  • "The question we ask today is not whether our government is too big or too small but whether it WORKS....

(....on putting you shit for brains sheeple with a succesful rate into 600 FEMA camps all throughout our glorious Nation of the Elite, hail satan.")

  • Ron Paul 2012

  • if more government were the solution, why doesn't the goverment simply employ every single american as federal bureaucrat? You see the flaw of "goverment can solve problems"?

  • haha at 4:40. "Has our government gotten to big, does it need to shit a few pounds." Our government needs to take Ex Lax.

  • Ron Paul 2012! Make sure that every single youtube video has Ron Paul 2012. No matter if its about Ron Paul or if its even about politics. Every single youtube video! Ron Paul 2012.

    Pass this on!

  • America jails more people than any other country in the world. If that isn't a signal that we need to lsiten to Ron Pauls ideas on the drug war regarding liberty and personal responcibility I don't know what is. 25% of our population is in prison and to much is because of simple possession. No one should be in jail who's only crime is hurting themselves.

  • acid rain? That's funny. That was an 80's style scare tactic. It was a simpler time.

  • the environmental protection agency? LMFAO! Orwellian misnomer at its finest. SHould be called the environmental DESTRUCTION agency. From taoxic fluoride in the water we drink, poisonous additives, preservaties and other chemicals in everything we eat, devastation of plant life and crops by corporations, , extinction of wildlife by same corporations, oil spills, man made diseases, Haarp and man made catastrophes, the polluted air we breath in our lungs, the EPA does everything but protect

  • Gee how about sharing responsibility with state and local governments.... can't have that gots to have an all powerful titan of a government. Nothin but a Bunch of fascist scumbags in both parties that's why the government is a joke.

  • governments = bad

  • Ron Paul for President 2012

  • Nothing ever changes. Hierarchies are, sadly, intrinsic to the human race. The elite have control over money, thus over politics, thus over the people. It's as simple as that. That's why communism nor capitalism works. Unfortunately, greed rules the world.

    Nobody is neutral.

  • Acid rain! are you Freakin serious..And that dumb bitch agrees "right". What a bunch of MORONS!...Durrr duhh we dont have acid rain do we...durrr thats what matters duuhhhrgg....OMFG , this country is FUBAR!

  • zietguest for life. venus project believer for life, Real freedom for life. The world is a business there is no democracy. technology and science is being suppressed. Its time for a real solution, Real ideals and philosophy.

  • If acid rain is big governments only real sucess, which by the way also could have be sorted out by a much smaller government then the case is clear. Start listening to Ron Paul and other Austrian ecomomists and see what they have to say!!!!

  • That's the beauty of Academia. People are listened too on the merits of there ideas. More so now than at any other time in the past. The problem with Hayek is many of the predictions never came true. Another problem is they don't take into any account scientific realities.

  • I feel it is not really important if Hayek's predictions came true or not, What is wrong with minimum government and sound money, while protecting the rights of the individual? A true free market is when we have non government intervention in the markets, right now the politicians are working for big business, not the people. Don't know what you mean by scientific realities??

  • I mention his prediction as a lot of talk on-line paints Hayek as a fiscal and economic nostradamus when that is not very accurate.

In my opinion and many others a true free market is not only impractical, its also sub-optimal.

Scientific realities, For example massive over fishing in Europe. The Chicago school says; if there are fish and it makes a profit... fish". End of story. When its biological reality fish don't breed as fast as we may want the fishing industry to grow.

  • @CmdrTobs But what happen when the number of fish start dropping? The price of fish increases and people seek alternatives to the fish. Demand for the fish goes down so fewer people fish, so fish populations increase. Then the cycles starts all over again.

  • @PissedFechtmeister Wrong.

    Ok here is scientific reality.

+Fish are also eaten by predators that don't feel market forces.

+Also there're 'plenty' of fish left before we crash the population, fish take time to reach adolescence and we continue to fish immature fish (which is what we are doing in many areas in Europe) worse yet adolescent fish fetch a lower price on the market so fishermen fish more so in reality the market accelerates decline.

  • While private activity must grow by its own merits, slowly and organically, government organizations can be simply mandated into place, regardless of merits. This is why government will continue to crowd out private activity. This process goes on until the host can no longer sustain the load, and dies.

  • All the guy said was that "we used to HEAR about acid rain and now we don't HEAR about acid rain anymore." In other words, it was another made-up media hysteria. The guy never said that we, as citizens, used to feel the effects of acid rain and now we don't feel anymore effects. Thats because there were no effects.

