This is actually quite sensible. They are recognizing that it does happen and giving rules to ensure the women is not hurt. You have to take this in the context of the society in which they live. This is not advocating beating really - don't hit the face, don't leave bruises or draw blood - sounds pretty sensible really.

This is actually quite sensible. They are recognizing that it does happen and giving rules to ensure the women is not hurt. You have to take this in the context of the society in which they live.
