A white man's view of Zamboanga. A nice idyllic land and friendly people. Or better yet uneducated people "looks like a radio tower... but what would these simple folks know of radio...". Nostalgic yes, but the portrayal of Zamboangeños is a bit off.

when I was in Indonesia around late 40's or early 50's I recalled watched a movie by the name Zamboanga, is it the same movie ? Thank you for posting it, bring back to my memory the theater I was watching in.

i saw the film in ncaa. this was great, it starred fernado poe (sr) and rosa del rosario. yes this is the oldest film now. we also have tunay na ina 1939. ibong adrana 1941 and giliw ko 1939 and pakiusap 1940 c",)

Wow, this film is fantastic! We should be proud of this movie which is of world-class caliber, considering it was made in 1936. If there were award-giving bodies in 1936, this movie was a sure winner for Best Director and Best Picture! By the way, was the movie digitally remastered? Very good copy.
