in my opinion, I think that this new E class in less luxurious than the previous one..think that is the new E class adjusted with sport , not so much as the S class.. for me, E class has a extremely nice exterior and not so much interior...while S class owns both!!

yeah, The Column Shifter is only on the V6 - &g Trip-Tronic. I4 has the standard Centre lever - 5 sped.

im still confused, weve always had the V6 and one of them has been the 7g still always in the centre console. But anyway, i saw the paddles on the new one, looking forward to trying them and see what they're like, I think they'll be just gimmick because in manual the w211 gear changes are so bad after a minute or so you go back to lazy cruising!

Yeah, my dads current clk280 - v6 - centre console shifter. 7gears. Its just the new Mercs, new design.

The paddles on the clk280 are schocking. Its like right need to change in 3000 revs time therefore ill shift now. Theres a huge delay. And even ini M Mode. Put your foot down and it shift automatically again.

Anyways - maybe this is an improveent. I mean to be hnest weve had the car 3 years used them once. Its more for track racing.

the 4-Cylinder Versions have it in the central and the 6- and 8 Cylinder Versions have it behinf the steering wheel. Just the E63 AMG has a special automatic gearbox in the Center.

We went to check out (all 2009 models) the ES350, GS350, and the E350. The Benz was a utter disappointment....and coudn't even compete with the es350 in power, styling, or comfort.

For me the cockpit evolves in the wrong direction. I strictly dislike any silvery shiny elements in cockpit, its basic ergonomics. Sunlight reflects from these and destructs. I dislike also the sharp edgy shapes. Ugly, is my one word summary. I will stay with a 2003-2004 model until they will redeem themselves!

the luxury edition has a MUCH better interior design execution. I dont like the cheap looking aluminum trim nor the three spoked steering wheel. The luxury trim interior is class leading though

I have not been in this E-Class but it seems the reason why the interior looks bland is due to its priority of the erogonomics of where the buttons should be over "decorating" the interior.

The steering looks to small for an e class... for a C class it would be okay (quite similiar to it) but in an E clas....

And looks like many plastic... Think the actual financial nightmare reached the car manufactors and the quality will become worse again....
