The band has talent but has organized it in a way that is beyond comprehension. I cannot believe this has any entertainment value.

There were a lot of mixed reactions to this last night in Madison. I have to say that I really enjoyed it. Their sound is unlike anything else out there. It reminds me of a punk japanese sigur rose with a heavy dose of psychedelia. Love it. The album is better than the live show IMO, but the energy was great.

Ponytail is amazing. If everyone has the time, go onto pitchfork tv and watch their live performance in a laundry-mat. Search it up! It's what got me into this band.
And for all the people complaining about vocals:
The vocals, and even the instrumentals, are some of the purest expressions of bliss in the human soul that I've ever heard. Shit, I can feel it when I listen to them. Audio-quality isn't the best on this video so check out some others or just get their albums. Both are amazing.
I played with these guys in Atlanta last weekend and I thought they were great live. She has a great voice, too, although this particular tune doesn't show it off. Lovely chaps, also. The internet is brimming with idiots.

Myspace hits aren't indicator of worthwhile talent if you have a big promotion behind your back, if you are an indie band it is a way like another to underline the fact that a lot of people we're simply attracted by the music, not the face, not the commercial. wow how can anyone enjoy this music, that vocalist (though thats giving her way too much credit) is just garbage. im all for people trying to do somehting new and innovated with music, but man it just sounds terrible. this is just an example of someone trying to hard to be different. the music is not bad, but with the "vocals" added its just crap.

i was unfortunate enough to have seen this band last night at rubbles bar in michigan. they actually ran their set so long that it cut out the last band from playing, so that band didnt get paid. the music is alright, but they should ditch that bitch, she destroyed the whole set. all she did was woop and pull stupid faces the whole time...over and over again! they try to cover their faults by calling themselves artistic, but their is no excuse for that girl.
You see, there's the good way to do this and the bad way to do this. The good way would be Life Without Buildings (Although she actually sings words there) and the bad way would be this.
A hobo (hobette?) seems to have wandered on stage and grabbed a microphone, ruining an otherwise decent little instrumental group's gig. Shame security wasn't about.

Ponytail is amazing. If everyone has the time, go onto pitchfork tv and watch their live performance in a laundry-mat. Search it up! It's what got me into this band.
And for all the people complaining about vocals:
The vocals, and even the instrumentals, are some of the purest expressions of bliss in the human soul that I've ever heard. Shit, I can feel it when I listen to them. Audio-quality isn't the best on this video so check out some others or just get their albums. Both are amazing.

I played with these guys in Atlanta last weekend and I thought they were great live. She has a great voice, too, although this particular tune doesn't show it off. Lovely chaps, also. The internet is brimming with idiots.

Do something, and if you wanna criticize become a critic that means spending years studying and getting a degree, and be able to write for some kind of media that is followed by more than a thousand people.good luck.

Ok, I'm not a naysayer. Ponytail has some real fun doing what they do and it translates. What I object to is the terrible logic in this defense. Since when are myspace hits any indication of worthwhile talent? Since when is criticizing the province of the elite? Everyone's a critic. Best get used to it, lutherblisset.

Myspace hits aren't indicator of worthwhile talent if you have a big promotion behind your back, if you are an indie band it is a way like another to underline the fact that a lot of people we're simply attracted by the music, not the face, not the commercial. Judgement is the province of the ignorants opinion is the province of the critic. Saying the vocals is garbage simply doesn't mean anything.

wow how can anyone enjoy this music, that vocalist (though thats giving her way too much credit) is just garbage. im all for people trying to do somehting new and innovated with music, but man it just sounds terrible. this is just an example of someone trying to hard to be different. the music is not bad, but with the "vocals" added its just crap.

i was unfortunate enough to have seen this band last night at rubbles bar in michigan. they actually ran their set so long that it cut out the last band from playing, so that band didnt get paid. the music is alright, but they should ditch that bitch, she destroyed the whole set. all she did was woop and pull stupid faces the whole time...over and over again! they try to cover their faults by calling themselves artistic, but their is no excuse for that girl.

Its prcisely that kind of negativity cloaked in enthousiasm that provides the carry for such cultural depravity. In the end its all about "look shes doing what all those nags say she cant do". as if the frustration you obviously feel with the stifling, faux-liberated mannerism, typical of youth culture in our time, is suddenly going to be cast out by a cult of the inane.
