  • hi, i'm an engineering student and i've been working on the superhydrophobic surface for past 6 months. I would like to ask is the superhydrophobic coating created by sir strong enough? I mean if the surface is being rubbed or experience a frictional force, will the superhydrophobicity still existing?

  • @weikeatng yes, this is the work of Sir Strong Enough

  • @weikeatng

I think the action of the wipers would destroy the coating on the windshield, though some coatings may be stronger. I remember reading that if you get up to speed, say 40 mph, you wouldn't need wipers.

  • Wonder if you could coat an entire vehicle with this???Imagine what that would look like...a car coated with this driving through the rain.

  • like jesus was in the car.

  • its been done

  • I wonder if this could be applied to textiles. Superhydrophobic rain gear :P

  • that honestly looks fun to play with, I wanna try!

  • Windshield coating this looks like it could replace windshield wipers....
