Like blindness could be fixed by mind control, deafness, any mental dysfunction can be cured with no side effects, depression = GONE with mind control used ethically, ADD? GONE. Psychopathy? Gone. Mind control can and WILL be used for ethical purposes eventually. It's just a matter of time. It's just in the wrong hands now...

@pistraurder Consent is a very important feature in ethical use of mind control, I agree. Mind control is so potent and capable of so much, especially coupled with telepathy, it's something I'm betting they will try to keep from humanity for as long as they can. Mind control, like just about anything, there is balance involved in it, and it's only as good or bad as the people using it. It's capable of more good than any one discovery in human history possibly... If used by ethical means.....

@omnisenseDOTorg I would agree. before there's any substantial regulations, laws of consent, standard practices, it will be abused and/or not used properly. pretty sure this has happened with every world changing technology when it was first discovered. humans tend not to realize the full ramifications of things they do, don't tend to err on the side of precaution, just jump forward full throttle without really thinking. I guess we are in this phase currently.
