  • I wish I was this good I make hats and stuff for dolls and this video has helped me for making mittens for them

  • If i use a bigger crochet needle would the size of the mitten be bigger ? and if so then i would just decrease the amount of chain i would use right ?

  • Thanks for posting.

  • yea i did it! thanks im prego so im makin all kinds of stuff haha

  • Hi teresa,

Please can you tell me is it possibel to make these in puff stich???

I just finished the puffstich hat and working on an puffstich scarf and i would love to maken these mittens in puff stich love your work whit love moslimforever

  • Any way you could upload a left handed version of this? I would greatly appreciate it. :D

  • This reminds me of something

  • i hate that magic circle. i just can't get it. :( when i'm done with my circle it's like a big blob, i can't tell where the stitches are so i'm just guessing and it comes out a big mess by the 2nd round. Is there another pattern without the magic cirlce? Like where you just chain in the beginning and do it the regular way?

  • My mitten turned out smaller than the one you made, I used the same crochet hook and yarn, I must have crocheted mine too tight.... I did add 2 more rows to the wrist band part, it is seriously cut!!! :)

Your tutorials are the only ones I watch, I love them. Thank you SOOOO much! :)

  • I'm curious to know what age infant would these kittens fit up too?

  • hi:) i was curious if you can make a video with a thumb like for toddlers, thanks:)

  • Hi Teresa, I have a question. sometimes I get so confused when watching various crocheter's. My question is when you start a chain, or finish a line and say "chain 4" for example. Do you count the loop you start with and just add 3 more? Or do you chain 4 and have a starting loop? Im confused 8(

  • @moneysaverlady When you finish a row and start a new row, you will not count the loop on your hook. That loop is part of the stitch or segment that you just completed. When you progress to a new row or round, you will start with a new count. If you instructions tell you to chain three, you will work three new chains. I hope that makes sense.

  • @tjw1963 It does thanks. sometimes when I watch others or what not it just goes by so fast..thanks for clearing that up for me!

  • @tjw1963 it does, thanks for answering so quick your so sweet.

  • Yay! I made my first mitten!! Thanks for the video!!!

  • @Riiyona You are welcome!!

  • hi teresa, im doing exactly as you say but the only problem i have. for some reason i cant pull the the ring together in round one. when ur doing the magic circle then chain and then the 10 single crochet then i get stuck with a big ring. help?

  • These are adorable! I am going to make these to match the crochet booties and headband for my new baby cousin coming at the end of April. I have a question though. I plan on using 4 ply worsted weight yarn. What size hook would you recommend to make them the right size for a newborn?

  • these are sooooooo adorable and so easy to make!!! thanks for sharing so much of your creations with us. ^_^

  • Hello Teresa, first off I want to say thank you so much for these tutorials; they've helped me create so many new things that I never knew I could do. I do have a question for this one though; at the end, is it important to do the front post single crochet or can I add something different? I am not sure exactly what I am doing but mines does not seem to be coming out right. Thank you so much for you're help!

  • @tianabayron You can work different stitches and change the pattern. By experimenting with different stitches and techniques on an existing pattern, will help you learn about modification. Please share a picture or video response when you are finished.

  • Wow I've done several projects from your videos very helpful you have a good heart for teaching all of us. This mittens are wonderful for this time of the year.

  • @1marlenesc You are so kind, thank you!

  • Hi, do front posts go on front posts when going on to another row or is it fp on bp when building rows

  • @YaoiAndPockyLover What you are doing is wrapping the hook around the post of the crochet stitch. If you are right handed, you insert the hook to the right of the stitch, around the back, and to the front on the left side. Wrap the yarn over, pull it back around and complete the double crochet.

  • Hi Teresa,

I like many, have learned so much from your tutorials. I would love to make these mittens but for a toddler. My friend's little 18 month old son gets so cold when out in the pram... Would you be so kind as to maybe adapt this pattern to fit. I would be so grateful.

    Many thanks from the UK,

    Lisa

  • @LiisaJF The easiest way to increase the size, is to use a larger crochet hook.

  • @tjw1963 Thanks so much. We have lots of snow today, so I am going to give these a go. I have a 2yr old son and a 16month old daughter who need mittens desperately. Thanks again x

  • @LiisaJF You are welcome! :)

  • I like this simple pattern a lot. I haven't seen your other mitten pattern Teresa, but I shall have a look at it. You truly are an amazing woman. Thanks for all the video's. I'm gonna make these mittens today. I've made several pairs of your baby mary jane's, and they are so easy to do from your video, and everyone loves them, just wondering though, do you have any more? :)

  • @divinizza Thank you. I do have thee other pair of baby booties. I will send you the playlist with all the projects.

  • Hi Teresa,

I'm looking for your second pattern, using 4 ply yarn but haven't been able to find it on your blog site. Can you post a link? Thanks, and thanks for your videos. You're a wonderful teacher.

    Jeanne

  • Jeanne, I have posted the link in the video description now.

  • Thanks Teresa and have a very Merry Christmas!

  • thank you for the mittins ive made them n their so cute. i was woundering if u have another pattern for mittens cuase im making some for my 3 week old niece. if u could show us another pattern please i would appriciate it.

  • Your make it very easy

  • Thank you.

  • you use a G or H hook

  • G hook. There are two different patterns.

  • These are great mittens!

Any suggestion on what hook to use when using 4ply? any alterations to the pattern? Thanks so much!!!!

  • I have a different pattern made with 4-ply yarn written out on my crochet blog.

  • I love your tutorials!! THey are so helpful!

  • Thank you very much. :)

  • I have a question. Do I need different hooks [I'm sorry if that's not the real name, I don't know, I'm a beginner] for different projects? I was watching the 'How to Crochet Hats' and I noticed that the hooks are different. I am currently making a hat, and this will be my next project.

  • You have it correct, they are called crochet hooks. If you have a good understanding of gauge, you can use smaller or larger hooks that are different from what the pattern recommends. Using a smaller hook will make the project smaller. Using a larger hook will make the project larger. There is an amount of modifying the pattern that will be necessary to do if you use a different size hook.

  • Hi, I am a beginner at crochet. I have learned so much from your videos. I used your basic pattern to do the mitten, then I added more rows at the bottom, a ribbon loop,a lace loop and used a pink and a white yarn to alternate the colors. My friends say they are beautiful. I will try to send a picture. Thank you again for the video.

  • You are welcome. They sound very pretty. My e-mail is posted on my main channel page. I would love to see a picture.

  • I was wondering if you could do regular gloves/mittens for adults i would love to make a pair to match my scarf and hat that i learned from you. (star stitch).

Thank-you for all the nice stitches you put up here the time you take to show us how to do them you are the best.

  • I am in the process of finalizing some adult size mittens with single crochet. Star stitch would be pretty and is a pattern I will work on and see what I can come up with.

  • This is a wonderful tutorial.

Where can I purchase a sewing needle for yarn and what are they called, so I know what to look for?

  • The big needles are called tapestry needles. You can find them at Wal-mart and craft stores like Michaels and Hobby Lobby. I use the ones about 2" long.

  • My question was do you also do knitting or only crochet..?

  • I'm sorry I must have missed the question. I just do crochet.

  • hi teresa thats so cute,i learned so much with you.All your videos are great very much details..keep them coming.Always the first things i do when am on internet is checking if you add a new video...do you also knit.?have a wonderful holidays.

    Nisha
