If you go visit Jiuzhaigou National Park in Sichuan province in China, you'll see Tibetans still dwelling on their ancestral lands inside the park. If you go to Banff National Park in Canada, where are the First Nations people who lived there? Gone, Ethnic Cleansing.

If you go visit Jiuzhaigou National Park in Sichuan province in China, you'll see Tibetans still dwelling on their ancestral lands inside the park. If you go to Banff National Park in Canada, where are the First Nations people who lived there? Gone, Ethnic Cleansing.

Tibet was an autonomous country up until 1959, when the Chinese military invaded (I can't help but wonder why/how people think China invaded their own country). Also, thanks to the ethnic cleansing and mass colonization (in direct violation of the Geneva Convention), most of the people in Tibet now are Chinese immigrants, sent in as part of a program to eliminate the "Tibet problem".

That is extreme arrogance, to presume anyone knows what the natives want. The native Americans and Aborigines in Aus lived for tens of thousands of years as nomads. If there way of living is unsustainable, wouldn't you think they will be extinct already?

I am not against the idea, but I am against the presumption some of the supporters (and ultra biased media) think they know best for EVERYTHING. From human rights, animal rights, "free" market... Nothing wrong with any of these, but let the actual affected people choose, rather than shove it down their throats, no matter what.

what culture have they left to preserve, they went onto their reservations, spent all their money on booze and guns and forgot all about the people they used to be. They went from nomadic hunters to drunkards all because we tried to allow them to coexist, we wouldn't have all of these problems if they had just joined society as equal members instead of this "save our culture!!" bullshit. I highly recommend a book called : Ishmael by daniel quinn. in his words tibet and china's lifestyle is the same,totaltarian agroculture (TA), which is y the two cultures can co-exist. but in the north amercian case, the native have the forgers life style, a suspustiable lifestyle, while the white ppl have TA which is a doomed lifestyle. i sugguest we first preseve the substainable lifestyle then go worry about some political issue.

Peurto Rico could vote for independence and under the U.S. Constitution she would get it. The native tribes propbably would not. Though the natives have more freedom & independence in the U.S. than do Tibetans in China or Tibet.
There have been protest by American natives. Currently, some of the Lakota have declared treaties void and called for secession. They will not be prosecuted for it like Tibetans in Tibet.
Fact is, communism is oppressive. That's why people want to be free of it.

Their languages survive, and they have a great degree of independence. Fact is, most would rather be part of the U.S. rather than separate. The U.S. is a rich & free nation. That is why.
But if they want independence, they can call for it and not be prosecuted, as Tibetans would.
I personally think the U.S. natives should have independence if they want it.

That's true, but beside the point. I agree that the Koumintang & Chang Kai Shek really fucked China, but not quite so bad as Mao & the Communists. In 20/20 hindsight, we should have stayed out of that.
But it was still the U.S. that liberated China in WW2 from the Japanese fascists, a far more deadly foe than the Koumintang. China has never been grateful.
