Anyway, fear of death is not natural curiosity for seeking god. People will happily accept any explanation that tells them they're not going to die. Religion was invented to keep people in line when there was no government or police.

And atheism is not about being pessimistic, it's about being realistic.

I also find it more rewarding to be a good person when you're not being forced to by some deity with the threat of hell.

Let's get back to your original point. Fear of death is not natural curiosity for seeking God. I agree. They are not the same thing. Fear of death keeps you alive but eventually you will die which is why we all have that natural curiosity. Religion was created for us to keep us in line, you're right. But not by man, but by God. Atheists are pessimists because you believe when we die we are no different than the dirt. That is pessimistic and a poor reflection of your value of humanity.

A fruit fly can mutate but we still call it a fruit fly. The theory is that over a million years this fruity fly will be a completely different creature. To prove with objective evidence that we came from monkeys would mean constant observation over at least 100,000 to 200,000 or a million years to make sure it is true. That is objective evidence. Although evolution does have merit and I do believe it is true. But remember evolution doesn't explain origins of life but only the process.

By sending down his son to die in that horrible way, God is showing us that he understands the pain we go through on earth. Without suffering we can't know the difference between good and evil. By sacrificing himself the way he did and resurrecting he shows us that there is more to us than our physical bodies. Of course all this is hard to believe because it's technically hearsay. But I say this, trust in your fellow man, submit to the Lord and fear him. It will make you a better person.
