  • Great great great techniques!!!!!Very much thanks to Submissions 101!!!!!Keep showing this kinda techniques man!!!!Gr, I learn much of it.

  • you can block this easily by switch your hand. block their knee with your hand and move to north south or something.

  • Yep, you are right. This works well if they don't pass the hand over to block the hip. As you know, jj is a chess match and if one move doesn't work, there is always another.

  • who is that in the red gi?? cos im a fan! luv the way he mixes traditional jujisu self defence with BJJ & MMA. dose he compete in mma??

  • that is the legendary Ari! :P.

Seriously though, that's Ari - the main guy in these instructional vids... & usually the person who responds to comments!

Ari doesn't compete in MMA as far as I'm aware -- correct me if I'm wrong, Ari -- but a few of his students do MMA (Aaron Ram being one of them I think?).

    peace.

  • Legendary no. I am just a guy who loves jiu jitsu. I do not compete in MMA and homegrown is right, I have a couple of students that do compete in MMA (Aaron, Tom and soon to be Jason). We're just starting out and I don't push my guys to compete if they don't want to but will support them anyway I can if they do.

  • *you're just a guy who loves jiu jitsu and teaches it extremely well!

  • Thank yo for the kind compliment.;-)

  • I'm curious about this sweep. When you tuck your right leg in - horizontally across like a scissor sweep - are you doing anything else with your right leg (that the camera may not pick up on) aside from just putting it across his midsection?

  • Yes..you are pushing against the hipand then shooting it out as the left cuts over the back. This video doesn't pick up all teh details because it was at a seminar and not done in our normal format. I also tend to use my right hand to block his left leg from coming up (I try and keep his leg out stretched)

  • Very good! I always struggle in side mount lol.

  • XD

    This is very useful!

Im trying on my brother soon :3

  • That's kind of like bumping and shrimping to go from sidemount to guard, but better. Good info.

  • Sweet! I'm trying this Tuesday.

  • Awesome

  • thanks guys for those suggestions that you did, im sorry i didn't check your guys' webesite so i didn't see those.
