Some jews profited from the slave trade because there was an existing demand for them(the "whites" role was just as significant as the jewish one if not more). Most of these jews were integrated well enough into upper class white society that they were white for all intents and purposes.

Those jews kept selling us slaves and we just couldn't help ourselves. :)

I used "we" because there's a ridiculous portrayal of the evils that some jews committed in the slave trade as somehow "unique". I don't believe jews should feel any collective responsibility for slavery either. I think what you think is the collective guilting of whites is the condemnation of "white supremacy". Most of the public arguments for slavery were made in terms of "white supremacy" and this(surprise) influenced it's historical portrayal.
