  • wow...iconic.

  • I'm horny.

    P.s. I'm man LOL.

  • It's hard to imagine Diana Ross doing this song, and impossible to imagine her doing it ANY BETTER. Such a classic. I love the intro riff, and the guitar work throughout, really.

  • @JoeDeceiver Donna Summer, rather. Close enough, hahahahaha.

  • Bruce and the E Street Band kick ass!!!!!!

  • OMG...he's amazing and kick ass in this performance...damn son

  • in my book, his best song

  • I don't hear the 'dance tune hit' I hear anguish. Fantastic thank you for uploading this.

  • Back to the good old days.

  • the guitar solo and his scrims are fantastic!

  • Love this song!

  • Who is a girl that sings with Bruce? I don't know why someone cut intro when she sings. It's a masterpiece! Is there version from Paris '85. WITH the complete song, with intro? Thnx!

  • @jutjubz That's Patti Scialfa, now the wife of Bruce Springsteen :-)

  • nice editing job.

  • Underrated for sure!!!!

  • excellent version of this song!!!!!!

  • love that rear view at 5.10 !! no wonder levis sales went thru thru roof in 84/85!!

  • i had no idea that Bruce did his own solos.....WOW

  • @Renzonator check out prove it all night from 1978, or indeed anything from 1978s darkness tour to see him at his best .

  • LO MJOR SIN DUDA!

  • I wish Bruce would give Nils more electric guitar parts in the songs as he first did when NIls joined like on these videos from Paris. Maybe Nils was a more accomplished guitarist then, and Bruce caught up? I can't figure it out;

  • I didnt even know Bruce could grunt that much...suits him

  • @TumblingDice1972 that is such a lie r u deaf?!

  • Wish he still sounded like this.

  • @76ComicFan He does

  • @Springsteenfan10 He does to a point, he's got that weird lasso sound at the end of his voice.

  • EXCELLENT BRUCE!!!!!!!!!!

  • This guy is God-

  • My favourite old Bruce song is deffenitly Spirits in the Night

  • one of the best songs on usa!!!!!!

  • @moorso72 ooohhh yeeeaaah !!!

  • @sonicbreaker00 Hey????What is your favourite old bruce song????

  • @moorso72 if you ask about one song - it would be Born in the USA (and i am not saying this because i am an American - i am saying this because Born in the USA talks about the horrors of war, something most of my fellow citizens fail to understand.) As for Cover Me, its special its romantic, and therefore, definitely one of my top 5 hits ever !

  • Generation X the 80s =)

  • Gracias por existir Bruce !!

  • class

  • yes, plofus;)..i think so

  • I love how tight the band is on the studio version of this song, but despite the energy in this live performance, it still kinda sounds like a Prince song circa "Purple Rain". Meh.

  • And that's a bad thing how?

  • Because it sucks?

  • I'm not a fan of dancing or even the studio of this, but live this one goes to another level,in my opinion.

  • what ?? this is one of his best songs !!

  • Bruce wrote this song for Donna Summer & Jon Landau heard it & said no way were keeping it,thats why Jon landau gets the big bucks & bruce's er.

  • why would i get a minus 1 for that info.

  • i had heard this song only once and never knew who the artist was until now. this is my fav song by Bruce!! amazing performance and thank you for posting the video!!!

  • short..

    best of the best !!!!!

    ♥ bruce ♥

  • I didnt know Bruce could throw down those tasty licks.

  • Bruce in concert is a different animal, lotsa kick ass licks & solos,Nils too.

  • great solo

  • So THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! take THAT!

  • Outstanding intro and ending. The whole song is just GREAT.

    Bruce is incomparable.

  • it's the who effect. I sware the director was watching the who at woodstock

  • I love these videos that feature Nils Lofgrens's incredible talent on the guitar. He's also an amazing pianist, amongst other things! I suspect his being a competitive gymnast helped b/c Bruce's concerts are long and exhausting for them all!

  • You just can't write anything that hasn't been written. He's just The Boss. And this song is so good!

  • You know, Bruce never liked the name the Boss. It came from his managment of a rocking bar on the New Jersey shoreline in his earliest days when he was getting just a local following. Funny, you know?

  • @4rainbowed Thanks for sharing this info, but the Boss name symbolizes me that no doubt he is the best...

  • True that. But,--HE-- doesn't care for it. Did you know this year, he will be one of the 6 traditional recipients from the President of the USA for his contributions to the country? Kind of cool, huh?

The only other time a rock band got this recognition was about two years ago; The Who received it (actually Pete Townshend & Roger Daltrey) for their concert for NYC after 9/11. The speech to them from Bush is so funny- it's obvious he had no idea what they were about! But a good choice!

  • Is there anything more powerful than this...!

  • Yes, try Hey You by Floyd

  • He is the one and only...

  • I love this song, your the Boss Bruce

  • he looks sooooooo sweeet!!

And it's one of his best songs!!

  • great fuckin song..!

  • the boss!