  • @jmccor00

Just like we used to hear about global cooling in the 70's. The swine flu in the 70's. (in which more people died from the vaccine than they did from the flu itself) The government is the problem. We need government reform or nothing will ever change.

  • Good point.

  • @jmccor00 that guy is a idiot. He was on I forget whose show and they were telling him "so what are you telling us? What actual data that we don't already know have you came up with". He didn't know. hahaha

  • Carol Costello is a bimbo

  • We need to stop voting dems or reps and vote 3erd party dems and rep are one in the same owned by the same deep pockettes.

  • just me or is cnn moving a bit to the right? maybe its the reporter, or maybe everyone is waking up

  • it's not "right" or "left" actually, more of a common sense approach.

  • yes that was i was thinking. hopefully people are just coming to their senses

  • Comment removed

  • Ron Paul is the fu*king truth. Excuse my vulgar language but, I am not only "extremely educated" but I was raised liberal. This man not only changed my political view point, he somewhat restored my faith in politics in general.

Ron Paul, there are countless people (hispanics and african-americans included) in the metropolitan area (North Jersey/New York City) behind you. We love you. You fight for freedom when you could have sat back a wealthy old white man for the rest of your life. Ty..

  • Hard to call a man 'the truth' when he doubts evolution on an irrational basis.

  • Hmm...let's see, audit federal reserve and quit arguing over which puppet is in office.

  • wow. CNN had a descent story. cool...

  • That was awesome! One of the first decent stories I've ever seen on CNN. It's time to shrink government and bring the troops home!!!

  • "obama must convince america that government can work, even if its big."

oh ya, cause history shows that governments are so well coordinated and peace making...

    FUCKING PEOPLE WAKE UP!!

  • we dont hear anything about acid rain????? doesnt mean our rain is clean you dumb little nerd!!

I guess that asshole doesnt know what atrazine is!! he should ask bush. he was the one who allowed it to be used on american crops...after it was banned in its home country and all of europe!!! after it started turning all animals into females and who knows what else!!!

  • yes, i had to laugh at that..there are people who actually think the EPA stopped "acid rain"...

  • Well it certainly wasn't small government. Tackling acid rain takes massive international government.

Some places acid rain may even perhaps be BENEFICIAL given there limy soils. People there would never quit burning sulfer even if it caused US buildings to crumble and Mexicos harvest to die.

That's why we needed international efforts. The biggest government of all. As the affects are not globally the same, but the causes are.

  • Uhm, I don't know about William Eggers logic there....He declares that acid rain is no longer a problem because we don't hear anything about it. That's like saying, "Oh, gee, that ulcer doesn't hurt today like it hurt yesterday. It must be taken care of."

  • Aren't there some especially dumb animals that think like that?

  • That was extremely asinine.

He gave NO rational behind acid rain not being a problem.

He simply stated the problem had been solved. He merely suggested why it's not an on going news story any more.

He did not say "our best data is the fact the news has not mentioned it..." because that's what you are suggesting. I think you need to check the definition of 'rational' friend.

  • Both Republican & Democrat are only tools from the Government. If you are on one from them you are lost in Government's hand. But remember you are Individual you are what you are, not Republican & not Democrat.

  • I vote Carol news Lady as President she could do it better & easy on eyes, Pass New regulation no more regulation without doing away with 100 old regulation

  • Liberals and democrats love to use ,abuse, and manipulate most minorities in order to futher their purpose of turning America in to a Communist country all just to join the NWO run by the UN!

  • More like the biggest winner. Enjoy your economic slavery.

    You know he's right.

  • @spareaxe you spelled winner wrong. It's "w-i-n-n-e-r" Cool comment though!

  • @spareaxe Guess you hate hearing the truth. Like being a dumb sheep? bah bah!

  • Trying to do too many things?

They citied 160,000 pages of regulation; however we have 300,000,000+ people in the United States. The problem is not that government is trying to do too much; it is that they are trying to do too much with too small of a minority (we have 1 POTUS, 535 Members of Congress, 9 Supreme Court Justices... and a few more; to represent hundreds of millions of people).

A well formed direct democracy would work better.

  • Obama is Evil Incarnate

  • Big Government takes away freedom and wages. We need someone who has the guts to cut all the poorly run and failed programs that waste billions of tax dollars. We need someone to cut federal aid to states and corporate welfare. Someone who can't or isn't bought off. We need and independent who isn't afraid to do the right thing.

  • Ron Paul 2012!

