  • I just keep playing 4:11 - 4:22 over and over again. Those 11 seconds just blow my mind.

  • 4.50 lol

  • I was at this concert and I remember this version of Piano Man - actually based my own version of it on this performance, esp the solo which is still my favorite solo I've heard him do. Thanks for posting!

  • he played this song maybe 20 miles from where i was born 14 years later :)

  • Whenever he puts on his harmonica, the whole crowd goes crazy because they know Piano Man is next! My favorite of all his amazing songs.

  • nothing beats this

  • Thumbs up for the fancy jump at the beginning!

  • Probably the best version of piano man on YouTube...

  • If you go into a bar and play this song, you are an instant god. Thanks, Billy Joel.

  • A year ago it had 28.000 clicks , great not only clicks by me.

  • 好棒!

  • M2Mden -- another thank you from an old pfart who hopes Sr. Joel will keep doing what he does so well -- even if (perchance) he DOESN'T need the moolah. ;^/

And FWIW, I look forward to the firest "Live from the Mars Hotel" release"... whether it's Billy, the Dead, or Some * From Detroit.

  • Billy is all I have to remember living on Long Island. I was only 10 when I moved so I don't remember much.

So weird that I'm 15 and I love this stuff when 90% of my school hasn't heard of him.

  • I don't know why, but I like your name.... :)

  • They may not have heard of him but the songs are in the air and are pretty much unavoidable.

  • OMG im 16 and i love this stuff too :)

    who couldn't?...

billy joel is one of my heroes for his passion he put in his music :) my mommy and i have this vhs tape and at the end he goes "happy new year long island....AND DONT TAKE ANY SH** FROM ANYBODY!" hehe :D we relate him to being like....just a strong person and i just love it! wow im coming out sounding so dorky...sowry, im really out of it lately and haven't been doing well so thats why i looked up this video :) well, peace out, dude!~Kitty

  • @21rush12

    story of my life.

  • @21rush12 Which pre 1980 artists have they heard of/ listen to?

  • Fantastic thanks for uploading this :)

  • because of these uploads, mission2marsden is as much a blessing as Billy Joel is.

  • Oh, you're making me blush! ^_^ Really, it's nothing; it's just my job!

  • Do the Billy Joel people know about you? You should get publicist's fee! :-) Anyway great stuff. I have no idea why the Long Island Concert isn't on DVD yet.

  • @mission2marsden while i thank you for posting this, no one is quite the blessing billy joel is, especially for this song

  • Yep, this was his very first hit, although he wouldn't achieve true success until 1977 when he released "The Stranger", which is best known for containing the hit single "Only the Good Die Young".

  • Billy Joel sings this song? I remember this song, my dad would listen to music like this on the radio on road trips, and I remember I use to always fall asleep to it, it wasn't boring or anything it was just soothing and I guess thats why I would always fall asleep.
