You have had a poor driller drill you water well, they drilled into the wrong aquifer, more than likely one with coal in the formation. It has nothing to do with natural gas wells being drilled the wells are cased off and cemented.
Where's the "Don't try this at home folks" warning? And if you do try it at home, be smarter than the one demonstrating the flaw in your water and use a candle lighter which is longer. This way you don't burn your skin/hair.
You americans now have fucking fire coming out of your taps,do you understand how stupid it sounds, the chemical's coming out of those taps is killing you, grow some balls and fight this too the death.
@trapedinabathroom well you shouldn't have drilled your water well in a naturally occuring biogenic gas accumulation. And if your going to say that it wasn't there before fracing your lying, and they can prove your lying because there is a definite difference between biogenic and thermogenic gas. Turn off Jersey Shore and read a book.
@MrChegro28 I'm sorry to have offended you with my completely opinion free post, if you actually read the post, which contained all of 23 words, you would know that in no way did I say that the biogenic gas accumulation wasn't there before, and that there wasn't a difference between biogenic and thermogenic gas. Also I've never watched Jersey Shore in my life, and my favorite book is Agitha Christie's And Then There Were None, I'd really recommend it.
We will go down in history as the most suppressed generation in history due to capitalisms humpbacked cancer filled pus gut's reign over scientific advancements and social evolution.
@woodyring That's right. The corporations have taken over the so-called government that has bankrupted it's citizens for being ill; robbed thm of their homes; convinced them that over population and environmental destruction is ok; manutactured the 9/11 event so they could go to Iraq for oil; and now, still posing as leaders but in reality are the greatest criminals the world has ever seen.
The simple answer is no. The more complete answer is the oil companies (in this case Haliburton) uses water with various chemicals and hydrocarbons in it as fracing and propelling fluid to make the gas come up. These chemicals make water interact with hydrocarbons easier so not only is the gas more dissolved in the water but you are also drinking what ever chemical it is that they just added to your ground water. Haliburton won't tell anyone what chemicals they use for this.
i have drilled water wells before and finding natural gas in shallow wells is not uncommon. however i was watching a show on tv about this and the united states has terrible laws in place for for venting gas to the air and fluid containment. i live in a very busy oil and gas region of alberta canada and vary rarely do i smell gas or ever see any other form of pollution cuased by oil companies
@ Cody Rossiter stupid ass. Ur probably a republican cynical idiot that watches fox news and is probably a tea party affiliate or spokesperson. People like you who stand up for people who don't stand for the American citizens are backwards, selfish and closed minded. I bet u if contaminated water hit close to you and people u know started getting cancer and dying off. Then it would be a problem then huh. Grow up, think of others and maybe, you can redeem yourself in the end.
@davinci8705 I think it's quite bizarre that the only person posting here who is NOT assuming these oil gas companies have evil motives (to contaminate people's tap water) is the one that is labeled as "cynical". . . . Those implying that oil companies make "record profits" at the expense of safety, have some grand conspiracy to keep chemicals secret, and commit pedophilia -- against their own *supporters* no less ... no that's not cynical.
wa wa wa the oil companies are fucking me wawawa its like that a lot of places where there is no drilling activity too ya know way to pîn it on someone with some cash
@CodyRisser Wow, you just go around being a cheerleader for oil companies. What kind of childhood trauma did you have that you would do this? Have you been touched by an oil exec?
@cocomaan cheerleader? my childhood? been touched? i dont know what is in your head but you can stay away from me. let me guess you are 40? unemployed, live in an apartment and have nothing better to do? never tried well water before? i knew it.
Judging from the comments here I can only assume that for some reason....Americans are totally crazy nuts.

@brianwy77 I agree with that because coal has methane pockets in it.
