  • Ahh Jack Nicholson we meet again

  • That was a waste of time watching this. Not to mention you made a Mockery of Doctor Who and Jack Nicholson in the "Shining"

  • This scene was cut so much... so now it just looks very silly... The editor thought this would work?... Silly...

  • @2150dalek I think Jon pertwee was fantastic. his stories were brilliant too IMO. Except for the brigadier I thought UNIT was annoying. Useless soldiers get very boring after awhile

  • I thought Dr.Who was getting too cliched soon as I saw the silly ? question marks, lettuce pin, ? umbrella. The show became less classy and more of a copyright. Humor was forced, also. Every actor since 4th doctor seemed to try to out antic the previous one instead of thinking outside the box.

1st,2nd Doctors were the best because the actors were successful in creating unique personas. I'd add the 3rd, however, the show itself was starting to look mass produced using video, lower budgets.

  • @2150dalek Colin Baker's circus jacket was where it started becoming a huge joke for me.

  • @undeadnightorc the perfect smiler face 0:27

  • The literal hanging off a cliff is kind of cool actually. The original series always had good cliffhangers, much better than those stupid next time trailers. Series 5 The Hungry Earth has got the worst cliffhanger, it's not even memorable.

  • @LegoDaleks - What was that cliffhanger, again? (Thereby proving your point, I suppose! Ha.)

  • @jzeta08 The cliffhanger is the Dr. and some woman looking at a bunch of "silurians" in hibernation. The cliffhanger is made worse by the fact that there are only three a season and so one has higher expectations than in the original. Check out my spoof of the episode. The Pandorica cliffhanger seemed good, until you see the next episode where he just gets out using his sonic screwdriver, that is like the epitome of lame. Next time trailers usually ruin cliffhangers in nu-hu anyway.

  • in the script they wrothe that he slipped, but the director cut that bit so it just looks like he's randomly decided to hag off a cliff :/

  • i Gotta make a gif out of his facial expressions... .)

  • ha, cliff hanger. i see what you did there. ;)

  • When I saw in the pick that it was Sylvester I KNEW that it was this one. I couldn't agree more. What was the point to him dangling? No bad guy shows up. At first I was thinking he was trying to get down.

  • Doctor Kolchak: The Night Stalker.

  • Piss funny. :) McCoy was shite.

  • @kezadrone compared to Cartoon Casanova, McCoy is gold.

  • @LegoDaleks :D

  • Is it just me or did it look like Sylvester was CLIMBING DOWN to the ledge? Gotta love it.

  • @holifield39443 In fact, he WAS climbing down to the ledge, it was supposed to look like that, even in the narrative, becuase the corridor he wanted to go through was obstructed by a mass of fallen ice, however, the shot showing the debris was not included for whatever reason, so Sevens antics here now look rather silly and pointless.

  • LOL....litterly a cliffhander XD

  • @StuartTheGamerNerd Tatally LMAO???

  • Wow, what a "Cliffhanger"

  • His face at 0:24 is the face I make when I'm on a rollarcoaster!

  • lol 3 days later..-frozen doctor DUMB-

  • ice monsters are GREEN...

  • It's not an ice monster...

  • Not bad, the 'doctor dumb' sound bit ruins it though

  • 0:40 is that Jack Nicholson's face from the shining?

  • Where did the umberella come from?!

  • @MissyMantha14 The seventh Doctor always carried an Umbrella with a question mark for a handle. At the time some people at the BBC thought they could BRAND Dr. Who and create a Merchandise opportunity while others at the BBC were Dead Set on killing off the show...... The Latter won, for the moment at least until 2005....

  • Great Doctor, terrible cliffhanger ;~)

  • Nahh Sylvester Mccoy rocks! :P

  • Gotta love his face when he's slipping from the umbrella :P

  • the doctor wouldn't have frozen because his body can cope with temperatures as low as -273 (absolute zero)

  • @riaminal true but seeking out to that extreme just ruins the humor value.... Its like if I made a joke about homosexual Yoda riding on Luke's back Going YES FEEL IT FLOW THROUGH YOU! And some one said, Uhm he was talking about the force, not his green penis...

  • @SpyderFilmDayv Terrific. I'll never look at that scene the same way again.

  • @kamwrites your welcome

  • @riaminal Peter Davison said that he could only last 6 hours in Four to Doomsday.

  • @spikespeed125 I'm pretty sure THIS wasn't close to absolute zero though.

  • @riaminal True... True... (I seriously want to make this an animated.gif file XD, Better get my DVD videosoft free youtube download and free video to jpg converter out and use GIMP 2 to animate it.)

  • @riaminal there is not temperature below absolute zero. thats why its called....absolute... zero

  • At least the set is beautiful.

  • actually, the worst cliffhanger was when people zapped a retard from planet of the spiders

  • 7's my favorite, but they really shouldn't have deleated the scene that holds the explanation for the cliffhanger.

Although JNT did have unexplainably strange ways of producing Dr Who

  • @JoeConcerts I don't know if they even recorded it. In the script and novelisation the Doctor is in a tunnel that ends at the cliff-face and he has no option but to climb down to continue, only (IIRC) he misses his footing. However the way it's shot just doesn't convey this at all. The director had a tendency to alter some bits but not others (another was Silver Nemesis where the Cybership lands at the end of part 1 instead of uncloaking having been there all the time).

  • @timrollpickering Ok then. Its just that there really should be logic in just about every sequence in a story. Although the script editors job is to cut down the episode to fit 25 minutes, it probaly would have been a very very short scene of 7 in the tunnel.

  • @JoeConcerts The writer & script-editor put the logic in, but often these things slip by in the studio, especially when time is tight. Here I think the real culprits are the camera angles.

  • That's a cliffhanger alright. Quite literally, as well.

  • I love Dr Who, but this was F***ing hilarious.....

  • The reason why the Doctor was climbing down the cliff is because he couldn't go forwards or go back the way he came so he tried to go down but his hand slipped and he tried to grab onto his umbrella.

  • so why did he decide to hang on the side of a cliff? didn't see thos episode

  • @Smallvillenerd There wasn't a reason, for some strange reason they deleted the scene which had an explanation

  • @AngeloNiklis Jack Nicholson never played the docotr

  • Whose face is that at the end?

  • @meatballguy1 It's Jack Nicholson at the end of The Shining

  • hanging off a cliff nice cliff hanger

  • well its sort of an in joke Cliff hanger

  • @thedoctorand Yeah just look at the 1969 Italian Job ending!

  • the doctor wouldn't have frozen to death though, it wasn't cold enough

  • This lives up to the phrase "cliff-hanger" as he is literally hanging from a cliff :P.

    ~Tim Prince.

  • they should have had him say in a posh british accent " well, this is truly what you call a "cliff-hanger"

  • Whoever thought this cliffhanger might have been a good idea really needs to get out of television and find themselves a better job.

  • wanker!

  • but isn't that suicide?

  • omg what the...

  • lol what the...that was the most laboured slip I've ever seen