  • the government needs bypass surgery.

  • Acid rain and the Marshall Plan? That's it?

  • If you don't like big goverment, vote Democratic.

It's true. In the last 100 years, government has consistently grown more under Republicans than under Democrats. In that period, two Presidents actually made the Federal goverment smaller--Truman and Clinton.

Granted, Obama looks to be the exception. I think Obama is a neocon.

  • Presidents do not grow government without the help or hindrance of congress. The reason Clinton did not grow government was NOT because he didn't try... If the Rep Congress was not a large majority, things would have looked much different...

  • Not true--Clinton-Gore DID try to make government smaller. They eliminated duplication, threw out outmoded rules, etc. Of course it was done without any help from Congress.

  • I'd rather have DC nuked than chance a democrat controlled government getting rid of the income tax, the department of education and big government in general.

  • God your so fucking stupid.

    Democrats = Big government.

    Republican libertarian = freedom

  • Republican = Fascist

  • True. But Democrat = Fascist as well.

  • Stop! You're both right! :p

The American Progressive movement of the early 20th Century were the Fascists. They even admitted it plainly before the US entered WWII and "fascism" became a bad word. Early 20th Century Progressivism cut across party lines. Republicans AND Democrats were both Progressives.

  • 1 in 5 Government employees make OVER $100,000/yr IN SALARY (not including benefits)

Worse then Law Firms, Medical firms, Insurance firms, BIG OIL, even Finance and Banking.

    Who will cut government?

  • Big Government will always have holes for corruption.

  • It's time to take America back people.

It's time for them to GOOOH.

Should the people have real representation in the government?

Shouldn't that representative be held responsible to those that voted for him or her?

Shouldn't that representative sign a contract to serve the way the people want?

Let's get rid of the two party system and go with a common sense system.

  • Bull crap! "Many Americans believe obama is trying to solve problems"? What an outrageous lie! Most Americans have been fooled by the democrats is what she should have said. It was Bill Clinton that started, "rendition," during his first term. Now the democrats are blaming the bush admin just like they did with the first Tarp bailout that they created and pushed through. When are they going to realize the jig is up? The American people are wise to their tactics now! Were going to vote them out!

  • I bet this tool would have said Global Warming too lol

  • That's because acid rain was a bunch of bullshit.

This Eggers guy is a joke...just riding the populist wave to riches.

  • Media shills. Have you not figured it out YET! The government has been taken over by criminals. You all worked hard looking into the cameras and pushing for the corrupt. You all FAILED! You should have pushed for Dr. Paul when you had the chance. Now you reap what you sew. FTNWO

  • Most progressives feel the same way Ron Paul does...nothing has changed...

Tell that to the crazies that started screaming "socialism/communism" and any other "ism" they could pronounce, the day he took office...

  • here's an even better and faster way to shrink govt. than voting for certain candidates, let the bastards destroy their golden goose, the currency.

    BRING ON KATASTROPHENHAUSSE!

  • ...and nothing ever will change, until the electorate gets off its ignorant apathetic asses!

They only continue to do what they do, because the electorate keeps putting them back in office.

If YOU will stop, THEY will stop, because they will be GONE!

  • What has changed is, we have a black liar instead of a white liar.

  • racist. you must be an asian or something j/k

  • The point is not racism , the point is,Obama continued where Bush left off and is worse than Bush. Pay attention.

  • @rollsthepaul Amen!

  • j/k means "just kidding".. i was impersonating those who feel the need to constantly immerse in the mental state of playing victims of social injustice instead of contributing to the society which is a natural and obvious way to reap real rewards much more effectively than grieving and complaining.. but i'm no longer surprised by liberty minded individuals and some of their lack of appetite for humor at times as i often am the same, so oh well.

  • I believe Obama can EMU because he is NFG and if he thinks he'll get a second term well NFW. It's just TFB that the DNC are such a pile of CSW's. Just had to get that off my chest.

  • @rollsthepaul Good way to put it, roll. RN

  • Uncle Sam needs gastric bypass.

  • It's time to break out the Government Liposuction Machine!

    Ron Paul for President 2012!

    END The FED

    END The WARS

    END Occupation

  • Government is essentially the negation of liberty.

    - Ludwig Von Mises

  • Indeed. It is quite unfortunate that so many fools still persist otherwise.

  • @jscott2700 Ludwig Von Mises is the MAN!

  • Lol@idiots who pronounce it "inaugYURation". Come on, guys. You just sound stupid saying it that way. Say "inaugERRation" like a normal person. Stupid journalist elites.

