  • This guy really used to kick ass. May his soul be playing in a better place. RIP

  • fun gd dm fun thats all fufnfufnfufnfufngfufnfufnfufnfufnjfufjfufnjfrufnfufrn

  • do mind telling me what bass that is, i would love to know

  • @icanhazursoul89 It's a Rickenbacker. But I can't tell if it's a 4001 or 4003. Looks like a 4001, but I could be mistaken. All I know is it's in the Fireglow finish.

  • @Legionbass19 its an older model of the 4001. and its red, not fireglo

  • @1320Endgame Ah, see all I know is the 4003's have names like Fireglo for their finishes. I need to get myself a Rickenbacker soon.

  • @Legionbass19 get a 1970-1980 Rickenbacker 4001!!!

  • @1320Endgame Are you kidding me, man!? I'm poor as fuck! I'm a teenager with 20 dollars to his name! What I meant was "I need to get myself a Rickenbacker SOMEDAY". But I wish.

  • @Legionbass19 lol i recently sold a 1970's rickenbacker. i regret it. someone shoudl fucking kill me o:<

  • @1320Endgame I Want It... End Of Question

  • Nice Rickenbacker Bass! FUCKING METAL!

  • PICK!!! WTF?

  • @juampialarcon - ..the song was originally played with a pick, its not like he's going to reply or give a shit anyway, he (guy in the clip) died.

  • @SickPuppyBeatz oh shit i didnt know dat!!

  • @juampialarcon A needed tool for playing Priest, probably.

  • @Legionbass19 not even, ucan playi t wit fuckin fingerz

  • @juampialarcon You probably can, I never tried to play this song, although I should. By the way, I never use a pick.

  • @Legionbass19 then, ur cool :P

  • @juampialarcon

Whats up with the pick hating?

  • @ildur its called being a real bassist..

  • @juampialarcon

So what do you say about guitarists who plays with fingers then?

  • @ildur They're cool..

  • @juampialarcon

Why are finger guitarists cool while pick bass player is not? That doesn't follow any logic at all.

  • @ildur cuz if u play guitar with finger means u hav skill, but if u play bass with pick means u suck with ur fingers

  • @juampialarcon

Are you just trying to look stupid?

If you know Gamma Ray, you should know that Dirk Schläkter is a great bass player... With both pick and fingers. He usually plays the slow songs with fingers and the fast with pick, but I he can do the other way around if he just wants to.

  • @ildur answering ur question: yup kinda lol

  • @juampialarcon either that or youre just trying to play fast, people who play heavy metal usually play only a few notes over and over but really fast so you have to use a pick, and on songs with more melodies (iron maiden perhaps) its easier to use fingers to switch through the strings faster

  • So this guy died???

  • @TheSpazzarro yep, check out his channel. i found his page like 2 or 3 weeks afterwards, it really sucked i wish i could've met him, one of those "this guy will influence my playing tremendously" type people. i place him with all the greats as a musician

  • ummm did u sing that song back there? :D

  • @Grenderstar At the start of the video and in the description it says who did the vocals....... nice reading

  • OUTSTANDING....i love this cover, its extra aggressive n dude is pretty pick handy.sad hes dead though,i guess the good die young.

  • R.I.P. fai sentire a dio un pò di Brutal death per noi!!! \m/

  • I'm watching the movie Cujo on my TV while this is playing.

  • This song doesn't look as hard as I thought it be O-o

  • of all people that need to be reserrected. rob with out a doubt needs to be #1 on the list.

  • eres un chingon carnal, buen bajeo arriba painkiiler ,saludos

  • Rest In Peace Dude!!!

  • rock gods really needed his bass playing! R.I.P.

  • whos version of painkiller is this?

  • Rob's

  • thats badass

  • Wait a minute. He's dead?

  • it's true that you're dead? :(

  • Sadly it is true that he is...

  • its sound better with fingers :D i like the pick ,its ur choice, just saying :D

  • @DonAleroni fingers? this song's bass was played by pick in the first place, everyone knows ian hill plays plectrum...

  • @MrSFblack i said it sounds better with fingers it my opinion and i dont give a shit about your opinion

  • @DonAleroni opinions are like assholes, everyones got one.ur opinion just happened to make u sound like a douche.

  • how long do you play bass?

  • i want you for my band.

  • nice cover. have you heard death's version of this song?

