All I can say that a 25 year-old David Soul wearing buffalo plaid and singing so beautifully makes a girl weak!! We all make mistakes in our personal lives. Noone's perfect. So why drag Soul back into the "wife-beating" accusations...Just no point to it. Let's focus on the positive: He was strikingly handsome, athletic, and an excellent musician. I am friends with sons Brendan and Andrew and although people think they know what they are talking about....some of you need to be reinformed and I think phillybabe has done that very well. We all have issues at one point in our life but David is a very kind man.

About the beatings - you shouldnt believe everything you read. Those were allegations, never founded. David admitted to having a bad temper and got help for his anger problem. That was it.

David Soul was easier to take with the brown bag over his head as the "unknown singer" on Merv Griffin's old show. As a critic said then, "for a big man he has a small voice". In true dirtbag style, he seduced his friends wife (Patti Sherman) & pleaded no contest to domestic battery, a nice euphemism for wife beating....he & Bob Dylan have that in common. I remember all this from the AP news years ago.

I dont know about you, but if I was happy with my guy, then no amount of seduction in the world would take me from him. Patti was a MARRIED woman who allowed a single man to seduce her. I would question her morality instead of calling David a dirtbag.

For the record: Patti was divorced from Bobby in 1976. David was married to Karen Carlson at that time. He and Patti got married in the early 80's although they knew each other for years. So there was no seduction by David on Bobby's wife. Therefore, hes not the dirtball you accused him of being.

So, if you got all that previous misinformation from the AP, then you were lied too. And I say it again, you cant believe everything you read.
