  • Jack Dempsey was one of the greatest boxers that ever lived... As far as blaming Dempsey or anyone else for someone dying in the ring is ridiculous! We have high school kids dying of heart attacks in football practice, yet we lay blame to a boxer who boxes???? Give me a break! It is a brutal but tame sport if you compare it to NASCAR, downhill skiing or just about any other intense sport. I am certain that more people in the NFL would be brain dead if they had brains... Just kidding..

  • Dempsey was the refree?

  • I watchd the movie the cinderella man at school and ma teacher told me dat max seriouly had problems, that he was like insane and didnt care about killing people and stuff. It was a great movie by the way

  • @7juan23 - your teacher has his/her head up his/her ass, not one word of what you wrote is even remotely true, and I'm sorry you were schooled by a complete idiot ...

  • @MaxiesGal did he really kill smeoe=ne boxing tho?

  • @7juan23 - you can check out my own responses on this page or visit my website maxbaer dot org where I cover it all ....

  • Wow. Your teacher is an idiot.

  • @MaxiesGal Max even went to the hospital after the fight to see if things were alright. He was very caring.

  • @7juan23 Teachers often try to pass their own opinion off as fact. I would recommend you ask your teacher for documentation or directions to where you can find documentation of these facts. It sounds to me like your teacher took the movie Cinderella man to seriously. They create rivalries in film so it's more exciting to watch.

  • @HHossenfepher I have to agree, its BASED on a true story, not a biography, hollywood spices things up for money to get people to watch it, its called entertainment. I just realized that i should have said this to the juan guy, sorry no offense to you lol just agree with your statement

  • @7juan23 ya im related to max baer my grand father said he regreted that and had nightmares about killing people in the ring, he was fighting how he was taught if anything it was the officials fault for not stoping it!! so im sorry you had to hear that from your dumbass teacher, maybe you should tell her to get her facts straight

  • he also never bragged or intended to kill him like the movie said, the movie is trying to put him out as a bad guy just because it was trying to make james braddock look like some hero

  • max baer definately killed frankie campbell in the ring, lets not get confused about that.

  • @i10v3paintba11 - Campbell died as a result of Baer's punches, but Baer didn't deliberately set out to kill him, he never bragged about killing him, as alluded to in 'Cinderella Man,' Baer did NOT know Campbell was 'out on his feet' when he had him in the corner, and most importantly, if you read the bio on Campbell at my website, you'll discover Campbell had no business, in terms of expertise, experience and physical condition, being in the ring with Baer that night.

  • @MaxiesGal i know that im a max baer fan myself it actually pisses me off how the movie made him look like some kind of monster.. i might read that bio though

  • @MaxiesGal Max Baer was never the same fighter after that....He was a damn good man with no evil intent as the movie Cinderella man made him to be

  • @i10v3paintba11 No he did not kill him in the ring he severly injured him there he was in the same room as him when he was pronounced dead

  • Comiskey was a good fighter, nobody else did this to him.

  • max baer didnt kill noone, all fighters go in there for high stakes knowing only too well that their life is on the line its as simple as that, there is a case of wantingly killing someone and unfortunate accidents.

  • one of the great underated fighters of all time!

  • HAHAA Max beats him over the top rope then he's like 'what? U want me to continue?'

  • That's Ernie Schaff you speak of. Max absolutely DID NOT have anything to do with his death. Two very influential sportswriters, without reading the autopsy results, suggested that Baer's earlier blows contributed to the death, and the rumor mill did the rest. Visit the FAQs on my site. I cover all events leading up to Schaaf v Carnera, and the autopsy in detail. Schaaf had no business being in the ring v Carnera that night, but his bout with Baer had nothing to do with his death.

  • Dempsey let it go on too long.

  • so did max baer actually kill somebody in the ring or was that made up?

  • @spencer5078 - if you visit my website, go to my main channel page for the url, I wrote a lil' mini-bio on Frankie Campbell, and about 2/3ds of the way down, I cover all events leading up to, during, and after the fight.

  • Just wanted to let Maxie's fans know that, based on some family history info I provided to the International Jewish Sports Hall of Fame, Max Baer will be among its inductees for 2010.

  • dude the announcer is on crack...dempsey is a fair heavyweight...wuts the announcer smoking .....gosh.......max....is totally bad ass

  • @panzerson2 I think he was saying that tongue in cheek.

  • Bear its tarific punishment!

  • if only max had taken the game seriously like the legendary champions , could have fought the brown bomber 5 or 6 times before the war , result probably would have been the same as always but what a physique and punch , always would have been a dangerous opponent for louis.

  • is this the fight where the dude dies or something happens?

  • I think there's no mistake they're sized. And that was an extremely powerful punch. Glorious old school boxing with heart and spirit. They didn't go down when they got hit unless it was a hell of a punch or combination. *Sigh* Unlike today.

  • Truly brutal punch from Max. The guy could hit seriously hard.

  • @dapoetmaster Not better then James J Braddock :)

  • Maxxie does well when he doesn't clown. Nice over hand right!

  • That right hand he hit Comiskey with might be the most brutal single punch in the history of boxing. Like a f'n cannon went off in Comiskey's face! Such a weird punch, too -- very unorthodox, but with incredible power behind it. Max Baer is a favorite of mine, the guy was a real force of nature. Thanks MaxisGal!!

  • max was great

  • Haha, Good ol' boxing when there were little rules and no neutral corner. These guys look giantic, I wonder did the ring got bigger and taller as time went by. Jack Dempsey as special referee, awesome.

  • they r so fucking big that louis next to baer looked like a welter

  • Not sure if it changed, but camera angle probably has something to do with it.

  • Thanks for this video.