  • do we not see the idea of business?

a place of employment has to keep wages at a low at all costs. at times to keep the costs of running the business low it may be a great idea to simply downsize the crew. we need to keep congress and senate low by never re-elcting "ANY" seat, ever and after we select the person for our seat in the halls of we the peoples congress we keep tabs on every single vote and thing that person does. by the way you all do realize its our congress lets take it back

  • 4:17 wow, things suddenly get uncomfortable between him and her, lol

  • Paul is a mixed bag from wise insight to being a loon, the loony part stems from ideology.

Yes nothing has changed nor should anyone have expected it to as the Dems are owned by the same financial interests as the repubs. That is where Paul falls off the deep end. His focus is that Gov alone is bad yet Gov. IS the very financial/corporate interests that Paul and other Libertarians think do no wrong. Business owns the Gov. which is why policies favor them over the public, why nothing changes.

  • umm no shit?

That's why he's really active about preaching the corruption and doom faced by America so that we as a public would fight the government or at east deter its size.

  • You're not saying anything new, stupid. It's just odd that you call Ron Paul a lunatic when his views are what really need to be adopted. it might be unrealistic sometimes, but that is what we should be striving for in many cases. Just because we want to do something right doesn't mean it's crazy. And he doesn't want to abolish the government as if he is an anarchist, you moron.

  • Ron Paul has often times been irroneously accused of "wanting to abolish government." It is an extremely irrational charge considering his constitutional principles, for the latter calls for the existence of a government, albeit quite small.

It is extremely difficult to consider "small government" ideas as rational since we have grown up in a society dominated by big government. In other words, people simply do not possess a frame of reference in their everyday lives.

  • Your knowledge of history matches your language skills. In my own lifetime most ordinary families went from being able to provide for themselves on one income to now both parents have to work -- if they can get work. Government programs have robbed the people blind and now have run the economy into bankruptcy. And far worse times are ahead, the depression is just getting started; other countries are beginning to run from the dollar. We are sliding into poverty with your bloated government.

  • leaf - Your knowledge of me is as hollow as your comment. Why do your kind always project nonsense onto me? Just curious, is it in the cult handbook?

First you never said a thing about where I was wrong regarding history. Actually if you had a clue as to who I am you would know I constantly decry the erosion of the middle/working class.

My bloated Gov.? Actually its the corporations Gov. and they are the ones who have run the country into bankruptcy. Get educated bub.

  • It is your beloved bloated government that created and maintains the corporations and granted them the special privileges that allow them to increase at the expense of small businesses and consumers. But corporatism and banksters fund the bureaucracy, the system of special privilege for the moneyed class and politically-connected feeders at the public trough.

  • Look up the work by Gabriel Kolko. Regulation and big-business is Briar Rabbit and the Briar Patch (..."please don't throw me in"). Regulation is embraced by big business because it limits entry to smaller, innovative competitors (who cannot afford compliance costs). Regulation limits competition and that empowers the big players who supported the regulation to begin with.

Without government, competition would be cutthroat. Bad news for big business, great news for consumers.

  • walmart lobbies for higher minimum wage

  • Because it will drive out more of their retail competitors.

  • Businesses exist to serve you with services and goods. If they don't serve your interests, you can protest by not buying their goods, and then they go bankrupt. Every dollar spent is a democratic vote for your interests.

Government exists to serve those who want to control other people. If they don't serve your interests, and you protest, you go to jail.

It was businesses that brought this country into the greatest prosperity ever seen in mankind, and it's gov't that's doing us in.

  • @mashed107 Thanks for the elementary school book theoretical version of business. Never mind that that has nothing to do with the real world. Sorry but you posted a fiction.

  • The fiction that you believe in is that the government can provide prosperity, when ALL throughout history that has never, ever, ever been empirically shown to be true.

  • its not that the corporations can do no wrong, its that in the absence of an interventionist state, there cease to be massive perversions of the economy. the things people thoughtlessly fear and dread about businesses can easily be dealt with by actions taken against fraud, coercion and sabotage. there is no need for excessive economy draining bureaucracies, just a flexible, accountable to the masses security and justice system or industry as i prefer.

  • chainz - "in the absence of an interventionist state, there cease to be massive perversions of the economy"

Based on what? The Libertarian books you've read? Sorry to break it to you but when the US was closer to the Lib ideal it was a nightmare for most. People were free to starve, have their children work to survive, be serfs to corporate power with zero work stability, no security, obediance to the employer or not work and get blackballed etc. Sorry I dont want to back to those days.

