  • very interesting video thanks

  • this sucked so bad

  • I like being in this powerful blizzard. I live in Chicago

  • Okay I waz born and raised in Chicago, but I live in Atlanta now,why is it that when we get snow everthings Chaso, ppl aree running annd hiding in the house, but in Chicago life is still moving on??

  • @crumadonis I looked it up on wikipedia and Atlanta rarely see any snow,so the ppl there arent use to seeing it every year. When they do have snow or godforbid blizzards thats why the city shuts down and ppl freak out. Here in Chicago we get snow year winter and the city is prepared

I was born and raised in Chicago....and still live here :)

    THE WINDY CITY :))

  • And btw, great video...

  • You are an idiot to try to drive home on LSD during a blizzard warning. No sympathy here either. Where were the police? Helping other fools like you who didn't heed the warnings.

  • @bfuhr123 I walked out there from my house to check out the storm. There was no way in HELL I was driving after 2pm. But thanks for assuming I'm a fuckhead haha.

  • I love windy snowstorms. This looks like a great one.

  • So what happened to everyone in these vehicles? I assume most of them somehow got out of their cars into shelters, because the later videos show the vehicles apparently empty. Where did they go? How did they get there?

And just as an aside - how the hell is this somehow the fault of "liberals"??

  • @hebneh You know.. I'm not entirely sure man. Although I am an insomniac I eventually had to go to bed. Some were sill in their vehicles the next day (according to the news report I saw) but I'm sure a lot of people said fuck it and just took CTA on the actual operable streets back home.... figured they'd pay the towing costs later. Many ran out of gas with which to continue to charge their batteries for heat and such... so they were forced to abandon ship.

  • Just have to say all those that were stuck on Lake Shore Drive I have NO SYMPATHY for any of you! For 3 days BEFORE the storm ALL media was warning to STAY OFF THE DRIVE cuz it was going to get the worst of it, so don' t blame the city cuz you all were a bunch of BOOBS!

  • Thank God, I don't live in a city like Chicago run by Liberal MORONS!!! The fact that this happened in Obama's home city, makes perfect sense, in the scheme of things.

  • @LesPaulCustom79

Nobody cares about your stupid opinions. Seriously everyone who reads your comments thinks you're an idiot. This has nothing to do with peoples' political views.Use your head, could you imagine if all of Lake Shore traffic was directed through downtown Chicago side streets- it would be a fucking nightmare! We'd have cars stuck all through out downtown- a problem that would cause havoc for days after.

  • LIBERALISM at its' finest. The Chicago city officials didn't close down the main raod when they should have. A bus spun out, caused an accident, bottled the road up like a cork in a wine bottle. 1,500 cars were stranded, people almost froze to death in their cars.

  • Thanks for the post! Great job on hanging in there in that storm. Featured it on my blog, brittaj17wordpresscom, hopefully you will reach many other viewers. It will then pay off for all your hard work:).

  • @MsBrittaj appreciate that!

  • Lake Shore Drive during a blizzard? Nice going people.

  • This is absolutely ridiculous. They KNEW this storm was coming for days. There was no reason so many cars should have been out on the road. The workplaces should have been let home early BEFORE the storm. This happened in Boston about 2 years ago in December 2008 with a similar situation. However, they didn't have the blowing snow it was just a steady 2in per hour snow for several hours.

  • This explains why there were no cars going up Lake Shore Drive in my video!

I guess there was an accident that precipitated this. Glad I went home from work before the storm hit.

  • This would suck, but why the heck did people drive when there were so many warnings?

  • @hawkeyecub Some people have careers that they really dont want to miss. And there is a common assumption that the roads on a major city artery like Lake Shore Drive will never get too bad. (Because people are always moving the snow won't settle)

But I guess for then... oops? haha

  • @hawkeyecub because they still had to work ...and got sent home ...finally during the worst part of the storm ? which kinda sucks
