  • even with all the deadly traps this was still easier than what the egg had in sonic 2

  • Guessing this was a long boss, considering the editing

  • It depends on how good you are at manipulating the little spikey things.

  • To be honest, I'm grateful I didn't know about this when I was a kid. I thought it was like Sonic 2 where Super was mostly a cosmetic thing and not overly useful.

  • Super Sonic wasn't cosmetic in 2, but it came with a drawback that made it supremely unwieldy: it was very, very slippery and hard to control in situations where precision was required. The height of the jump and the increased speed, not to mention the invincibility, made it good enough to be useful regardless, and you could BLOW THE GAME TO PIECES if you managed to get all seven Emeralds before leaving Emerald Hill Zone.

Sonic 3 makes it a lot easier to use Super Sonic, tho'...

  • @SolarisParadox

I was referring to the overall effect on the ending. In 2 it was merely a cosmetic change, unlike here where it unlocks a whole other part of the story. And on a personal note, I quickly got sick of Super Sonic's themes simply because it looped infinitely. Besides, the invincibility took all the fun out of dodging enemies for me. But, that's just how I prefer to play.

  • hahaa i saw the time skip in that boss battle

  • best final stage in any sonic game ever.
