I go to a bookstore they haven't got it yet.

  • I can't think of a period of history that had more ugliness than the 1970s! Tacky, trashy, campy, mediocrity!

  • The look on his face after getting pushed into the swimming pool by Redd Foxx is very funny. Thank you for this variety show tribute.

  • the brady bunch is amazing.

  • Wow! I've never seen most of these clips before! They used the clip where Chris messed up though. at 1:12... LOL! They used the Tina Turner one too! Man... I wish I could watch a full episode of the Brady Bunch Hour

  • Hello and thank you so much for putting this together!!!

BRAVO! Very well-done & entertaining!! I had a tiny bit part on your show when i was 14 in the episode:"The Show Must Go On??" So...I'm still able to rest on my old BRADY laurels... ha-ha! ;-) Who'da thunk this would be so classic, but it certainly IS. :-) "MAY THE SHERWOOD SCHWARTZ BE WITH YOU...."

    God bless you!

    Bonnie :-)

  • Great new bio (All About Jeffrey Hunter) at amazon! Bio is about the popular actor who tried for the role of Mike Brady!

  • Wow ! Farrah at 2:24 !! They had a shitload of stars on this turkey !

  • Wow... brilliant!

I can't decide if their use of 'Razzle Dazzle' was self-knowing or ironic.

  • Is that Barry and Maureen at 02:22? Also, can I just say how cute Chris is at 02:10! Who is that at 02:04 being rattled like that?

  • Susan Olsen. Rather violent, that is

  • Yeah, I know! She is REALLY being rapidly shook back and forth. Worrying.

  • It's unfortunate that variety shows don't exist anymore on TV (such as it is; all that "reality" show crap on now). and it's too bad that we have to resort to the internet to "return" to these times to see it again or re-live those times. *heavy sigh*

  • they're called sketch comedies now and they do usually have musical performances too

  • Is anyone else freaked out at 2:45 ?

  • More freaked out by 1:31!

Considering what was known later on.

  • See Greg mess up at 1:11

  • it was fun gbeing a kid in the 70s

  • I feel robbed growing up where we only got one TV Channel.

@castletriglav I thought the Dukes was eloquent satire.

  • AS bad as this show was, it's still light years better than the wretched Dukes of Hazzard.

  • I believe that's actually Bruce Villanch, who got his start writing for this show, although I'm open to correction on this

  • is that one of the brady girls in the pool at 2.23? I thought they were afraid of getting their hair wet.

  • the last verse i didn't like

Kander & Ebb's original last verse was better

  • I like!!!! I wish I could watch the Brady Bunch Hour episodes NOT on DVD. I want all the Brady Bunch episodes from all the installments for my library. I'm a hard core fan.

  • Honestly, I never watched either show. But the "Variety Hour" looks like wacky fun. What looks like REAL crap is the cynical, bitter attitude of the characters on "That 70's Show".

  • Too bad they didn't have "Hairspray" back then. Marcia could have been Amber Von Tussle and Carol could have been Velma Voln Tusscle.

  • The Schwartzes had nothing to do with this show; the Kroffts (of HR Pufnstuf and Lidsville notoriety) produced this show.

And yes, according to Barry's book "Growing Up Brady", Bob Reed did enjoy working on the variety hour (probably BECAUSE of the absence of Sherwood and Lloyd).

As for the show itself...well, Barry summed it up in his book with an old Hollywood adage:

    You can't polish a turd!

  • Wow, I am ten again and watching this crap in my parent's rec room. At least my Legos kept me entertained.

  • Hahahaha "oh no this show is crap" lol...

    Luved it!

  • peter lookin hott in his cowboy outfit at 2:25

  • I agree! Peter looks sexy!

  • @oooh19 greg looked hotter. hubba hubba.

  • Supposedly Robert Reed LOVED doing "The Brady Bunch Hour" even though he gave Sherwood and Co. constant grief because he thought The original Brady Bunch was stupid. This show makes the original Brady Bunch look like Shakespere. I guess Mr. Brady was "coming out" at this time.

  • Suppoedly, as alwig said, it was because of the lack of Sherwood Schwarftz and the team (and Paramount.:))

  • @Brisoup1 Apparently the idea of taking a show he hated and turning it into mindless fun appealed to him too.

  • How embarrassing.

  • agree, not much substance in the Brady hour, but it was great to finally see cindy grown up....who would have known that those shows would be spoofed by anyone and everyone....lol

  • That was AWESOME!! Loved the ending, especially!!

  • stupid, greedy people. paramount was just trying to make more money off of the brady bunch, even when the cost to do the show was more than the income they were receiving. dya know that even now more than thirty years later, they still get called by their brady bunch names?!

  • they must have felt like the most washed up has beens in history doing this pathetic show

  • Robert Reed played a transexual in medical center,Greg and Peter played neighbouring gay lovers in seventies show,At least the Bradys are the real singers,The Partridge family mimed to other peoples voices except for David Cassidy,Mr Forman is like my Dad no wonder I liked this family more

  • I loved the Brady variety hour in the seventies, jus the way it was.Like everything it gets dated but was okay back then.Made people feel happy, nowadays half the population has to take prozac instead.

  • Red Forman is damn right!

  • great video!

  • oh god and I thought I was over my bulema. Jesus!

  • America,s cultural gift to the world-and I thought we had really bad TV here in Canada.

  • I hope at least they made some money from that

  • That was beyond horrendous. I loved The Brady Bunch - but why the variety shows?? Truly awful.

  • holy crap that show really blows, and too think we watched as kids makes me wonder what we were thinking, (of course we didn't have cable tv ) lol

  • This crap will always have a special place in my heart.

  • great video!

  • Amazing that they got all those guest stars on such a short-lived series. I loved this show; I was a kid then and didn't know any better. Now, when Vincent Price was on, didn't that raise all kinds of problems with continuity in the Bradyverse?

  • After this taste, now I wanna see the whole enchilada!!! (controlled substances WILL be necessary). Is it on VHS or DVD? I haven't checked yet, but I bet Eddie Brandt's has it, even as a "loaner" -- I'll keep my fingers crossed. Would be great to combine with "Telly! Who Loves Ya Baby?", the Telly Savalas Special (a lesser known but similarly bodacious variety specatcle). Thank You, Susan Olsen, for taking what must have been a scary trip down memory lane. :-)

  • Thanks, Susan, for putting this together.

  • Susan:

Great job! Who would have thought you had so many 70's "superstars" show up for that!

  • Serious cornball!! Would love to see all the shows out on DVD LOL

  • Hmm, I can see why Eve Plumb didn't do the show...but seriously, good work.

  • Susan,

I got your email...loved hearing from you...I hope you get over the horror of sitting through the episodes to create this montage..teehee!!! Love the kitty porn!!!

  • can anybody find and put on car wash?

  • Susan Olsen,

I had no idea it was you who edited this...you are my favorite Brady and a hell of a montage maker!!!

    Keep em coming!!!

I hope to see you back on TV soon, you are so funny, I love how you ended the tribute with, "Oh, this is crap.." That is genius!!!

    Sincerely,

    Misty!!!

  • Whoever created this montage, I am LAUGING my head off!!!

    BRADY ROCKS!!!
