  • i have mine set up with 2 fans and yet the temp fluctuates between 93 and 102 in a period of bout 15 mins is this ok?

  • @MrBobflipper no ..it needs to stay between 99.0- 100.5 ...i think at 103-6 they are fried.....do you have a dimmer switch on the bulbs?....you can get the temp perfect with one. :)

  • @london1817 nope i dont have a dimmer switch and ive tryd moving the thermostat closer to the bulb and for a short period of time i had it at a 95-100 range then it went back to 93-102 some how

  • @MrBobflipper do you have holes bored in the side?

  • now that the old bulbs are illegal to sell, where do we find one?

  • @jamesbnorman1 they still sell them...the 100s are gone by the end of the year, then the 60s in 2013, 40s in 2014 ... or something like that. Best thing to do is buy a LIFETIME supply of them! Im getting phillips bulbs cheap at home depot 16cents each i think--bulk packs. I have literally hundreds of each wattage. Screw you government! NOone tells me what bulbs i can use!

  • What's the ideal humidity that needs to be maintained until it hatch?

  • @jologamefarm 60% til day 19. then as high as you can get it til hatch.

  • @london1817 what temperature shouLD the incubator get to?

  • @Gualbert101197 its a very touchy temp....99 - 101 at the very hottest...or they fry.

  • how do i keep the temperature from dippin in the low 90's with the same set up

  • @jherrin4 you gotta work with it...try boring a few holes in the side and running a fan..Or put a little bowl

with a sponge with hot water in it to get the temp right & the humidity.

  • can i do it with a box a cardbaord if yes can u make a video of it

  • @xile52302 I think thats a fire hazzard.....I couldn't sleep with it on.

  • hi i would like to get one of those heat maintaince switch

  • @GeorgiesChannel Its all pretty much the same principle....just do the research on your bird you want to hatch.

this would work for any egg I would think.

  • I like all your videos,as i am a chicken lover, but as i live in Calafornia,in the city of Mission Viejo--All i can do is CRAVE the country life, but watching your videos, make me happy.if you are on facebook, please send me the link.

  • are those contacts with the yellow boots over the fan live when the light is on?

  • @MDM781 I hope not.

  • Cool it works! We did this for a homeschooling project. Thanx so much we learned a lot.

  • @Rgvamvmiv well good! thanks for the comment!

  • how do you get to turn the eggs 3 times a day? do you have to keep opening the incubator and turn then by hand?

  • @noremorselethal I turned mine by hand 2 times a day.......right before work.... then right before bed.

  • Does your incubator also electrocute the chicks?

  • @IncomeGDI thats the funniest thing I have heard all day.

  • ive tried this and its works great and the chickens taste nice to!

  • Do i have to have a fan ?

  • @ciaraarstall31 for certain....the air has to move.

  • The third wire on the fan is for either a speed control (defaults to full speed if no signal is present) or a stall sensor (some have both).

  • Thank you very much for your help, I watch other video hook up all the wires. It is working now. I will hatch 7 Muscovy ducks soon. Thanks again

  • what kind of light did you use

  • @towersjavin 60 watt bulb.

  • im having problem in controlling the humidity coz i dont have humidity meter. how can i estimate the humidity? how my big should be the hole and the amount of water.. tnx.. and Godbless

  • @tugdang never guess temp or humidity !! you need to buy a guage at harbor freight.com that does it both for about $12 us.

  • trouble maintaining temps... light comes on and heats to 100 exactly... but then when it goes off it lets it cool down to 97 degrees... do i need to heat to 102??

  • Hey Rick! I am having trouble maintaining temperatures... I followed your directions to the letter but when the light comes on, it stays on until 100 degrees... then it goes off and it cools down to about 97 before it comes back on... is that ok? I have the humidity level correct... but the 3 degrees worries me a great deal....

  • do we have to rortate

  • @kashifqw Yes,......once in the morning & once at night.

  • What should be humiduty and tempture?

  • @kashifqw the temp needs to be 99-100 exactly no exceptions! The humidity needs to be around 60%..but 2 days before hatching it should be around 90% It takes 21 days to hatch an egg.....use hot wet sponges in bowls to get it up that high. happy hatchings!

