  • sony are such rip off artists, if you're a Brit, they charge you more than they charge elsewhere

  • i got the same camera but my shots are grainy as hell :S have you got any tips?

  • Use the Manual exposure option and play with it.

  • I have so much blach and blue points on my sony ( the same).what can I do to my video looks like yours ?

  • gahh. i have this camera. did u get any problems with videos lagging? it keeps happening to me:(

  • Turn off auto slow shutter :)

  • ok. i shall. it also interlaces soo badd. how do u turn of auto slow shutter?:S

  • Home button (top left) > Tool Box Icon > Movie Settings > Auto SLW Shutter > Off

As for the interlacing problem, what software are you using to view/edit your footage?

  • oh ok. i just tried that. oh. i used all the software that came with my handycam. and because it totally screwd up at first. i installeda many different players, such as Windows Media Player Classic Home Cinema, VLC, AVCHD oxy player. They still have that problem with all of them:( do you think i should send it back to Sony?

  • btw. thanks for the nice step-by-step instructions(Y)

  • Have you checked the option to maximize performance during video playback in the PMB? Also it may be down to the spec of your computer, the playback of AVCHD files is quite demanding, your PC may actually be struggling to play the footage back. Do you get the same effect when playing from the cam through your TV? If you don't then it could be down to your PC lacking in power.

  • yea. the problem is that it even does lag with the Standard Def. i dont think its a problem with my specs. but here they r

    Processor: AMD ATHLON 64 4200+

VGA: 7600gs (SLi) Running on SLi

    HDD: 850gb WD

RAM: 2gb OCZ GOLD *farstest DDR 400 RAM*

    MONITOR: Samsung p2350

    PSU: Corsair HX520

  • No looks like your spec is more than good enough. Have you tried playing the footage through your TV? If you get the same lagging through your TV then it looks like it may be the camera itself, if not then it could be something to do with your PC. Have you changed any other settings on the camera?

  • yea. the specs r fine i guess. it did it soon as i did my first recording. which im sure i didnt change the settings. we havent got a TV yet cos our old one broke so yea:S cant realli try it on a TV.does the camera work fine on computer for u?

  • It works fine for me but i edit my video on £6,000 worth of computer so i would expect it to. The other day there was an update for the PMB, i don't know if you have installed it already but if you haven't then i would try it and see if it addresses the issues your having. At the end of the day it could well be an issue with the camera. Did you buy it over the internet or from a store?

  • oh btw. if u wonna see how shit the qaulity can get look at 'Canon in D (My version)' in my channel. its on Standard Def and its on the highest qaulity of SD and it still sucks. lol.

  • So the camera works perfectly well in SD. That leads me to believe that it's something on your PC that's causing the problems. I imagine if something is wrong with the camera itself then you would also have problems shooting in SD.

  • good news. all the videos work fine on the playing in PMB. i guess i'll watch all the videos on that:S thanks for your help tho!

  • i also checked PMB

  • thanks for the sample vidz!

  • Heh. Nice try :D