  • Absolutely.....great version, too.

  • @zodiakironfist your over playing it a little. i have the bass track first vid on my channel

  • One of the most intense drum intros... and one of the most under rated bass players. Is Ian Hill great by any means, no. But he brings it every time. Solid pocket player that doesn't stand out much over the shredding of KK and Glenn.

  • wow awsome!

didnt know judas priest was that heavy :p

  • dude that was legend... wait for it... and I hope you're not lactose intolerant because the second half of that word is DAIRY!

  • this is so sick!!!!! reminds me of the Death cover more than the orignal

may i recomend u guys doin some testament?? just thrown it out there i love them

  • Those six seconds went by like nothing. I think some death metal bands are just emo music compared to Judas Priest.

  • Holy crap that was insane! Love the bassline you put to it.

  • Your a beast on that bass! 5*s /,,//,,/

  • So here comes the bass heavy version =). Awsome.

Thanks again for participating on this kick-ass cover, Rob.

  • Yeah, I typically put out a bass intensive version of every collaboration I make because there are a cadre of my viewers that find it easier to learn a tune with the bass turned up.

It's also the perfect excuse to plug the collab video. This whole project was so awesome, to bad we never had a drummer to share it with.

  • Sweet

  • Fuckin' kick arse little solo at the end dude. :P

  • haha yes! i wanted to hear this for myself! I love watching these covers, keep the metal coming \m/

  • Most badass song ever.

The lyrics actually sound more kickass than halfords.

How long have you had prescilla btw?

  • I bought her used in 1987 at a local guitar shop for $450.

  • Look after her - looks and sounds like the steal of the century!

  • I love Priest! the older stuff is better IMO, next try "Saints in Hell"!

  • I have a question regarding the chords. Are you playing a normal 5th chords and using the other fingers to mute other string or are you paly _(no5) or _/5+(no3)?

  • I have no idea what that notation you are using means, but it doesn't matter because they are normal fifth chords with the extra fingers muting the other strings. I do this so I can get a good attack without extra noise. I also use inverted fifth chords here and there.

  • I do the same thing with my thumb on the E string if you watch carefully. I don't really think about doing it....it just happens.

  • OK those are just some really fancy chords :p

  • baffoonery at its finest! haha love the tone on this one. this is my fave cover youve done. sonic madness!

  • Thanks, satch. Painkiller is a killer tune, and I am deeply honored that anyone would include me in a project to do it. This song is a monument to metal.

  • yes yes yes yes! I LOVE THIS SONG!

  • How can anyone NOT love this song?

  • Awesome job dude! Rocked it.

  • great cover..jesus christ

  • Sounds like the Death cover.

  • There are no better compliments.

  • Haha so fucking awesome man!

  • :ooooo tes serieu tes le meilleur man !!!! you are the best man !!!

  • One of my fav songs ever and now this is my fav cover on bass that I've seen... and I've seen quite a few.

  • Wow...what a nice thing to say!

  • OMFG......that was amazing

  • A masterpiece played by the master! woo!

  • AMAZING!

  • The great visuals nearly overshadow the fantastic bass playing - loved it!

  • Awesome, good job!

  • Dude, you seriously have to do some more thrash covers.

  • They're coming. Well...more like death metal covers, but essentially the music is the same thing.

  • I hope you mean Death Metal covers of bands like Death, Obituary, Autopsy, and the early death metal era. I still want to see you play some Sadus (especially since DiGiorgio was in Sadus), and some of the more udnerrated thrash stuff, maybe some Dark Angel (preferrably The Burning of Sodom or Darkness Descends).

  • Death is the band I am referring to in this case. Trying to decide whether to make it a Death single tune or a double-header.

I have picked up some Sadus to listen to lately, and there are a couple of tunes I really dig that I might give a shot to one day, but it will be quite some time because I like to really feel a tune before I even try to play it.

  • I must suggest you play Scream Bloody Gore, for the Halloween value, and if it's a double header, add Lack of Comprehension. I'm just saying though for Sadus, Certain Death from their Chemical Exposure album is such an energy inducing experience.

  • Great!

  • this is epic.

  • Yeah! The finale was just awesome.

  • It's the bassline I always hear when I hear that ending. I'm glad that somewhere in the universe this song exists with that bass on the finale, even if I was the guy to have to put it there.
