i have a toy poodle and we just have him shaved pretty short all around in the summer and let his fur grow long all around in the winter

its cheaper than maintaining a lot of the show clips :)

I too love the show clip, extremly beautiful. I tried the cut on my standard male but found the upkeep too hard to keep up living in the country :) they are indeed velcro dogs when it comes to stickers :)

Poodles are getting to be really popular again. Every time I take my poodle on a walk there's always some little girl starin at amazement sayin hey looks its a real poodle. And than that same little girl comes up askin if she can pet my dog. Ppl can dis but poodle are awesome dogs, and male poodles can be clipped to look more mascline and not so femine. Either way I love my poodle and she's beautiful.

@MissKriss94 you have to puff the hair out yourself or take her to a groomer. But you can just brush her hair well blow drying it after she gets out of the bath :)

I give mine wonderful little outfits to wear. Yesterday I was dressed in Docs, jeans and a white fitted shirt with a skull on it and lots of silver jewelry..so of course Pepper was outfitted with a faux hawk(the rest is a regular puppy cut), spike collar and "Bad to the Bone" shirt. She even lowers her head so i can put her shirt on! So funny seeing a little 4 pound dog with such a proud walk and a faux hawk. It's like they KNOW they look so awesome and cute.

I love this poodle :D I have one myself, she is almost 7 months old, but her hair is not puffy, like Valentino. Do you know when their adult hair comes in? She is a scraggly curly type at the moment.

@MissKriss94 that because in order to get that fluffy appearance you have to blow dry the hair straight. All poodles have curly hair they just straighten them for the show, but if you got one of those show poodle real wet they'd be curly and the owner would hate you considerin all the time that goes into grooming a poodle.

@MissKriss94 z My mom didnt think I brushed my poodle because her hair was so curly and she kept buggin me bout it, so one day I blow dry my poodle's hair straight and she looked all fluffy and soft as oppose to curly. Its the only way to get that fluffy appearance but its a pain in the butt because if its humid or they get wet the curl comes right back. If I can get a camera I'll post a video of my grey minature poodle.

those funny cuts are usually for show dogs, however, some of them are just more appealing to the dog instead of just a shaved look. I happen to have a poodle and i think this breed is one of the funnest, even though as a child i disliked the breed. btw, great show

Poodles are so great and talented! I don't get why they get cut them like that though. Of course you must cut their hair and take good care of their coat because it grows alot but the "poodle-cut" is not necessary and just looks pretty shallow. I cut mine in a normal haircut that looks good and makes her comftable.

What a BEAUTIFUL poodle!!! Only the ignorant do not understand that this clip is necessary for competing in the shows. But then again, they probably have their ugly poodle / mutts at home, not Champions. GOOD JOB!
