Not quite true for the beginning consoles; SH2 and on up was for Xbox and PC (variably).

I think it's because now these days, a lot of the games, 'specially the big games, most of the time players expect them to be multi-console. But now we got console wars regardless. n.n *sigh* And there are a lot of exceptions, like Gears of War n' such being on the Xbox's stuff.

I do agree on the graphics, though. *will attempt to link up a response vid somewhat relevant*

I didnt like Origins mainly because it gave me no motivation. i felt suicidal while playing that game because i felt i wasnt accomplishing anything. Sure i felt a little drowsy during SH3 but at least I had a goal: to get back home and tell my dad what a fucking horrible day i had, which made it even more dramatic when Heather found out he was killed. Now the motivation is revenge

And the reason for it being the gayest game in the world is? Note: Before you take a fanboy fit, it's not because it's on the Wii. For one it's not Wii exclusive, and secondly it's the PS2 that's the limiting factor for the graphics, since the Wii version is a port.

people are just skeptical because Homecoming wasnt that great (felt to much like the movie) but even that one was kinda cool it had hit and misses, but as a whole it wasnt a bad SH (better then 4, like anyone SH could of been worse then 4)

What i'm most looking forward to about this game is the monster evolution! The monsters are supposed to evolve with your game playing style and choices. Plus, with almost each game being unique in its own way; I think the re-play value will be HUGE!!!!!!

I happened to like Origins. It reminded me of Silent Hill 2. I understand the point that it didn't try to innovate. But it was a good way to get into the tone of making a silent hill game. Homecoming was quite good. It played well. And it was pretty faithful as far as the symbolism that is a part of Silent Hill.

It may seem strange that people are thinking badly of this game because it is not going to be on the newer consoles, but I believe it's because when Silent Hill 2, for example, came out, it was on the newest and latest consoles. But with this game, it's not going on the newest consoles, so people automatically are unsure about it. But I think it is done unconsciously, and when it is released, people will hopefully be impressed. I am personally looking forward to this game.

I actually liked Origins. I thought it was fun, and it did its job as a Silent Hill game. Of course, the weapon degradation system wasn't as implemented as well as it could have been, and the game contradicted SH1's storyline, but it did nail one of the most important things in a Silent Hill game: atmosphere. It felt very much like a Silent Hill game.

If you ask me, that's not even a problem. People who don't accept changes are the ones who are holding the game industry back. Changes are good. Many good series have been completely destroyed by sequels because the creators are not willing to take risks they once did. Series such as Metal Gear.

Though I have my own doubts. But that's because of Climax. They did a pretty good job with Origins considering it was a PSP title, but it still lacked a lot of things, like a good narrative.

In my personal opinion, the only real Silent Hill games were just 1-3. The fourth, The Room, was a little far off from the story, it felt like the Silent Hill story line was just dropped from there. I didn't really get into Silent Hill Origins, as well as Silent Hill Homecoming either. I am really hoping that Shattered Memories doesn't disappoint, from the many things that I heard, it's suppose to be a cool game! I really hope it starts to pick up, I'm a huge Silent Hill. Kudos to this video!

You have GOT TO PLAY 0rigins! I'm not kidding. The single coolest room in any SH game is in 0rigins, in the the Theatre (the antonin artaud theatre no less). Plus, it's the best in the series at staying a period piece, since SH1 was sort of retconned into taking place in the 80's. You can tell 0rigins takes place in 1979 though, it's fantastic. The only down side of SH0 is the combat, which is a little too close to SH4 for comfort, but it isn't quite as bad. You do have to run, though.

But playing through Homecoming was fun. I didn't like The Room at all. The new gameplay and combat mechanics in Homecoming are good too. Great bosses too. I haven't played Origins yet. Of course the best one was 2.

You're right!! When I found out about Shattered Memories I shied away, I've had my heart broken before with homecoming (hahaha, I'm a loser), and I think most people felt the same. I tried to think about the pros, but you completely reassured me. Especially with the one comment about how Climax (Haha) ISN'T trying to siphon money out of fans. Homecoming broke my heart too. I didn't think they had the balls to make it a fighting game, but thats the last time I doubt the size of an American's balls. It was only more painful because I had learned to trust American SH's on the count of SH0. What I fool I was. Thank god this one is just Climax.

Team Silent KNOW what the game is all about. 1-3 were epic, 4 was a bit crap becos it wasnt even suppose to be a silent hill in the first place, it was a supposed to be a spin off. Homecoming is DECENT, way better than 4 and origins but not better than any of the efforts from TS from SH 1-3 IMO.

question about the whole aspects part. 2 things actully.

1.I understand that they want you to feel helpless with no combat. But dose that mean that they've given you no means to defend yourself from danger? Survival horror your trying to stay alive, but I kinda wanted to get the feeling of "hey, I have a chance" if I at least had a lead pipe, or something.

2. Will the PS2 port of this game have similar features. Like the different secerions based on actions on the game?

Every version of the game will have that 'psychological progression' system that changes the storyline as far as I know.

And I have heard recently something about flares being used as defensive weapons, sort of like a distraction more than anything.

I disagree that Climax knew they would be taking over for Konami. I think they probably expected to make only one game, but when offered the chance to make another, went ahead and became more ambitious.

I agree though with most of this audioblog. Your points are very good, and I agree that most new ideas never turn out great the first time. I am definitely looking forward to this game.
