@IIMuseDubstep the launchpad is a controller, so no, it's not designed to produce music. what it does is takes loops you get from outside sources (let's say a stem from fruity loops or a sound clip from a youtube video) and enables you to mesh them together in creative ways via the mixers, mute and cue features. So it's not a standalone production machine the was the mpc or maschine is.
hey can you please reply to me on this. I want to buy one one of these, but i want to know if it is good for PRODUCING music. I dont do anything live. I just produce. So would I be able to do this with the launchpad?
@IIMuseDubstep One would surmise that whomever is producing these product vids would at the very least answer your question if they want to move product huh. I guess anticipating potential customers enquiring about it musta slipped their mind
quick question and an answer would be appreciated. i have been looking for a trigger finger but since they were discontinued i haven't. would this be a similar or better substitute?
@Makinwaves02 its not what he does with the launchpad, its mostly what he does in ableton live, the counless hours he spends cutting and pasting and editing and sampling and organizing ideas, thats what makes producers and madeon stand out, not so much how he presses a few pads.
Er well there are loads and loads of different regional english accents, mancunian, yorkshire, somerset, just as there are in any language. I guess thats what you were talking about?
@deucegoblin Same problem with mines, so I took it back got a new one, and I was able to have lights come on but I think the problem is that I dont know how to use it.
how would I go abot using this while i use my turntables in a program like virtual dj or traktor? I want to get one and useit to load up clips and effects while I play gigs.
@cefrio The pads can be midi mapped with Novations Automap but I can't imagine it'd be too usefull in Cubase. Try the Demo version of Live if you're interested in this type of controller.
@Mikeper94 Yes. I know what it's called. My point is that just about every music product ad tries to sound posh and sophisticated by using said British accents to the point where it is now a tired cliche. You stupid dirty donkey dick breath twat.
@Telekon5 England is at the forefront of electronic dance music. (The main use for this type of peripheral) Plus a lot of the gear is Designed and built by Brits. So grow up and live with it. I don't complain about American accents every time I turn on the TV. If you think the guy on this video sounds "posh and sophisticated" You should leave that trailer park and visit somewhere with some culture
@deanobro69 English accents for commercials and demos is cliche period. It has as much to do with being on the forefront as using dog poo to condition your hair does. Oh and you have no idea where I live so stop making assumptions dumb ass.
Congratulations. You get a shiny medal made out of polished shit for stupidest comment of all time. You're gonna die of ignorance before you know it. The makers of this video chose the British guy probably because he specializes in that particular category of electronic equipment, not because he has an accent. Anyone can make a fake accent if they wanted to sound posh. Now get the fuck off YouTube and soak up some culture, ass clown.
I don't really expect you to be offended (but maybe a little) since you seem like that type of guy. I expect you to take a hint and not be ignorant in the future. Jackass.
i'd say it would take a hell lot of time if you've never done them. learning the DAW takes some time, learning the synth takes sometime, learning the theory behind takes some time, and eventually to set the tool itself you'll have to manifest some time too
it was just a heads up,that normally it wont be soon before they know their way around, because of the complexities and just because there's so much possibility that can be done using such tools. so take your time!
hi,,,,i have the launchpad, and i was originally using it with the novation version of ableton, and now i am using the full version of ableton live 8, but i can't see the launchpad in the control surface...help anyone please?
Novation document support for this product. SUCKS. there is no real manual for it, only quick start guides. Great product. too bad they dont give you any solid information for getting under the hood and programming it.
dude you have the craziest eyes i've ever seen, it looks like you've just killed your family

Two questions, one relevant, one less so-
1. Can it launch MIDI note patterns? I've never used Ableton but it seems like it'd be a really handy feature
2. Why are the button led's less vibrant? Is it just the amount of light in the room?
