  • Oh, yes, you have shown that a cage is just like a jungle, yeah, right.

  • Capuchins are soo cool, they have such a funny sense of humor too! guess thats why they are in soo many movies

  • @junkintrunk55 your sick and dont deserve to live in America

    hope you get deported

  • GOD I WOULD LOVE TO SHOW UP IN A BIG GORILLA COSTUME AND WALK IN THERE!!!!

  • What do you do when the hurricanes and hard rain showers sweep in. Do you keep them inside?

  • @TheAnimalCrackerZoo When hurricanes come we put them in smaller cages and bring them inside. If its just raining they stay outside. They have nest boxes and part of their cage has a covered roof so they can stay dry. Although a little water on them is good because it cleans them.

  • @TheAnimalCrackerZoo Yes, they come inside. I have lockdown cages to put them in. I wouldn't leave them outside.

  • Beautiful, I would like to own a capuchin when I'm able to afford it and have the time to, but Washington state bans exotic pets. People who bitch about pet primates being taken away from their mothers obviously don't take that reasoning to logical conclusion. All domestic pet are taken from mothers, whether it be a kitten, a puppy, or a monkey.

  • If it's legal to buy capuchins, where (in the US) can I buy one? Who's better the brown capuchin or the white face capuchin?

  • their are breeeders in most states if it is legal in that state

  • How much does it cost to create an enclosure like that? And do you have to take them inside when it gets cold?

  • Not sure. It's my mother-in-law's cage. I think about $3,000 considering the large waterfall & caging material. My father-in-law is a contractor so he used 2x4s left over from jobs & he built the cage himself with help from his sons. It has an old tire & firehose, & he built the nest boxes too. The stumps are from a tree that was cut down and the used them for that. They saved where they could.

FL doesn't get too cold. Caps can take about 50 deg F. She has an outdoor heater on the nest box too.

  • Can the brown/tufted capuchins live with the white faced capuchins?

  • If properly introduced, yes they can live together. The white faced and tufted have different vocalizations though, even though both are capuchins.

  • You may be the best pet-primate owner in the world, but by purchasing an infant primate, you are perpetuating a business that leads to miserable lives for many of the very animals you profess to adore.

  • Well saod.

  • sorry, i meant well said.

  • Where do they say they bought an infant from the wild? Primates can be captive bred like dogs and cats.

  • That is amazing!! I've always wanted a pet monkey... I"m gonna wait until I have a couple acres so I can make a HUGE natural enclosure... I either want a capuchin or squirrel monkeys... They look sooo sweet!!

  • Remember that monkeys are not domesticated like cats & dogs and they require special treatment there whole life to fend off diseases that occur because of captivity. These animal are wild and really should be with their own kind in families where they can thrive. Do you really think its fair to the monkey to be caged just to make you happy ?

  • Do you think its fair to keep a dog in a kennel or in the backyard just to make people happy? Is it fair to dogs to breed them for human play things and never allow them to be free like wolves? No one *needs* a pet dog. If it is cruel to own a monkey even if you take good care of it, then it is cruel to own a dog.

These monkeys show no signs of stress or discomfort.

  • Do you need to have more than one for a monkey to be healthy/happy in captivity ?

  • It is highly recommended. It is not realistic that you will be able to spend 24 hours a day with a monkey for its entire life. Having a mate allows pet monkeys to play and act like monkeys, & gives the owner some time away with the monkey with the peace of mind that it is not lonely. Also it allows the monkey to know its a monkey, & better socialize with other monkeys in the future if needed. Having a pair is win win for monkey and owner.

  • I can only find one in Tennese and im on eats coast..... like 18 hours of driving....

  • Love their enclosure!! We just acquired two capuchins this weekend. One male and one female. They are about 4 years old and we are awestruck to say the least. They were from a lady who says that she was moving but we are not sure what the truth was. Anywho, we made a wonderful cage in our heated garge. We will be working on one outside as well. When we got in his cage for the first time he ran to my daughter and started hugging her like crazy.

  • I love this enclosure! ive got to get lily and brodie an out side cage too!:)

  • aww i LOVE lilly and brodie there soo cute i love CAPUCHIN MONKEYS!!!!!!!!! i really want one soo badly! as soon as i get my own house im getting a baby one like lilly! what type of capuchin is lilly?
