excellent gonna get one of those. Is this the only instrument that you don't have to touch? i can't think of another one:-} keep these inspireing vids coming. kudos to you
Very nice box. I've got a jaycar kit on the way. Have u altered the circuit at all or just changed the antennae and switches to suit your own box? Very impressive. Nice one.
@gezshaper1 Thats all. The pitch antenna is the one out of the jaycar kit on a shielded wire the volume antenna is 1/4 steel rod bent to make the shape, again on a shielded wire. The rest is the same
But you must remember i watced them as they were first aired on my steam driven televisoria, it took three men to carry it in to the house, funny that it just took the same number for my new telly last week. Although this one i view from across the room not 15 inches.
I'm an idiot! I posted the same comment twice and then deleted both! Third time lucky. I said...
Great case. Reminds me of a cross between an ePro and a metronome. How about a Man Ray-esque metronome pendulum on the back with a picture of an eye at the top. Proper spooky!
That's a cracking enclosure you've built for your instrument - it looks like a cross between an etherwave pro and a giant metronome. (Haha - have you considered putting a metronome pendulum on the back - with a picture of an eye on it, like Man Ray's Dadaist sculpture "Object To Be Destroyed" - that would be proper spooky!
Its sort of a proximity detector linked to a sine wave generator. The proximity of the left hans as seen from the viewers angle sets the pitch of the note and the proximity of the right hand sets the volume of the same note. So you can set the not with the left side then bring it in with the right ot leave the volume on so that every movement of the left side (Straight antena) is translated into sound.
Oooh.. I thought I heard the soup dragon in there as well !! :)
Great job.. I could find some uses for that

Incredible craftsmanship there... your design has an interesting balance of retro, modern, and futuristic, and the sound's pretty wild as well.

Hmmm i like the idea, maybe and eye with a pulsing vari-colour light in the middle. Then a few lessons in hypnotism and Las Vegus here we come.

Would this connect to a mixer to connect to a computer??
SolidLovin 3 years ago
Yes it has a standard BNC 1volt output. The same as any other audio equipment. What your hearing is plugged into a mixer and effects unit.

are you using the speaker that came with the kit?
absrtact 3 years ago
I do use it but what you are hearing here is through a sound desk with effects unit.
