H! Is like Oporto Wine, getting older, getting Better! Just listen him singing this song in a recent version and you notice the greatness of his voice! Just Wonderfull...no words to describe! :)
A sublime swansong to a brilliant album. Mega-Songs like this are a Marillion signature and this stands out among their best. Perhaps one of their most sonic adventures at the time, this song caught many off guard...some grimaced...many smiled and many most likely did what I did.....got chills and shouted..."Hell Yeah!!!!!"
oh joy. another fish/hogarth debate. Both factions produced enjoyable music. neither would have been as enjoyable without the other. if Hogarth failed to move you with the music of Marillion.... you failed l to live.
I agree. No point in having that debate. Two totally different bands, although still the same. Just love them and get over it. It's how it is. Fish left, H moved in. Both are fracking amazing in their own way. Thank the gods for both of them!
This is Marillion and has been for 20 years. If you don't like it then you don't like Marillion so I suggest you move on and find other music and let the rest of Marillion's fans enjoy it and stop slagging it off on public forums.
Esatto! il grande Steve Hogarth ha ragione, quando ha scritto su Anoraknophobia: "Marillion is a better way of life!"
I believe that marillion wouldn't have evolved with Fish.I love both fish and h era.Listening to fish solo albums which are very good,is the closest thing you could get to ''how would marillion sound like if fish hadn't leave the band''!
i have to disagree. to compare fish to hogarth is like trying to compare cheese and onion crisps to a 4 rack toaster. its impossible and shouldn't be done. Fish had powerful lyrics and a fantastic voice but hogarth era marillion has a level of beauty and awe that fish could NEVER have acheived. the two versions of the band can't be compared and shouldn't be. you want fish? listen to his solo albums, 13th star is fantastic. but i will never trade away what marillion has become for what it was.
Good reply! Two things so remotely different should indeed not be compared and I can only agree with your description of the two versions of Marillion. With Fish it was more criticism, well aimed and exquistly executed but with Hogarth, the themes have become more abstract, more about life and living.. Sometimes I am tempted to think that Fish's songs speaks to the intellect, the brain, while Hogarth's speaks to the feelings and heart..
if you see the new marillion stuff as an souvenir of good ol' fish times, it is good music, but it you can't compare it with fish's brillance voice + lyrics
Awesome

never heard of to each his own? nobody forces you to listen to them. The world would be a boring place if everybody loved the same exact thing.
I respect your taste you should respect mine.
In all fairness, you announce your social skills with your handle. Peace to you.

You really don´t know what was Marillion.
If you´re glad with Hogart, it´s ok. But let me tell you this marillion does not have anything to do with orginial Marillion with the great FISH.
When FISH left the band, they had to change the name to the band.
Sorry, but to me, Marillion´s today is pathetic. Hogart always yell like a bad-mannered child.