  • Having trouble maintaining temps... gets up to 100 degrees and cuts off like its supposed to, but then allows it to cool down to 97 before coming back on... do i need to heat it up more to remain at an ambient temp when not on???? maybe set it for 102... and hope it stays up to 99??

  • @TheFishfam06 well 97 is just right as long as it dosent go under like 93 for more then 2 hours.

  • which eggs should i use?The one which i bring from the store.

What should be humiduty and tempture?

  • @kashifqw NO..NO..NO!....get fertilized eggs from someone with a few chickens and a rooster that is the

correct breed( craigs list) that you want to have on your farm............get you some Black copper marans...best choice

all around for meat & eggs....do your reseach on what you are going to need to know....goggle it man! & good luck.

  • @london1817 could u tell me a place which is in canada,toronto

  • do u add water inside the cooler to get the humidity rite

  • @basketballercell yes, but thats where you have to be careful...put a bowl with the cheap sponges

in it so nobody drowns in it.

  • what do i do if its only only one egg?? Heat lamp??

  • @KiDRusSiA Fry it on a pan.

  • @london1817 no

  • hey london how many egg did u hatch at 1 time in your incubator?

and thanks for the idea on how to make 1

  • @hippogriff7314 I hatched 8 eggs.

  • It does not work for me, I want to know how do you connect wire thermostat to the light ?.

    Thanks

  • @khonglap Check out my web site with the full video on the wiring part...its free.

  • how many days will take for da chicks get out of da egg

  • @saucedojorjito always 21 days.

  • cool u need to show us the eggs hatching

  • @16shantell I have a couple videos up with eggs hatching.

  • cool

  • my thermostat reading shows 2-3 degrees C more then 2 thermometrs. y is this case?

  • @maradonasssssss Because its not a good one.

  • @london1817 they worked for a couple of hours and temps are almost equal. i used a small fridge and placed the heating wires on the top, the eggs in middle and the water on the bottom. ive added partridge eggs just today. no fan. the temp is 37.5 on the eggs and humidity around 55 % around eggs. Ive heard that still air incubators temp need to be higher...what do you reccomend?

  • @maradonasssssss just fined a computer fan and set it up

  • sounds a little difficult but ill try!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks!

  • @TheAmazingGreek1 I have a how to wire it all up video on my website...that is the easiest to follow. & free.

  • Did you find a large fluctuation with temps? I saw this post this morning, made one tonight but the on/off cycle has about a 5 degree window. Im not sure if the thermo is sensitive enough to keep a steady 99. Any info? Thanks

  • @glittergrl01 same here. Any info?

  • @glittergrl01 I runed in in same troble like u whit temp. jumping so i vent out and bout for $5 rotary dimmer. now it works! and you don't really need a termostat - but i left it on just in case temp will jump up for some reson so termostat will shut the ligth off at 102 degre.

  • Thanks a lot for your info Mr. I will built one same like yours. or to get some ideas from you.. More power, and invent more dude....

  • @joevicdelapaz Thanks very much...i will try!

  • working on a incubator like yours just hatched one from a styrofoam cooled worked well going for 10 in the new one ill let you know how it works thanks for the video lots of good info

  • @ewatson37640 sounds good! good luck!

  • Hey great video I made one similar to this waiting for eggs tho. I enjoyed watching your video keep it up. =)

  • @Chriswardens52 Thanks! Get you some eggs of craigs list in your area...thats what I have done.

  • I bet this dude Has a indoor weed incubator, Beacuase he has the JAMACIAN flag sticker in the backround!

  • Excellent video. I built an exact replica of your incubator, and it holds temp. marvelously. Thanks for posting this! Saved me so much money on buying an incubator.

  • Well worth the time. Best 10 min to get the drift off how to. Plus, ya dunnit. Thus endeth the sermon.

  • @gothamwarlord Thanks mang!

  • Thanks Man. You answered some of my first , key questions. Nicely done.

    Mr. Mark

  • @gothamwarlord no problem..anytime!

