Thats an R6 you need around 800hp+ to pull on a 1000cc supersports... a 600cc sports will just about squirt away from a 600bhp car like it did then... not bashing beating an R6 is still pretty badass... but an R1 would dust it :) atleast upto 170mph

However, there have been plenty of Cosworths well over 500bhp, look back at the touring cars in the late 80's they had around 550bhp on qualifying engines. There are plenty of videos on here showing big power YBs, SCS's Escort, MADs/Rod Tarrys Sapphire etc etc
In regards to a 330bhp Scooby beating a genuine 500bhp Cosworth, its not going to happen(straight line race), in fact the Subaru would struggle against proper 330 bhp Cosworths.

You don't get wastegate chatter on throttle release. A wastegate is there to limit your boost under load, not release pressure in your inlet system. It's on the "other side" of your engine. ;)
Its not a blow off valve its a wastegate which releases the remainder of turbo pressure when the driver takes his foot off the accelerator. Search external wastegate chatter and then blow of valve, sound differant dont they?
How on earth can a wastegate, thats mounted on the exhaustside of the turbo, release the turbopressure??????? And second, how on earth can that make a sound on my car, since i dont have a open wastegate??? And one more thing. Please explane to me why the sound changes if i drive without the pipe to my airfilter.

LOL at all the guys that won't believe the OWNER of the car when he says it doesn't have a BOV. Check out the term "turbo flutter" or even "turbo cavitation" and see for yourselves. The extra loads on the turbo from backpressure and how long it can take the suffering from that is up to the turbo's quality and what bearings it has. There's plenty of guys running high boost engines without a BOV.
There's no way this car doesn't have a BOV. it has to have SOMETHING to vent boost pressure when the throttle body butterfly shuts. Otherwise the boost would be pushed back toward the turbo and the compressor blades would be history in only a couple of pulls. The guy who posted this video is a stupid ass.

That sounds like compressor surge to me, and thats not good for your turbo. Adding a BOV should fix that. I would go with a recirculating BOV, that way the air gets dumped back behind the MAF and the engine runs much smoother and you wont have that awful BOV sound that all the rice boys adore.
@Bauksi No MAF on this car, and have driven the car like this for four years, still with no turboproblem, or any signs of defect to the turbo, so the problems that people talk about when driving without a bow is very blown up.
The bike wasn't really trying to race you. You would have been seeing tail lights all the way otherwise. A bike like that has roughly 1100 hp per ton. So your car with 605 hp could only weigh like 1400 lbs to stand a chance. See you when I fill up for gas.

The actuator powered by AIR Causes the chirping whilst moving the wastegate. Look at any Cosworth video. Also its "how a wastegate works" not "have a wastegate works"

the noise is compressor stall on the turbo it is audible on all petrol turbocharged cars to some degree if you DO NOT have a bov fitted it is made louder through increased boost levels and the use of a cone filter
I will almost bet my last £1 that this car is fitted with a cone filter which is why the noise is amplified. I've been messing around with the YB motor since i was 17! Incidentally; i wouldnt run a car with this power with no BOV; i have seen turbo shafts snap at this level of tune due to turbo stall. anything beyond a t4 requires a dump vale in my opinion. it will depend on boost pressures but i'd hazard a guess this is running over 2 bar (30 psi)
There is not a BOV on this car; all cosworth YB motors make this noise if NOT fitted with a BOV.The noise you hear is actually turbo stall; the noise is created by the compressed air having nowhere to vent to; so it comes back through the turbo and out through the filter.
the sound that u heer is the turbo thats the sound that it makes when the turbo is stalling , goin from high revs to low revs causes this and low revs to high revs ther is air jamin up in the system which does'nt reach the engine which causes the turbo to stall
It was no race, once i seen it was a streetfighter i knew the bike was gonna lose. I'm not a fan of the streetfighter style, shit sucks reduces aerodynamics and makes the bike less powerful, yea its better in the corners and easier to wheelie, but all it does is destroy a beautiful bike. OK Mr know it all, have you ever noticed why i bike is shaped like a bullet? Its called Aerodynamics By taking off the fairings and pulling the handle bars back and having the rider sit more upright, is reducing the airflow around the bike. Ask anyone who has a streetfighter they all say at times that have trouble out accelerating 600s.

Taking fairings off also doesn't "reduce airflow around the bike" either. It just disrupts air a lot more, making it less aerodynamic. I know all about bikes and their different configurations. take a pic or send me a pic of the air inlet manifold from turbo to the inlet butterflies. i have never heard a car make that noise without any sort of BOV that is the only way that noise is created as its the air rushing out from when inlet butterflies are shut and turbo still spinning creating a high pressure and the BOV opens to keep the turbo spinning to reduce turbo lag

@gixxerk4600 This noise is called waste gate chatter, you will get this sound from any cosworth with an induction kit that does not have a BOV.. the noise is made from the rapid opening and closing of the internal wastegate when the throttle is closed and the wastegate is trying to regulate the pressure.

