Why so much hating towards AKB48 ? I'm agree that all handshake events, elections, multiple version contribute a lot. It is like incentive for fans to buy physical copies instead of dl everything from internet which the main reason why real artists cannot perform well in single chart. Singles is not relevant anymore these days. Albums and digital chart is where real artists perform better. Only dedicated fans and wota buy single (majority of them idols fan). Casual fans only dl from internet.

I don't understand why people are complaining about AKB48. I agree somewhat that there's too much of them on the charts but it's not just their music that's catchy, it's because they have great marketing schemes. If other managements have thought of it first (the handshakes etc.), I'm sure they would use it too. um even johnny's entertainment allows up to 2 pre-ordered sales per customer (these idols might seem annoying to some but at least they received their gross sales by fair means. it's the quality of ONE CD over the quantity of 5000 which an AKB customer bought
artists never include a "touch me" ticket in order to increase sales (though CDs may have free-concert raffle tickets and such) many have public handshake or mini-live events but they are FREE (CD are sold as an option)

Besides, there's usually 3 copies of a single available (regular, regular first press, CD+DVD). Wouldn't it be weird if I wanted to have a copy of all 3 editions?
Regarding the AKB fan who supposedly bought 5500 copies, that news is actually fake. The guy works at the Chinese delivery courier.
uh, do you even live in japan? it's 2 sales (per type of CD) go to record towers and such (however, if JE fans really want to increase sales they can go to every store online and purchase 2)
if you're a foreign fan then of course you can buy multiple from international sites.

and another thing, many producers hold pride in themselves as well as their artists (real producers respect their artists and don't force them to wear bikinis/underwear<--japan has gravure idols for that)

if 50,000 akb fans each bought 20 CDs that's 1,000,000 ONE MILLION sales

er, about 3... sucking the money and vitality of 30 to 50 year-olds is very profitable but do you know why idol groups such as Perfume, Morning Musume, etc are popular without elections? It's because they are real idols that hold pride in what they do. They don't need fans with an ulterior motive to sell their music. I think that's very admirable about them.

I'm sure the AKB48 girls worked hard to get where they are, but I personally don't think their music is all that great. I think they appeal mostly to both the 40 year old pervert and 13 year old girl crowd, and that would be why they have so many sales. I actually do buy quite a few CD's of my favorite artists - artists who write their own songs, play their own music, etc., and I think they're much more deserving of being in the Top 50, but c'est la vie.

Why so much hating towards AKB48 ? I'm agree that all handshake events, elections, multiple version contribute a lot. It is like incentive for fans to buy physical copies instead of dl everything from internet which the main reason why real artists cannot perform well in single chart. Singles is not relevant anymore these days. Albums and digital chart is where real artists perform better. Only dedicated fans and wota buy single (majority of them idols fan). Casual fans only dl from internet.

I don't understand why people are complaining about AKB48. I agree somewhat that there's too much of them on the charts but it's not just their music that's catchy, it's because they have great marketing schemes. If other managements have thought of it first (the handshakes etc.), I'm sure they would use it too. And don't complain if your favourites arent doing as well as them if you don't even buy their original CDs :/

um even johnny's entertainment allows up to 2 pre-ordered sales per customer (these idols might seem annoying to some but at least they received their gross sales by fair means. it's the quality of ONE CD over the quantity of 5000 which an AKB customer bought
artists never include a "touch me" ticket in order to increase sales (though CDs may have free-concert raffle tickets and such) many have public handshake or mini-live events but they are FREE (CD are sold as an option)

Besides, there's usually 3 copies of a single available (regular, regular first press, CD+DVD). Wouldn't it be weird if I wanted to have a copy of all 3 editions?
Regarding the AKB fan who supposedly bought 5500 copies, that news is actually fake. The guy works at the Chinese delivery courier.

uh, do you even live in japan? it's 2 sales (per type of CD) go to record towers and such (however, if JE fans really want to increase sales they can go to every store online and purchase 2)
if you're a foreign fan then of course you can buy multiple from international sites.

and another thing, many producers hold pride in themselves as well as their artists (real producers respect their artists and don't force them to wear bikinis/underwear<--japan has gravure idols for that)
how are fans suppose to support their artist if there is clearly an unfair way of sales done by the akb management
if 50,000 akb fans each bought 20 CDs that's 1,000,000 ONE MILLION sales
if 50,000 regular fans bought a copy or two that's 50,000~100,000
