  • @gungho10001 I am in the Print advertising business, I'm a graphic designer.

Jane: I love you Mike. Please don't leave me. Your the co-anchor I have ever know

  • wow i work for that guy now... or with... something like that... jim brinson's a cool guy

  • So, is vid production what Jim is into these days?? I'd almost forgotten about him till this YT sample.

  • He's the main anchor at KSWT in yuma. He's doing news now..

  • Hello! This is Trae Moody. Yes, Chip's son. This is great, I've never seen this before. Would love to see more. Great to see. And thank you for the nice comments about him. :) He will be always be missed.

    R.I.P Dad.

  • Wow, Trae...good to hear from you. Hope you and yours are all right these days. I know your dad thought of you highly over the years. Chip's in a better place, but I'm sure he'd like another go at TV news again. Wish I had some vid samples for you from his 5 & 4 days but I didn't have a VCR till 1987. Surely there are others around with something.

Well, Trae, take care, and yes, your dad is *very* much missed... :(

  • As my friend said when I showed him the Brinson commercial, "He looks like a porn star!" Only in the 70s.

When did Chip Moody move to KDFW 4?

  • Chip jumbed to KDFW in early 1980.

  • On that Jim Brinson commercial, that voiceover sound like Danny Dark.

  • Stay classy Dallas.

  • Oh wow, Chip Moody...he was a hell of an anchor.

  • The woman wearing the red outfit at around 00.17 seconds is Karen Hughes I think.

  • Yep, that's Karen Parfett (sp?), now known as Karen Hughes.

  • Afternoon Delight!

  • Nothing screams '70s like gleaming gold chains getting caught in chest hair.

  • Jim Brinson must have been the sports anchor at Channel 5 before Scott Murray joined in '81, and they let them wear necklaces too. Kind of slick back then.

  • This has got to be from 1974, as that's when the Star 5 logo was first used.

  • @gameshowguy2000 In late 1979, the 1974-present "Star Five" logo got revised as shown in the last promo.

  • Wow...love to know where you got a hold of this gem. Thanks for this. RIP Chip.

  • OUTSTANDING!!!! Got any more from KXAS ACTION NEWS in the late 70s?