  • You should let your wife do the commentary on these videos. Your rambling is difficult to understand and you are terrible at explaining and staying on point. I am interested in your subject matter but it is painful to watch you. Sorry bub.

  • @uncleken1234 awe man...be cool now.

  • This is the hickiest incubator ever!!! Love it.

  • @tec16 i TAKE THAT AS A COMPLIMENT! THANKS!

  • Don't connect the thermostat in parallel with the lamp, you will have a nasty surprise, it should be in series.

  • @faab99 I don't know how the heck mine worked!

  • you sho make a video making an incubato step by step.

  • @flowvandelssquad I have the demo how to wire it up on my website!

  • you should make a video on making an incubator whith instuctions step by step

  • also i have the same incubator that your wife put a tube in to add water. just wondering did you have trouble keeping the tem up to 99.5 because it seemed i had sum trouble myself

  • @will31ish The little giant cannot be beat! I never use my old one in this video. the little giant holds the temp perfect.

  • just was wondering do you know anything about hatching ducks like the humidity level. thanks

  • Why is that white men love wearing the traditional simple wedding ring on their hand that they write with unlike their partner she instead wears a fancy decorative ring and he simple ring that is either gold or silver. Married men like to show the world with that annoying simple ring on their hands. Men who are in relationship or married like to Showoff to the world of their marital status in order to show off their superiority.

  • @anold130 Your not married huh?

  • Jamaican flag in the background there *yay* BTW very informative video. thanks.

  • @ChinkieChase I love Jamaica! Thanks for the comment!

  • how can i see the wiring video?

  • @alksdrn go to the website & click on the video. it is free.

  • thanks for the advice a few weeks ago! We hatched 12/24 fertile eggs from Trader Joe's with a fairly identical incubator. All in the brooder, 1 week old now.

  • @liamdanielmccarthy Thats good news! I have 40 in the brooder starting today right now & 50 babies from last weeks hatching!

  • excuse me how do you make the computer fan to 12 volts connected to wall umm what wires do i connect to make contact for the comuter fanto work

  • @iPaiLO you need to first get an old cell phone charger plug that is 12 volts....then hook the fan to it.

  • i think i will try that its not like there going to get mad at me for messing up.lol how is ur incubator doing so far and good luck. i have a total of 31 chicks and 4 them are rooters.

  • @will31ish Oh thanks mine is doing great! I have 26 eggs on day 7...so I can candle them next weekend! Wow you got lucky! i alway get 20 roosters and 3 hens! LOL..not that bad but you know!

  • edison didnt invent the lightbulb

  • i got 16 chicks and 6 in the incubator drying off and like 5 more eggs r trying to come out i learned the hard way don't help them out because i first chick died.do u have floor plans for a chicken coop for about8 or 9 well just wondering.again thanks for all your help its been great!!

  • @will31ish congrats!! Hope you like having chickens around as much as I do! I don't have any plans....I never follow plans..just build it! Go for it!

  • sorry i meant to say know not no

  • well i have a baby chick coming out of its shell. i would like to no if and when i should help the chick out i don't want them to die and iam not sure if the humidity is right. or not . or am i just a worried new parent lol.

  • thank you. great video!!!!!!! also my chickens should be here in about 4 or 5 day

  • @will31ish Cool. good luck with your new chickens...I am starting to incubate 32 tomorrow

myself...I am very happy with that!

  • i need to know then or not i can turn the fan off to the incubator .thanks again

  • @will31ish The fan has to be on all the time..even after they hatch to get them some oxygen

thru the holes drilled thru the cooler.

  • I don't make fun of people and I did not make fun of you if you read my comment. I do not know you personally so I could not have made a personal comment. My comment was a general one in regards to your presentation of your speech (guide). word of advice one list the items you used, two explain what each part is for, three show how you made it step by step. if you do the step by step you won't stutter as much cause you are actually doing what you are thinking.

  • @the3johnsongirls good advise...The video was a spur of the moment & I never do good on those. That is a good idea...doing step by step...I will work on that! ..Thanks for the comment. Have a nice night! & thanks.