Trust me, i know this car, i helped build it. There is no BOV / Dump Valve of any kind. Pipes straight from the turbo to IC, from IC to intake, nothing on the pipes, nada, zip... :)

@CoChicken1337 If you havent heard that sound from the condition before, i suggest you stop learning from computergames, and take a look outside to the real world. I have driven the car with that turbo for 4 years on the street, and its still in perfect condition. Its not good for the turbo, but not so bad as everyone who has played forza 3 meens.

I have heard this sound plenty of times before, but not when there's no type of BOV. That's what I was saying. I think it's hilarious how you're making all these assumptions about me that are completely wrong. You most certainly were implying many things in your previous post. I have a vast knowledge about vehicles, both turbo and non-turbo. If you don't believe me that's fine. I feel no need to prove myself to some random child on the internet.

That sounds like compressor surge to me, and thats not good for your turbo. Adding a BOV should fix that. I would go with a recirculating BOV, that way the air gets dumped back behind the MAF and the engine runs much smoother and you wont have that awful BOV sound that all the rice boys adore.

@Bauksi No MAF on this car, and have driven the car like this for four years, still with no turboproblem, or any signs of defect to the turbo, so the problems that people talk about when driving without a bow is very blown up.

The bike wasn't really trying to race you. You would have been seeing tail lights all the way otherwise. A bike like that has roughly 1100 hp per ton. So your car with 605 hp could only weigh like 1400 lbs to stand a chance. See you when I fill up for gas.

@BredaOslo I have one and have built one. It is not an external wastegate sound. Suggest before you critisize you get your facts right. The actuator powered by AIR Causes the chirping whilst moving the wastegate. Look at any Cosworth video. Also its "how a wastegate works" not "have a wastegate works"

the noise is compressor stall on the turbo it is audible on all petrol turbocharged cars to some degree if you DO NOT have a bov fitted it is made louder through increased boost levels and the use of a cone filter

I will almost bet my last £1 that this car is fitted with a cone filter which is why the noise is amplified. I've been messing around with the YB motor since i was 17! Incidentally; i wouldnt run a car with this power with no BOV; i have seen turbo shafts snap at this level of tune due to turbo stall. anything beyond a t4 requires a dump vale in my opinion. it will depend on boost pressures but i'd hazard a guess this is running over 2 bar (30 psi)

There is not a BOV on this car; all cosworth YB motors make this noise if NOT fitted with a BOV.The noise you hear is actually turbo stall; the noise is created by the compressed air having nowhere to vent to; so it comes back through the turbo and out through the filter.

the sound that u heer is the turbo thats the sound that it makes when the turbo is stalling , goin from high revs to low revs causes this and low revs to high revs ther is air jamin up in the system which does'nt reach the engine which causes the turbo to stall

It was no race, once i seen it was a streetfighter i knew the bike was gonna lose. I'm not a fan of the streetfighter style, shit sucks reduces aerodynamics and makes the bike less powerful, yea its better in the corners and easier to wheelie, but all it does is destroy a beautiful bike. Only way i would ride a bike like that would be for stunting. As for the car SICK!

OK Mr know it all, have you ever noticed why i bike is shaped like a bullet? Its called Aerodynamics By taking off the fairings and pulling the handle bars back and having the rider sit more upright, is reducing the airflow around the bike. Ask anyone who has a streetfighter they all say at times that have trouble out accelerating 600s.

First of all, you said "It makes the bike less powerful." That's completely different from saying "That adds a lot of wind resistance to the bike and rider." Taking fairings off also doesn't "reduce airflow around the bike" either. It just disrupts air a lot more, making it less aerodynamic. I know all about bikes and their different configurations. You're not saying anything that I don't already know. Stop trying to act like you're the end-all expert on the subject.

take a pic or send me a pic of the air inlet manifold from turbo to the inlet butterflies. i have never heard a car make that noise without any sort of BOV that is the only way that noise is created as its the air rushing out from when inlet butterflies are shut and turbo still spinning creating a high pressure and the BOV opens to keep the turbo spinning to reduce turbo lag

@MrHappy100 just been doing some research and found that you dont need a BOV to create a flutter as its just the sound of the turbo fins cutting the pressurized air. its just weird as it sounds so loud, that car could be much quicker if it had a recirc valve!

@gixxerk4600 This noise is called waste gate chatter, you will get this sound from any cosworth with an induction kit that does not have a BOV.. the noise is made from the rapid opening and closing of the internal wastegate when the throttle is closed and the wastegate is trying to regulate the pressure.

Trust me, i know this car, i helped build it. There is no BOV / Dump Valve of any kind. Pipes straight from the turbo to IC, from IC to intake, nothing on the pipes, nada, zip... :)
That is why it makes the sound it does. If you want i can pm you a link to photo of the enginenbay and you can see for yourself.
