Why did white resign? If I were white, I would at least tried to play with killing that lower black formation. If white could take K5 and A10 without black realizing what he was up to, that lower black formation would have been in a lot of trouble.
Of course I would have resigned if black responded by filling the other one, but more often than not your opponent misses things like that. It would definitely have been worth giving a try at least.
Can some1 please explain me, Im an begginer and want to learn.
after the broken ladder why didnt White just eat Black's stones (the stones of the broken ladder) I mean, that why broken ladder is bad, because the oppenet will eat your stone but White did nothing, why? did he try to take the left bottom corner, because he though it is better or what? Please explain me both minds of both players
@vladi1Z A good question, but there's time that 1 or 2 stone means nothing, some step = 50, some = 1 or 2, white think that eating the broken ladder are useless, eating 2, 3 stone cost 3-4 steps right? That 3-4 step can end the game. If black use those 3-4 step on the corner, while white r eating his ....... thingy, yea.... somethings wrong here lol
this doesnt make any sense to me. and yes i am a lowly 19k player. but i just cant see what black was trying to accomplish with the ladder. it doesnt resemble any other pro games ive seen.
@viewtifulgary He captures the white stones in the lower right corner and that is extremely huge. Then he has nice influence to make territory around the upper right corner and along the side. What is amazing is how he doesn't let white use the weaknesses left by the ladder.
@iwillswearbymymac noob kyu player..you don't even know why this game has become one of the legendary game.. because lee sedol's style is simply godlike who can make use the trick 20 move before hand..
no more noob comment say that shit ladder was fucked up or what.. both player are pro and they did their best at overhelming the oppernent
@Nickschades Heh That would have been a shame.... considering the side for whom the ladder was broken actually won the game. But seriously now, that happened a few times in pro games. Sometimes, the weaknesses left by the broken ladder were too severe to compensate even for huge loses, so not resigning actually makes sense and the game is not over there. However, the way Lee doesn't give his opponent a single chance to use the weaknesses is amazing.
white resigned caue he has no territory lower right is b's territory, lower left is seki, upper right and center is b's and upper left is w's. and the moyo in upper right is uninvadable.

@42jemini You don't want to the first move in a Seki. Besides, Black is leading with about 80 points after the ladder.

you'd think the 4p might want to read ahead (or realize somethings up) once the 6p starts playing the broken ladder, just cuze he's a pro and all =/
