WP: I had never watched the original program when I got in contact with the text of "Ravens" through this video of yours. And I have found it great! In fact, I subscribed to your channel and I greet you for your talent. Thank You!
I tried the raven thing for myself, it seems that ravens can swin underwater but then die 20 seconds later. I'll probably send you the video of how that works. Weed helps....
The text is wrong. The Ravens sketch survived, thankfully, but most of the shows are missing. The BBC erased a lot of their classic programs simply to reuse the tapes. A big loss to us.
I think you can be proud of your go at recreating a Pete & Dud classic, and any comments to having lost the flair and so on,from people(who SO need to take a chill pill)should be disregarded instantly!
I think it's a given that I'm not Peter Cook or Dudley Moore, and if I merely tried to mimic their performances there'd be no point in doing it at all.
What are these "essential elements" you speak of? Beyond the fact that Peter Cook was a genius and I'm just a guy on YouTube?
Pflueckebeutel is the name of the raven in German fable. It hit me when I came across this video. At the moment I'm flying under water, 13 days left until I'm allowed to return to the surface. Hoping not to drown, yours,
Peter Cook performed at and had a big impact on Footlights, the Cambridge University comedy/theatrical club. Over the years it's been hugely influential on British comedy - John Cleese, Graham Chapman and Eric Idle performed there a little later along with an amazingly long list of British comedians (Stephen Fry, Hugh Laurie, Clive Anderson, Griff Rhys Jones, Hugh Dennis...)
Oh Lord, how are you not winning an Oscar yet? Haha. C'mon, bff, Hollywood is waiting for you. You shouldn't be waiting around for Hollywood! Go, go, go! Stop wasting your time on YouTube! (Actually, I'd be a little sad if you stopped posting on YouTube..I'd have nothing to make me laugh anymore.)
Just be feautured already! It's so good, oh man, I keep clicking on videos ready to be dissapointed, like I have on other channels. I haven't been able to find any poor-quality clips here. Well done.
I think "Good Greebling" about sums it up, old chap. Chin up, stiff upper and all of that! A true Brit could hardly have done it more spot on. And a dashing old bloke he was, too. Tally Ho!

I suggest you check out Clarke and Dawe, it's allot funnier if you know Australian politics. But Front Fell Off is a good sketch for everyone.

this is so much like monthy python and thats a compliment . grate one

The reason this is like python, good eye, is because peter cook wrote this and the pythons were fans of his and influenced by him.

Hi BrettAdam, didn't one of his vids over at his Church of Blow channel, get featured at some point?
sardynox 4 years ago 2
Yeah, it did, but I wanna' see the WeepingProphet stuff get featured. It's a bit more clever and even, should I say, high-brow.
