A leader same as Gandhi, Luther King and Mondella who went beyond their personal or even national interrests and targetted human salvation. Mossadegh was a traitor. I am sick and tired of hearing and reading the wrong perception that people have of him. In the final analysis he was nothing but a traitor who broke his promised as he had sworn to it to be the defender of the Iran's constitution. In the end he just ended up being a communist toy.

In a democracy you try to have the intelligent to respect everyone's view and understand the logic behind that view. Otherwise one becomes nothing more than just a hezb-o-alla-hi or a member of the Mojahedin-eh-khalgh!
So my advice to you(for what is its worth) is to be more tolerant of different views (even though they may as outragous as you come to believe). Only then everyone can live in a civil harmonic progressive society.

Mossadegh broke his promise to defend Iran's constitution? Democracy is fragile, and crumbles if placed under enough pressures. Most democracies allow for suspension of democratic process in such times. We call it "martial law". Iran's was a young democracy and the US and the British, two powerful nations, conspired to overturn it. Before that the US and Iran were allies. Blaming Mossadegh for doing what he did is blaming the victim. Hypocritical. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Mossadeq did it only for defensive purposes and it is fair to believe he would have reinstated it after the British and American threat of bribery and economic strangle hold ended.
