I owe you for uploading this. Glad I figured this out before I was even finished my first semester at college.
Although I must admit, I don't know if anything can protect us now. It doesn't matter how well you can take care of yourself if the system itself caves in on top of you.

@MikuMech i been living without a credit card for 5 years now..
i only use cash... it takes effort but that way you really get smart and live under budget. i make about 28k a year and somehow i have all that i need and some more.
i own designer furniture, a vintage car and very few gadgets but good ones.
on my income people are poor... not only i am not,, i am able to save for a home.
seriously, not owning a credit card is like getting clean from crack... life becomes clear.

@TheBestGuitarSoloEVR NO, fully restored 1972 volkswagen karmann ghia , motor not original, much better. cost of the car, 5000, cost of the motor 4000 , total cost of my car after repairs, 11000. i also play guitar, but i dont own vintage ones, those are totally overpriced.

This is capitalism,no? I'm sure that if anyone of us owns one of those banks, we will be happy because we are making money. But seeing that we are in the "paying side" and not in the "receiving side" everybody panic!! Read carefully your credit cards contract, get a full health, job, car and house insurance, don't buy thing that you are not able to afford!! Is you can afford a full health insurance, then you cannot afford to have a 10000$ credit card with a 25% rates!! Isn't SO clear??!!

Here's how you start to fix all these problems
Everyone.
Take that credit card and cut it up.
Call them and cancel the account.
Dont just stop useing it because they are working on a new penalty charge for "NOT USING" your card.
they will crap themselves when 40 million people call them up.. Then they wont have a choice but to fix it. Its as easy as that...
I declare March 1st 2010 the day we all call your card Co and take control.. pass it on.
