Speculation on the "You," the "I," and the "George"....
If "I" (meaning whoever is singing this song) is a male, then either "You" is a girl who George was also in love with and the poor guy just couldn't take being rejected, or "You" is another male and all three characters are gay.
But if "I" (the singer) is a girl, then either "You" is a male and George was gay, or "You" is another girl, "I" (the singer) is a lesbian, and poor hetero George was left out in the cold. =)
What cracks me up about him is the way he'll be in the background playing the piano while the main scene's going on in the foreground, and he'll keep glancing backwards.
My dad wrote this! He sang it when he was with Stan Kenton's band back in '61 and it appears on the "Stan Kenton Live at the Las Vegas Tropicana" album! What a treat to hear a tribute like this! His name was Red Kelly, and he played the bass.

I love this song, one of my favourite Rowlf skits. Just brilliantly humorous. Well, Y&I&G may not have been an everpopular classic at the time, but thanks to Rowlf, it is now! Mission accomplished, Rowlf!
better than Justin Beiber.

This was originally recorded by Stan Kenton, if you can believe that. It is in his album, "Kenton at the Tropicana."

I made a HUGE mistake rating the 1 star. Apologies; I wasn't even TRYING to rate it yet. I have a really stupid mouse.
Anyways, had I not made that mistake, I would've given it 5 because this song is great.
George and I listen to it every day. :B