  • i have one more question for you. then can i turn the fan off?

  • No disrespect but that was torture to listen to you give a speech on the construction of a incubator. It sounded as if you were not the one who built it cause you stuttered to much.

  • @the3johnsongirls Yes i have a stuttering problem & I did build it. You most likely make fun of people in wheel chairs huh?

  • however, since it's for my son's 5th grade science project, I'd like to have at least a small amount of succes :D

  • ok, drilled some holes for air flow and got an AC-DC transformer that goes from 1.5V-12V. Which is really cool becaue now I can regulate the fan speed, it seems to help regulate temp. What was the variation in temp. you found? Mine is goine from about 97F-101F more or less. I'm thinking that's ok, since hens will be getting up and moving around. Since this is my first hatch, and actually I woudn't care so much as of the outcome.

  • ok, I got it put together, it apparently reached a 100.3F temp. and shut off. Then went down to about 90.1F is that normal?

  • @liamdanielmccarthy You have to drill holes in the side and do some tweakin to get the temp right.

Go to the flea market and get an old cell phone charger for maybe a couple dollars.

  • ok, but you said you covered the holes mostly, so you must have uncovered during hatching, and those several 1/8 inch or whatever holes are enough to provide fresh air, but not decrease the temp/humidity? Also, I just came back from Best Buy. They have only 1 charger that is 12v, and it's $20, most of them are 5v. If I use a 6v or 9v charger on a 12v comp. fan, will that still work? Thanks!

  • Thanks for the video! I'd like to make one today, already got the old cooler cleaned out, and I have a couple questions:

    1. I have read that the chicks remain in the incubator for 24 hours after hatching. How can they breath in a sealed unit, won't they suffocate?

    2. Have you tested the accuracy of your thermo/hygrometer, and why is one with memory required?

    Thanks again!

  • @liamdanielmccarthy No because there are vent holes & the fan blowing it in. Memory... if you come home and it says 103 you can check to see if you should just

toss the eggs in the trash.

  • well i wake up this morning and the humidity was at like 87 so i think its the thermometer. do you know if did will hurt being to high???

  • @will31ish what is the exact humidity level?

  • well my wife thinks your cooler is smaller than the incubator that iam using.i forgot also it has holes on the bottom of it so i cant add water to the bottom unless i put it in a plastic container.

  • ok i have 4 cups of water and a sponge and i still cant keep the humidity up the highest it will go is 50 to 55 and you said the last 3 days it need to be like 70 how did you do that??? thanks again an also Harbor freight in lakeland Florida dont carry that type of thermometer for sum reason. i guess i will keep the walmart thermometer and hope for the best thank you again

  • @will31ish Harbor F. has it online for sure! Your incubator is not right....sounds WAY to big to me! Video it and send it to me today!

  • just wanted to know what you think about reg glass and just duck tape it down to the cooler and also what kind of thermometer do you recommended because i have a acu rite and they say its about 1 to 2 degrees off

  • @will31ish Red glass is fine. You need any digital temp & humidity guage. With memory. I got mine at Harbor freight for 10 us dollars.

  • heres what the part is called for those wondering . Camco Metal and Plastic Lower Water Heater Thermostat @ home depot

  • how did I get here??

    lol

  • @darlenedollish24 As the days go by. water flowing under ground.

  • @london1817 erm...huh??

  • @london1817 ok we need some more details . like make model number of the water you made . like the flow valve . and stopper thing. and on the heat regulater {water heater control } whats the make and model or does it have numbers to tell home depot what we want ? just saying you rock bro .lol i have been watching your vids sence the soal panel and cat getting tagged by fence .lol

  • @london1817 opps my bad lol just incase you didn't figure it out . i was asking about 2 things on 2 different vids you posted

  • Note that, the other wire of fan is not for low speed. It's a tachometer sensor out.

  • how does the thermostat work? are there any wire for you to connect or just put in batties and it work itself.

  • @cancelhot go to my website and see the how to wire up a incubator (free).