  • Comment removed

  • actually i get that from my economic and sociology studies. and people starving comes from poverty. humanity had to rise from poverty through industrial innovations, the government does not just magically provide wealth. the same goes with children working to survive. and did you read the rest of my comment? if you want to debate my end theory refute my supporting claims, not your prejudices about libertarianism.

  • she was wrong when she said "its nealy imposible to downsize gov." what we all know is every thing passed has a date of expiration. so we all vote on new senate and congress every chance just like this mas. brown who was voted in never re-elect any government seat ever again and make sure the ones we vote in do not continue the old crappy policies that do nothing but create more burocracies

    see

    kickthemallout . com

  • ahahaha "Acid Rain...Right?!" ....rigghhhttttt

  • As half of America already knows, something like 80% of the federal budget goes to just FOUR items:

    1. Medicare/Medicaid

    2. Social Security

    3. interest on the national debt, and

    4. The ever-growing Department of Defense.

Medicare, Medicaid, and Social Security is just money that ordinary Americans pay to themselves. Literally. There is very little overhead.

The obvious solution, health care reform, has just been blocked by the Republicans.

    Now we're screwed.

  • "80% of the federal budget 1.4 Trillion US government deficit"

The Federal Reserve issued and bought 80% of their own debt.

That's why counterfeiting money is so dangerous your standard of living becomes an illusion. When you wake up to the reality you're dead. That's been the plan since 1913.

Incremental complex subversive agenda of the central bank. Take a real good look at Haiti that's going to be the standard of living in the USA. Planned for in 1913 every fiat currency has failed.

  • Medicare, Medicaid, and social security by no means is "little overhead." These welfare programs contribute roughly 30% of the federal deficit and will increase even further in the future.

It was ideal for health care reform to be blocked since we can't really afford it. What we need to do now is stop policing the world.

Look America is already doomed for high inflation in the future, but we can mitigate the dramatic effect by limiting government now.

  • you'll most likely experience hyperinflation because there is no way obama is changing his spending habits and there's no way that bernake has any clue what he's doing. Your country is run by a buncha dbags... vote in a smart repub-libertarian and you'll find answers

  • You cut spending by

    1. good government and

    2. good management of the Defense Department.

All the Republicans have to offer is no-bid contracts and infinitely large military contracts that they don't pay for. They just borrow.

  • Like it's not obvious there's NO DIFFERENCE in the agenda's from both parties.

Detroit is a "lib" town, and has been forever.

You really are "touched" and very reliable in that aspect.

  • cut spending by "good government? what does that even mean??

  • All we have to do to shrink government and balance the budget is to stop spending hundreds of billions of dollars killing hundreds of thousands of innocent people overseas.

The Republican Party is welcome to find some waste or some fraud or some abuse in the federal budget. From Ronald Reagan writing budgets in the 1980s to the Radical Republican Representatives impeaching people and spending like drunkards more recently . . .

    they haven't found any.

    They are a fraud.

  • "Acid Rain?" That's he best you could come up with? What a douche.

  • Wow love the end there. It doesnt take politicians to shrink government its going to take 2 million outraged people at congress's door step demanding it.

  • The media loves to ask the wrong questions in regards to issues like this. Is the government too big? Of course it is. So let's address how it got to that point instead of discussing the obvious. Is big government working in the best interest of the people? Of course not or it wouldn't be spending our money into oblivion in order to benefit banks and corporations. Mark Twain said "if you don't read a newspaper you're uninformed, if you do read a newspaper your misinformed." It applies today too.

  • Government is like a computer - if you have loads of software and programs which aren't neccassary because you don't use them, the computer slows, viruses can occur and the systems don't run properly. Have a computer with a few programs that are used and the computer runs 10 x faster and better because it's small and efficient!

  • At 1:19 my sentiments exactly.

I voted for Obama, and like Ron Paul, I too expected nothing. I was correct.

    Get your war on.

  • END THE FED NOW!

  • Bigger Gov. means Bigger Problems!

  • "Republican who leans Libertarian"...

sorry...wrong...he IS a Libertarian who is forced to be Republican in order to get on ballots...plus, he is trying to get his voice (the American Freedom voice) out to a larger audience...its like using a megaphone (Republican Party) to using just your mouth (the Libertarian Party) when comparing size...

I applaud Ron Paul for at least doing something...and putting his best effort at it.

  • Shrinking a government takes a depression, and a revolt.

