This is my favorite movie Eye have never scene before! Bravo!
You could have called it like "Tsunamiqattsi" or "Oregoncoastaqattsi" because you & this Jethro Tull guy you hired for the score are like the Godfrey Reggio and Phillip Glass for this new-style millennium.
It reminds me of when I went to Lincoln City with this friend of mine from France. He called me "Ami" because it was like French for "Dude" and I asked hymn if he was getting hungry and he replied, "Soon, Ami" and I ran back inland.
I'm really glad that you like this clip so much, and it's always wonderful to hear from you. Yeah, I just snapped a bunch of photos of the beach (which is visible from our upstairs residence), because at the time Pat was too ill to go down there. She LOVES the ocean & our living so close to it. As for the music, I'm floored that a loyal Strummer fan would say anything so kind about such a dinosaur group, but I appreciate your praise. Personally, I'm a little pissed off at Mr. Tull right now...
(continued) As it happens, we've got Tsunamiesque conditions because of the quake elsewhere in the world. We're not supposed to evacuate or anything, but the surf is all muddy-looking, the waves look like they're boiling & the water has sucked out quite a bit from its normal areas. Of course, as the news says NOT to go down to the beach, this is when Pat most wants to go. She's always been big on huge storm-stirred waves & she digs extreme surfs.
Thanks so much. I mainly wanted to give people online a visual sense of what the coastline below our house looks like. Last night we had a huge storm here, and even now it continues to rage. It would be interesting to go out and see what changes have occurred on the beach, but the wind is still too strong for such an errand. :-)
Excellent mix here Gothling, really blends altogether brilliantly, good editing. Also the images really go hand in hand with the music. It makes me want to go there and get on a about and sail the Pacific!
Thanks, Aqua. I'm gradually trying to push myself back into making videos, since it's been too long between uploads. (Though I'll send you one privately that I edited together for my wife & one of her YT friends.) But yeah, it's something of a departure for me to utilize all my own photos for a video, pretty cool. Thanks also for the encouragement on the music mix. At first, I felt it was too choppy, but I've come to like it better in retrospect. I certainly LOVE all of the songs I used.
Well I mean to say boat.....but that sounds alright! Yes I have not been uploading lately do to lack of ideas and motivation. But I'll put something together soon, this certainly is very encouraging. Yeah having your own photos in there makes it a lot more personal and unique, I think the result is superb. I love all these bits of music that you mended together here too, and all of them excellent and really give it an earthy feel. Get that sail boat out!
Okay, you win, we'll get the boat out of moth balls, and you can drive it to your heart's content. Only I'll be waving to you from shore, 'cause I don't go out in or on the bloody water. "Well, I'm an inshore man, and I'm nobody's hero...", as Ian would sing it. Hey, man, there are bloody huge-ass sharks out there looking to eat bloody huge-ass whales. I ain't gettin' involved in the food chain! LOL!!! Bring lots of sun block, and if you need a ship's mate, I'll call up my niece. (hee-hee)
wow!!! what treasure!! i love drift wood. that was some storm. is that a new sandbar? some of that wood looks really embedded in the beach there. must have been amazing to watch. that cabin is really cool and a new wood henge!! such a beautiful place, thanks for this!! i think ian would be fine with your remix. xx
I agree, Sarah. Every day I awaken, come stumbling out, all sleepy-eyed, say "I love you" to Pat, and look happily out the window at our ocean view. Pat saw whales out there again today spouting & splashing. Yes, I thought of wood henge when I saw that circle of logs. And thanks very much for the kind encouragement about the music mix, I appreciate it. I love that music so much, I mainly wanted to piece it together in some sensible & reverent fashion, so I could share it in the time allowed. :-)
