  • "i already know, i'm sorry to have kept you waiting" i wonder is this the true fulcrum of the story, is this really what the tale was all about, not the rise to power, the duty of position, envy etc and all that and is it really about how good will come from bad, how a disaster can be in a twisted way the greatest thing. i say that as the duchess finally cares, lets her guard down, no more show, no more playing her part/ is it like that in the book?

  • people mowping about, "huff huff, not like the book, that's wrong, this is wrong" but if u cracked the skull of a thousand readers to see their minds, all would have read it differently. My comment though is about the look of this drama. the set design, the art directio, so lavish ,so wonderfull. looks expensive and for a tv series, looks like a big budget hollywood job, u cqn tell hollywood didn't make this, as its not fucked up to sunday.

  • i like Fushcia's death in the book better see she thinks about suicide but decides not to. Then just as she's climbing back in, she was startled by the door opening and fell out. That was to show her child like personality was with her up until her death

  • A bittersweet ending to a truly great movie. But the cooks call now to an even greater tale!

  • "You got lucky." Haha, I love that. Reminds me of another villain who was sentenced to death. His last words were,"If I've done anything good in my life, I repent it."

  • From book to film is like the sublime to the ridiculous.

What director could ever hope to make M.P?

  • Pity they didn't include the 3rd book, Titus Alone.....

  • I hate Titus, he is a weak response for a Prince to rule, Steerpike would have been a better prince or king, at least he knew what he wanted, Titus knows shit...

  • I like the tear. She has for her daughter that she could never bring herself to care for.

  • But where Steerpike come from? What is his origin?(it's very intriguing)

  • @Snejanna1

he was born in the castle, the son of a servant, and the decendant of many who had worked and lived in the castle since it was built, hundreds of years before. he probably had royal blood in him to some degree. the royals will have bread with their female and male servants. he may have even been an illigitimate brother of Titus. or a perhaps steerpike's father was an illigitamate son of the previous earl, making them cousins.

they all interbred, this is post apocolypse.

  • Learn to swim if you live near water. The author of the trilogy died before the third book was ready for publication... I wonder, if that is why the last book lost its continuity and definition.

  • In the book Fuchsia does think about suicide but she changes her mind. Unfortunately though she's startled and falls. :(

  • They should have made a longer scene about Fuchsia's death. It's the saddest chapter in any book ever. Seriously. I cried so hard when I first read it.

  • Hi necaeosomnes i agree with you there. Fuchsia was my favourite charactor-a gentle wild child. " Her need for love had never been fulfilled ; her love for others had never been suspected,or wanted. Rich as a dusky orchard, she had never been discovered. Her green boughs had been spread, but no travellers came and rested in their shade nor tasted the sweet fruit " Poor Fuchsia!

  • I've not yet read the books. Am I to understand that Fuschia is NOT the same self-centred halfwit as in the miniseries?

  • Read the comment above

  • @phytoalexa No...she was FAR from it--in fact, she was probably the only sympathetic character in the books. Steerpike was an evil, evil--UGLY looking ass. :D No pretty boy Johnathan Rhys-Meyers...

  • @veggiebiker That's so beautiful...

  • @veggiebiker Whole book was retorted and had no point, Mr Peake killed everyone one by one, BAM Earl is gone, Sourdust, Keda, Barquentine, Twins, Flay, (Swelter deserved it) Thing, Fuchsia, fucking Steerpike retarded TITUs left alone to jerkoff with his mother. But he left the castle to get even more retarded.

  • Same :(

  • @necaeosomnes

I agree. I think they made her death kind of abrupt and anti climactic.

  • Geezus, the movie death is, if possible, even WORSE than the book death.

  • OH!!! thank you so so much.

  • They won't let me put it up, sorry. I have tryed. But I'll try again.

  • So, part 7 will be the last part?...

  • ok it seems to have worked now.