  • I'm not sure how people can see a difference between big government and big corporations, when they both need eachother to even exist in their current form.

  • I'm cool with big government. I don't like the idea of only a few people in charge. That's when the Christians take over. We need more accountability and ethics in government. Why would we want to be moving backwards? If you ask me, an issue we have is that this government of representatives is outdated. EVERYONE should have a vote. Then we need to step up the education so that more people will choose to participate and have their voice not only be heard, but be counted.

  • Accountability? How are you going to get accountability when you think "everyone should have a vote"? Are you going to hold 30 million people accountable? Good luck with that.

  • You sound properly prepared to enter the big government propaganda machine.

"If you ask me, an issue we have is that this government of representatives is outdated."

Do some historical research on America and then express your opinions. There is no perfect form of government, but our constitutional republic is the best the world has ever seen. Unfortunately, it's health is dependent on an informed and educated populace to defend it's principles.

  • Carol Costello needs an acting gig, or to take it easy. This piece was sort of useless in that it doesn't tell us what it means. It doesn't say which parts of govt need to be big or small, or why.

  • Big gov't is in bed with big business, democrat or republican it doesn't matter.

  • Anyone else notice how since the Mass. election the news stations that down played the tea party movements are now reporting about them.

  • thanks for posting man

  • @kevmo99 it's both.

  • @eiffuy Not true. There are many governments that are much larger than the USA in term of the size of their bureaucracy (see Europe) and many of those nations are not as corrupt as the US government.

  • My God, you're right. I complete forgot about Europe.

  • I hope that others will find it funny that I forgot the "ly".

  • @eiffuy no kevmo99 is not right. u.s has highest pub. expenditure in the world. even though we have lower % of gdp for pub. spending than europe, our gdp is higher and our lower % of gdp for pub. spending is actually more money than europe's higher percentage.. lobbyists lobby our govt because our govt affects more people/more public spending.

  • I know, I was just being facetious. I again assert that its both the size of government and it's transparency that everyone should be concerned with.

There is no need for a large government, if it was transparent, because people would see that they wouldn't need a large government and could govern their own individual actions.

  • The limit as to how big a parasite can grow is a function of how big the host is.

Big hosts attract big parasites and small hosts attract small parasites.

  • @bugsbugmenot - well said bugsy

  • @bugsbugmenot Transparency would not allow the parasite to grow regardless of the size of the host, to continue your analogy. Without transparency, the parasite would grow undetected in either host.

Also, if you don't have government (the representatives of the people) in charge you have the corporations in charge (who only serve profit), And they are the motherfucking parasite.

  • kevmo99 the biggest pub. spender in the world is u.s. countries of euro have higher % of gdp for pub. spending but since they have lower gdp & their govt affects less people (because of lower population), they might not be as corrupt, because lobbyists want to control govt that affects more ppl. we have lobbyists because our govt controls more ppl. europe has higher % of gdp for govt spending so they got other problems like lack of innovation & higher tax. big govt fails

  • When government exceeds its necessary and proper role of defending natural rights, (Life, Liberty, and Private Property) It must necessarily attack those very rights. This is because government has nothing of its own! Everything it has it must first take from the masses.

The size of government matters a great deal, but transparency is a key factor in utilizing the constitution for its purpose, which is to keep the government in check.

  • Big gov, small gov, I don't care. No matter what we do, our gov will still suck horribly until we can get those greedy corrupt politicians and their lobbyists out of Washington. I don't want big business in my government and that's the REAL problem.

  • i think government can work, but only if they are filled with staff that will be working on their own personal community people care when it affects them. The people that make laws live 10,000miles away and have never in their lives set foot in my neighborhood. Abolish 90% of the federal gov't. The states can govern themselves.

  • There are problems with that too.

  • what??

  • Hmm I use to have a video about it. I may reupload it or make another one. Basically state governments can be more easily lobbied by corporations to get corporate welfare and they have smaller ideologies on average than the whole US because they represent a smaller area so minority views are more likely to be suppressed.

  • Well, if you have 50 different states, all governing themselves, you have the choice of moving to a different state should the one you live in become too corrupt. That was one of the ideas behind the states retaining their sovereignty under the constitution.

  • Yes, however that is forcing people to give up their legitimately acquired property because a state is too corrupt. It is reversing the burden. Also, many people cannot just get up and move and keep their standard of living because their job may not be demanded somewhere else or their pay may be drastically decreased.. I forgot to add that states may hurt free trade between state borders with tariffs which they cannot do now.