  • how do you wire the light fixture to the thermostat. cant do that i had it all wrong. please help it for my kid thanks

  • @will31ish OK. follow the instructions from the water heater thermostat. The light takes the place of the element...power in to the top of the thermo. then the bottom to the light. The fan is on its own power sorce.

  • @london1817 is there sum type of wire i need because i keep tripping the breaker. do i have to separate the white and black wire. and do i need to do the same for the light. please help or can you show in detail what you did thanks again

  • @will31ish use lamp cord. I need to do a better video that explains it better. maybe this weekend.

  • @will31ish Hey!! I have the video on my website on the wiring. just go to the incubator video (on youtube) then at the bottom click to the website. (yes its free) I made this just for you soooo I hope you like it...merry Christmas!

  • thank you sooooo much me and my friend are hatching eggs for our science project thank you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @acrofitness1998 Thanks for the comment!

  • Hey! Tell your wife to lay off on the editing! I wanted to hear what else you thought about it and she must be chopping those pieces off. I think you were about to say "we had chicks everywhere", but I'm not sure cause the natural flow of conversation was chopped.

  • @Brian080982 Haha. Thats funny. If she didn't ..my video's would be too long she said. All of them get chopped way down. I did say we had dibbs everywhere. 45 I think. Thats alot to me.

  • Is it awesome that you remind me of knoxville, or that I borrowed your idea? Just wondering. I used a 10 gallon aquarium, but I think I am going to get some 1" thick styrofoam sheets and make a permanent one. I was also thinking of using a tall glass jar of water with a aquarium heater in it for humidity. Any thoughts?

  • @nloosemore Haha..I get that alot ! the Knoxville thing.

That would be a great idea as long as you cover the glass of water

with screen or something so they don't drown. just get a thermometer to make sure the temp stays between 99-101.

  • Great idea, I borrowed it and it works great

  • @nloosemore That is awesome! I am building a new one that

is way bigger than the last one.

  • This guy reminds me of Johnny Knoxville. I don't know why

  • is there a easier way to make an incubator

  • @MsVanessa8989 There is only one other way. In the spring

some hens will sit on them and take care of them. OR you can buy an incubator at tractor supply.

  • Do you think i could use a propagator as an incubator?

  • getto

  • @sammy10137 so what

  • my love birds abandon their eggs should i try this method .kindly reply

  • @drdukeful I would. But I would do some research first.

  • Thanks for the Video. I hatch 9 eggs yesterday. but sadly i wasnt there to see the first two. I had a small container of water for the humidity. they both drown in it. I will make sure next time to block the container. All the chicks are doing good..

  • @lajigg At least you got a bunch of them out of the group.

  • yesterday i cracked open a chicken egg an i found some feathers and what looked like organs so i looked up and it was a half way done chick!

  • @TheHermitcrab101 How long had it been? Were the 21 days up?

  • @london1817 oh i was just cooking

  • the light that is wired with the thermostat, hopefully you ment is wired in series, otherwise when you first turn the incubtor on to warm up, there will be a dead short and cause your circuit breaker to trip.

  • puras estupideses pendejo

  • hi again, i m so happpy, today afternoom i heard two eggs pipping, but when i candled them, there aren´t air sac, all the egg is dark

  • hi, i dont know what to do yesterday , my turkey hen has abbandoned her eggs, i put them in a box under a light bulb to try to keep them worm, but i think the temperature went too hot over the night, they only need a week to hatch, i candeled but i couldnt see any movement inside. sorry for the gramatics, im from Peru .

  • @fondo121 You have great gramatics! Maybe she knew they were not fertile. She might be the kind to not sit

on eggs. There is no way to make a hen broody. Maybe lock her in a cage with them in the nest.

  • Respond to this video...

hey Rick...... do you let the fan run 24/7 or have it kick on and off?

  • @ezralane Depends on the temp. in the incuabtor Make sure it stays between 99-102 degrees.

  • @london1817 Thanks for the quick reply!!! One more? @ what level should the fan be ie.... top bottom middle the same thing with the light sponge eggs thermostat etc.. all the same levels or staggard or what?¿?¿ Thanks for your time

  • @ezralane doesn't matter. Just don't blow it at the temp guage.
