@GTVAlfaMan Security guard has the right BY LAW to arrest you for ANY crime on the property even littering and thats usually including parking lots. Granted he was a bit pushy BUT the man refused to comply if he was innocent then he should have had no problem, if he was guilty then h is in the wrong for not complying.
I am a former soldier, and soon to be cop as well. I can tell you this that guard was could have legally done alot more if he felt nessary, but he played nice for the old man. Personally I would have given him one chance to leave, and if he refused he would have been detained and held in the security room until the police arrived, and would have persued going after the other guys.
@fergfergferg123 you have no clue wtf you're talking about. getting mad cause mike, or myself doesn't want your nasty legend of Zelda dungeon vagina. you got turned down deal with it!
@fergfergferg123 uh yeah ok, lol cause you know so much about me right? from all the people at that failing security company you work for? stfu do your bf a favor and go pay attention to him instead of co workers or youtube.
Then the security guard had no authority to detain this man for public intoxication. The security guard can either ask the man to leave the premises or call the police. He has no right to detain him or even place his hands on him, and absolutely no right to put a choke hold on him when he tried to leave.
@GTVAlfaMan he had every right to detain him, not for that reason, but for tresspassing and bringing intoxicants on private property. Once anyone places thier hands on a security guard they then have the right to stop the threat with equil force. I myself would not have done that cause his age, but I would have detained him.
@toptrichs ...Right and we will all save the day when we are behind bars ourselves. You're a fucking coward because all you do is troll behind a computer. Since we filmed this this man lost his job, that's way better then beating him up, and getting a criminal record.

@toptrichs ... Grow up?? Really? Dude you're a fucking troll who wants people to throw them selves in jail by beating up a security guard on camera? For what so we can get charged? With your attitude, the world would be in jail. Sounds to me like your the coward for talking shit, and having not much else to say... IN THE US-my state, the security guard CAN ask the people to stop filming on PRIVATE PROPERTY, such as a store, mall, etc. BUT they can NOT "arrest" the citizen unless they have PROOF he has stolen. If the guy refuses to open his coat, because they are suspicious, they can not DETAIN HIM. They have to SEE him steal. "WALKING LOPSIDED" is not enough reason to detain a citizen.
I believe that if you are disturbing the peace then yes they can ask you to leave the premise, but I was filming on the street, and people have the right to film anything that is happening in the community. It's a very grey area, but one that I can work with very well.
@KingsRansomFilms MAYBE in Canada thats how it works. HERE, in the US, PRIVATE PROPERTY MEANS JUST THAT. There is NO "grey area". Its very clear and simple. If you are asked to leave or stop filming-whatever, on PRIVATE PROPERTY, you need to do so. LEGALLY. That includes parking lots, sidewalks on the property-ANYWHERE on the property. You may step beyond the property limits and continue filming. From public property, you can film anything that you can see with your naked eye. Its very simple.
@KingsRansomFilms The person filming is OBVIOUSLY on PRIVATE PROPERTY. Canada OR the US, if you are asked to stop filming on PRIVATE PROPERTY, you are obliged to do so and could be subject to arrest if the mangmnt of that property choose to call the polcie and press charges. There is NO grey area about conduct on PRIVATE PROPERTY. HUGE difference between PRIVATE and PUBLIC property. Just because they arent INSIDE the store doesnt mean its PUBLIC property.
After all, the only way you would get to see Germany is if someone else paid for it! And not everyone was a nazi party member during the war in Germany. Stick to "SWAT" magazine and leave History to the educated! Now survey your site guard!
The truth is, every citizen has the right to the powers of arrest if they witness an unlawlful act. If this security officer represents the owner of the private property, he can ask someone to leave the property, if that person doesn't comply, the officer then witnesses an unlawful act, which is criminal trespass and can make the lawful arrest like this security officer did.
unfortanly the security officer does have the power of authroity on his company premisis only when hes on duty but i dnt knw y he was saying ur under arest tho lol
Security Guards have no authority and are made up of: Whackers, Wannabees,Police imposters, morons, rogue cops, psychos, drug addicts, kleptomaniacs, child molesters, functional illiterates, persons with developmental impairments, Racists, psychopaths and Mammas Boys, People who hang on the fringe of legitamate law enforcement. Who work for $6.55 an hour and are content with it. I wish that was me he was fucking with! Id have given him a concrete facial.
Woah, woah there pal, Do they have as much authority as a cop? Definately not, But on the premises they're bound by contract to protect, they do have SOME rights, Now can they beat someone up because they look suspicious? NO, but if somebody shoplifts, they have every right to use force. Now this Guard DEFINATELY took it a little too far on that poor old man, But give a Guard a "Concrete facial" On his own posted area, and Thats considered a serious offense-Well, pretty serious.
gee, most of those that you've mention can be found in a lot of other career positions too. btw, all security guards don't around that amount. i depends on the company and where they place you. i know some that make $18/hr.
Yeah they are lying to you kid! You can only make that if you actually own the company. That is until you get sued and have to declare bankrupsy. Dont believe the rent cop hype! Do you know the difference between a guard who is a high rank and been there 30 years and a new Guard who just started? The answer is .5cents.

What a useless, cop-wannabe piece of crap. Real cops would make mincemeat out of this joke of a security guard (and yes, the security guard DID violate law when he touched the old man).
No, honey, they don't. Some have limited power of arrest, if they have received training and licensing for it, but most have the same powers as private citizens. Furthermore, the ones that do have deputy powers are still held to the strictures that apply to police, and that means appropriate force is to be used if necessary--and placing an old, unarmed man in a headlock is a bit of overkill.
And even then, it's a bad idea. Just ask the family of the man Ricky Coleman killed.
how the fuck r u going to try to tell me my job....im a rent a cop...on private property you can make an arrest for a summary misdemeaner or felony offence and if the subject doesnt comply....you can use force and the last person that touched me got a mouth full of OC-17...so this guy is lucky