  • So so good. Sorry i'm a busy busy man but I don't think this is all from the same user? is there any chance of gettin this gig all together? It is one of my favourites to watch, absolutely amazin!

  • i downloaded the whole show and burnt it on dvd,its got menus an everything, get it of pirate bay

  • I'll cover you baby!! Does everyone from NJ have such a hot ass?! lol

I think this song is one of my faves!

  • All my friends from NJ are fat.

  • this song is perfect for gay people like me....don't tell anyone i am....cover us!

  • i dont think he wrote the song to symbolise being gay you idiot

  • Damn I love those screams around 4:15.

  • well well done!!!

  • "The whole world is out there just trying to score! I've seen enough. I don't want to see no more!" We can change. Yes we can. VOTE OBAMA/BIDEN

  • A young Max Weinberg on the drum kit!

  • by far one of his most underrated songs

  • I agree, you never hear this song being referred to as one of his best. For me this is one of my 5 favorites from him. It's all about preference I guess, but most everything he does is great.

  • there are a ton of songs that are underrated by bruce and should have made it on the radio or been a hit. But yeah this one would almost to to the top of underrated songs by him.

  • Wow, never seen Sir Bruce shredding like that, some good tones he squealed oout of that guitar, and from his throat aswell ;)

Always a prime show from the boss!

  • Bruce Springsteen is the great artist who always challenges us to think. Love this song as well as Born in the USA. His music reverberates with the pain of our nation, the USA.

  • marielita.... cover me! cover face cause i'm dying!

  • Great teenage memories!!! I just love this song.. I agree with marierehema, I´ll cover him any time too!!!!

  • It's been forever since I last heard this song. Hearing it brings back good teenage memories. This was one of my favorite Springsteen songs back then. And it still is...

  • WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!

    It rocks :)

  • rock & roll bruce!

  • One of his most underrated songs. There are few songs that rock an arena like this one does

  • Man, this song rocks the arena! I like the nice, moody bookends to the song. When he's onstage, it seems he pours everything into EVERY song. I agree that this song should be put on a live DVD. My favorite Bruce song next to Tunnel of Love. Rock on, Bruce!

  • I was just born 8 days before this was performed, but Bruce must have been a hugely refreshing change from the Europop and synthesizers that dominated music at the time...

  • well, there were a lot of rock that wasn't synthesized or europop..like zz-top for example or any soft rock group or artist..there are plenty..but on the other hand there's noone like the Boss, I think..

  • underrated guitar the boss is!

  • i ll cover him any time !!!!

  • This concert would be great remastered and released on DVD. Maybe for the 30th Anniversary of Born in the USA, but hopefully sooner.

  • yes it's quite a while until then..six years to go, hopefully next year :D

  • next year never comes

  • that song gives me the chill.. i adore it

  • one of the most bad ass boss songs.

  • see you in gothenburg

  • Hell yeah!

  • This would make a great opening number for the cardiff gig. It really kicks ass like 'Adam Raised a Cain'. I think it's about time it was reintroduced to setlists. Roll on the 14th.

  • The Boss really needs to put out more live albums. This is just awesome!

  • superman the 2 new jersey guys first the boss and then mr jovi

  • To bad we ain`t got a pres cindate this honest

    !!!!!!!

     dj

  • Immense

  • This song sounds even better live!

  • WONDERFUL SONG!!!!

  • io c'ero!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Sexy. Yes, yes, yes. (Both the music and Brucie boy)

  • Just brilliant =)

  • Love it!

  • Fucking sick!!!!

    The Hound Guy

  • agreed

  • He wrote this song for Donna Summer because he was an admirer and thought the anti-disco sentiment was racist and harming her career (she did win best female ROCK perfomance for HOT STUFF); but he recorded it himself and wrote PROTECTION for Donna Summer instead, and Bruce sings/plays guitar on that song.

  • that's not a bad idea

  • visuale sucks

    but good song

  • i been singing this song since the day i burst forth from my mama and got a load of the world.

  • Nobody dose it better then the boss.

  • What happened to "Nowhere To Run" performed by Patti at the beginning?

  • BRUUUUUUUUCE!!!!!!

  • love it

  • credo che questa canzone da piccola mi abbia fatto innamorare del Boss!

  • One of my favorite Boss songs from the 1980s. Love the intro to the live version, too.

  • One of my favorite Bruce songs -- it had to do with the times and the timing. But still, a great song. Thanks, Bruce!

  • Bruce in his PRIME with a darn near all star band of talent behind him. WOW, and thanks for posting these!

  • I Got the DVD of this concert, It's so great what he performs. From the beginning till the end, he gifs everything he got!!! And that's why everyone is a big fan of him!! Great Bruce!!!

  • very good bruce here could be and have heard much better they say they are releaing this on dvd i just wanna no why this show there is such better bossman shows out there just why this one i really do not think that this show is really even that good well its not it really isnt just why .lol we need some other bruce but this will do later on my fellow bossheads

  • This is the best Bruce show ever, just because it was my first Bruce show...I was 20 years old and I'll never forget..
