  • Simple physics to launch using a single "pop" ignition with 10 times the speed/power. Think, the longer the barrel the faster the bullet ie. longer period of time and single ignition. Therefore you need like a metal tube which to slide the rocket onto. Weld a pipe end to a flat metal.

  • ill have to try this

  • Ive got a single 600v 3900uf cap, could it be used for anything like this? can you help me a little with its use?

  • Can someone put that into (v vs a) I would appreciate any help. Thanks a lot, I love your work.

  • Wow! That is so awesome! I have the equipment to make a magnetic rocket launcher too, but my power supply and caps are high voltage (4kV) types. I have a 32uF/4KV cap, and I recently purchased a 100 uF/4KV cap. Do you think those caps are big enough to launch a rocket like you did?

  • The 32uf@4kv is not nearly enough, and is only 256j of energy. For an induction launcher to function, you need massive currents, and a good 1500j of energy to get some excitement. The 100uf@4kv is getting closer, at 800j of energy.

  • Great work...

  • Good work!

Have you considered a more robust design on the launch platform? Maybe use a few coils to give better acceleration, and make the fins retractable?

  • That Rocks.Love the slomo.
